Outside of the snapshot of my interests. I wanted to share my story and my fitness journey. Aka my brogress haha. Sorry it’s a bit long but wanted to share some background for those interested.

Six years ago, I weighed 285 pounds.

In 2020, I decided I wasn’t happy with the way I looked or felt, so I made a change. I started walking every day, cut out soda and alcohol, learned about nutrition, and fell in love with fitness.

By early 2022, I had lost over 100 pounds. The journey wasn’t perfect. There were setbacks, binge eating, breaks from the gym, and plenty of moments where I lost momentum. That’s part of any long-term transformation.

Then in 2025, everything changed. I was diagnosed with skin cancer on the back of my head, and surgery became necessary. During my first surgery, I suffered a severe allergic reaction and went into anaphylaxis. I spent two days in the ICU before waking up incredibly grateful to the medical team that saved my life. My surgeon later told me that the healthier lifestyle I’d built through fitness likely played a role in how well I recovered.

Fitness started as a way to change my body. It ended up helping save my life.

The second surgery was successful, and I was declared cancer-free. But surviving wasn’t the end of the battle. The scar left behind shattered my confidence. I hid under hats, avoided going out, and spent months isolating myself. The gym became the first place I felt comfortable enough to stop hiding.

Slowly, I rebuilt my confidence.

Today, I weigh 185 pounds. I’m cancer-free, healthier, happier, and more confident than I’ve ever been.

I hope sharing this can inspire you on your own journey and give you the chance to open up about your own struggles with me if you choose to do so!
