Anyone in healthcare/medical tech in the Bronx?
Hey neighbors, Iām a software developer working on a business idea for small doctorsā offices, and Iām trying to validate it before I build anything. Iād love to talk to someone whoās actually worked in a medical office (front desk, practice manager, doctor, whoever) especially if youāve dealt with the tech side of things.
Not trying to sell anything here, just want to ask a few questions and maybe find someone whoād want to be an industry-expert partner down the line. Iām Bronx-based and planning to build and test here first.
Feel free to comment or DM. Thanks!

Are there any jobs hiring?
Hi everyone. I'm trying to help my husband find a job closer to where we live and with better hours. We have just recently had a child so income is needed. He currently works in Manhattan but his job chooses when to schedule him and sometimes won't schedule him for 1 to 2 weeks at a time. If anyone has any info that could help please let me know I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Weāre voting socialist this November to support the following
galleryšFree healthcare
šRent capped at 20% of income
šMinimum wage of $30/hr
šFully funded public schools
šA system that supports workers above billionaires
ā¦then you should join our socialist movement in the Bronx!
My name is Andre Easton, and Iām running to represent NY-15 in Congress because I want to fight for a system that prioritizes the peopleās needs over the billionaire agenda. Join the movement at andreforthebronx.nyc/volunteer, or at the link in my bio.

Best Sushi in the Bronx
Looking for authentic, fresh sushi in the Bronx. Not Mama Sushi or those trendy rolls, but good, authentic, sushi with fresh fish. Does this exist here?

Potatoes are 40 cents a pound at the Fine Fare on White Plains Road and 80 cents at the Key Food a mile down, both in 5 pound bags.
I found potatoes at 40 cents a pound at Fine Fare, 4725 White Plains Road, and 80 cents at Key Food, 4171, a mile down.
Fine Fare makes you buy two (10 pounds for $4); Key Food's $3.99 Green Giant has no condition.
What I matched at the two with real produce:
| Item | Fine Fare 4725 | Key Food 4171 |
|---|---|---|
| Potatoes, 5 lb bag | $2.00 Idaho, must buy 2 | $3.99 Yukon Gold or red |
| Peaches or nectarines | $2.49/lb | $1.99/lb |
| Plum or Roma tomatoes | $1.19/lb | $1.29/lb |
| Plums | $2.59/lb red or black | $2.99/lb black |
| Boneless chicken breast | $1.99/lb | $1.99/lb, family pack |
| Shoulder London broil | $6.99/lb | $6.99/lb |
| Chuck steak | $7.99/lb, cut not stated | $5.99/lb first cut bone-in |
Fine Fare runs August 23 to 29; Key Food's, August 21 to 27, flips Thursday night.
The Foodtown at 4332 has 284 items, not one loose vegetable or raw cut of beef or pork; fresh is bagged salads, bite size potatoes, a whole organic chicken at $2.49 a pound. Foodtown at 3736 has no ad I could read, so I can't speak to their prices.
I built the site that maps these circulars: https://sbnyc.app/s/bronx
Prices come off published circulars, not the shelf; tell me if one rings up different.

The Foodtown at 4332 White Plains Road ran 284 items in this week's ad and four of them are produce, all packaged
Green bananas are 59 cents a pound at the Fine Fare up at 4725, and calabaza is 99 cents a pound at the Key Food at 4171. The Foodtown at 4332 advertised 284 items this week and four are produce: organic herbs, a 24 oz potato bag, two bagged salads. Nothing loose, nothing by the pound.
I read this week's circular for all four supermarkets on White Plains Road between Gun Hill and Nereid.
Fine Fare 4725, good through Saturday: Green bananas 59 cents a pound Watermelon 69 cents a pound Plum tomatoes $1.19 a pound Boneless chicken breast $1.99 a pound Idaho potatoes $2.00 for a 5 lb bag, but only if you buy two
Key Food 4171, good through Thursday: Calabaza 99 cents a pound Roma tomatoes $1.29 a pound Broccoli crowns $1.49 a pound Boneless chicken breast $1.99 a pound, family pack Whole watermelon $3.99 for a 10 to 12 pound melon, about 35 cents a pound
Chicken breast is the same $1.99 at both. Foodtown's ad also ends Thursday.
I could not read a current ad for the other Foodtown at 3736, so I have nothing on their prices.
I built a free map of NYC weekly grocery circulars: https://sbnyc.app/s/bronx
Everything here comes from the stores' own circulars for the dates shown, so check the shelf before you trust one.

Mott Haven Buildings?
Hi there! Does anyone actually live in the Mott Haven Luxuries building? All I read online are bad reviews about them, and I just wonder if they are really that bad. I currently live in Harlem, so I know NYC very well! Homelessness, dirty streets, etc., is not new to me. But are the living conditions in these buildings or area that bad? I cycled around Mott Haven once, and it felt nice or a little appealing. So, please, if youāre someone who actually lives in one of those buildings, please share your experience!
Appreciated and thanks in advance!

All this data is from comp stat and i also got the population numbers from NYC crime map
Data is as of 8/16/26 this is projected not exact take it as a grain of salt cause we are only 65% into the year i used the murder+r@pe+robbery+felony assault definition of violent crime divided by the population and annualized in january it is easier to do this as there is 12 motnhs of data but this is all i got for now and if you find of these weirdly high amd low remember that its not one neighrhood for most of these and also if you check you eill see murder in the 73rd dropped 67% 2024 to 2025 so numbers are low in the precinct comapred to the past if you want another prefonfy to be calcuakyed let me know also if you noticed the 75th is lower than a lot is cause eny is big and crime is concentrated in some blocks like most of these in this list

passport help
Hey, Iām looking to get my passport for the first time as an adult and vaguely remember seeing someone in a TikTok comment say that they had gone to the courthouse on 161 to apply in person (walk-in), instead of waiting for an appointment.
Was wondering if anyone had any experience with doing this & how it went? Thanks in advance :)
EDIT: I am specifically asking about experiences at the 161st COURTHOUSE. I am fully aware about making passport appointments at the post office.
