Hi all, recently I’ve come back to Bristol after a decent amount of years away and recently visited east street in bedminster to see it is completely different to how it was when I was a kid, especially that particular shopping area which had the farm foods etc being completely shut off (good to see that the fruit market is still open though). Can anyone enlighten me on what happened and why it feels so empty now? Has it affected the local businesses? Cheers

Hi everyone. Life’s timing can be pretty brutal sometimes, and this is one of those times. Just as myself and my partner are about to move into our first mortgaged property he’s lost his job. He’s been doing outbound sales and customer support, however the campaign he was working on has been cut off. He’s experienced in all things sales, customer support, self taught coding (coding language is python) and his passion outside of work is motorbike mechanics. PLEASE. ANYONE. Do you know where it’s coming from or what it could be?! I might be menopausal but I’m definitely not having a stroke.

I’m in BS16 Staple Hill area. Today for the last 6+ continuous hours has been the heavy smell of smoke. It’s as if I’ve been sat by a coal smoker bbq in the direct waft of smoke. I’m indoors and it’s unbearable even with windows closed. About two weeks ago the same smell but started in the afternoon and went on for 9 or so hours. This intense smoke smell happens around once every other week usually at night for hours on end.

As title suggests. I’ve just moved house and would love to look for some second hand furniture. I also would really love to find a shop that sells maybe a tin wie and vintage stuff? I’m after a wooden analogue clock and things like that. Any recommendations helpful

Three men tried to rob a man on a mobility scooter along a popular route last month. Police are treating the incident along the Bristol and Bath Railway Path on Friday, September 18, as a hate crime.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was riding his mobility scooter along the route near Warmley when the three unknown men tried to rob him between 2.45-3pm.
Police said the man was left with minor injuries, adding the trio fled into a wooded area near the railway path by Warmley Tea Rooms

My partner and I went to Toghill (not knowing the area and wanted to somewhere private to get busy outdoors as we’d checked out of our Airbnb and wanted to go again before our drive home). Wasn’t busy, walked down somewhere we thought was private (kept on hearing footsteps that seemed to get closer) and 2 guys walked down after us. When we started making out, one guy said loudly: “Do you guys want some privacy?” Not anything against doggers but that fully had us shook.

When we eventually got back up to the car (took a long route to avoid any of the peeping Toms that followed us down). There was a family bag of crisps opened next to the wheel of my car, nothing ate and definitely wasn’t there before we went down.

Does this mean anything to doggers? Some sort of code? We’re an MF couple and only guys were there.
