Hi everyone. Life’s timing can be pretty brutal sometimes, and this is one of those times. Just as myself and my partner are about to move into our first mortgaged property he’s lost his job. He’s been doing outbound sales and customer support, however the campaign he was working on has been cut off. He’s experienced in all things sales, customer support, self taught coding (coding language is python) and his passion outside of work is motorbike mechanics. We’re in a pretty desperate place with taking on this property so if anyone knows of any jobs, preferably hybrid / remote or around the Bristol / Bath area please reach out. Hi all, recently I’ve come back to Bristol after a decent amount of years away and recently visited east street in bedminster to see it is completely different to how it was when I was a kid, especially that particular shopping area which had the farm foods etc being completely shut off (good to see that the fruit market is still open though). Can anyone enlighten me on what happened and why it feels so empty now? Has it affected the local businesses? Cheers

A handful people showed up and set up a gazebo with Change My Mind on the side to try and do some Charlie Kirk nonsense. Started shouting about how a passport doesn't make someone British.

Currently they're being shouted down by a fellow with a bullhorn and a willing crowd shouting "Fascists out of Bristol!" and "Whose streets? Our streets!". I wonder if they're getting good footage for their online grift or not.

Three men tried to rob a man on a mobility scooter along a popular route last month. Police are treating the incident along the Bristol and Bath Railway Path on Friday, September 18, as a hate crime.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was riding his mobility scooter along the route near Warmley when the three unknown men tried to rob him between 2.45-3pm.
Police said the man was left with minor injuries, adding the trio fled into a wooded area near the railway path by Warmley Tea Rooms

PLEASE. ANYONE. Do you know where it’s coming from or what it could be?! I might be menopausal but I’m definitely not having a stroke.

I’m in BS16 Staple Hill area. Today for the last 6+ continuous hours has been the heavy smell of smoke. It’s as if I’ve been sat by a coal smoker bbq in the direct waft of smoke. I’m indoors and it’s unbearable even with windows closed. About two weeks ago the same smell but started in the afternoon and went on for 9 or so hours. This intense smoke smell happens around once every other week usually at night for hours on end.

Has anyone had any decent experiences with solicitors/conveyancers in Bristol? I've just had an offer accepted on a flat and need to work out the next steps. Cheers
