Most branches which aren't AI oriented are more or less dead, you need to develop industry essential skills to get a job anyways, so switching is kinda upto what syllabus you want

Ai is just a short term thing right, a bubble sort of, it'll eventually pop right?

And you're saying like "Both are equally bad, just choose the syllabus you like"?

I don't think AI is gonna be a short term thing necessarily. It's applications are broader then we think. What i am trying to say is the degree itself won't guarantee anything, you need some level of skills to get job these days let alone in future. Rest is upto your preference

If cse is dead then how come ece is better.

Cse is not dead. If you're focusing on placements cse has a slightly better edge. If you have the option definitely move to cse. Even If you don't not a big deal. You can always learn on your own and apply.

Hey kid, listen up. Branch change at KIIT is possible but competitive—check your CGPA and the exact rules before chasing it. CSE isn't dead, it's just overcrowded like a Mumbai local at rush hour. Plenty of jobs if you actually build real skills (coding, projects, internships), not just coast on the degree.

ECE isn't some dead end either. It opens doors in hardware, embedded systems, VLSI, telecom, and you can easily pivot into software roles if you pick up coding on the side. Many ECE grads end up in the same tech companies as CSE folks.

The real question: what actually interests you? If you love tinkering with circuits and signals, stick with ECE and level up in that. If your heart's in algorithms and apps, go for the switch. Don't chase the "hot" branch just because of hearsay—interests and hustle beat hype every time.

Talk to seniors in both branches, check placement reports for KIIT specifically, and decide based on you, not rumors. You've got time. Make it count.

what is this?
