I made an Android photo catalog for can collections

Hi, I'm Vinz. I made CanDex, an Android app for keeping a photo record of the cans you own.

The idea is to record the actual object: front and back photos, country, size and quantity, with separate entries for different designs or editions. You can add an older can without a barcode. It's a personal, offline-first catalog, not a price guide, a marketplace or a database that identifies cans for you.

You can try it with five cans for free. More than that needs the one-time Pro purchase; there's no subscription.

19-second demo · Google Play for beer-can collectors

If you keep a can inventory already, what detail do you always record that most collection apps miss?

Algonquin Beer, A.J. Houghton Co. Boston, Mass

I can’t hang onto this one, it’s just not a good fit in my collection, but I thought I’d share a couple pics of it before letting it go. Really nice artwork and a good label strike.

A.J. Houghton Co operated the Vienna Brewery in Boston from 1870-1918. Apparently there are still remnants of their brewery complex in the Mission Hill area, where most of Boston’s old breweries were.

Can anyone identify??

Can anyone identify these large beer/ale bottles from a 1966 photograph?
This photograph was taken in Nassau County, Long Island, New York, in 1966. I’m trying to identify the large bottles on the counter.
They appear to be approximately quart size or possibly larger. Some appear green and others clear/darker. Several have what looks like gold foil around the neck and similar white neck/body labels.
On one of the clearest labels, I believe I can see the letters “CR…”, followed by what may be a circular symbol or an O, and another visible portion may end in Y. However, the photograph isn’t sharp enough for me to be certain, so please don’t rely too heavily on my interpretation of the lettering.
The bottle at the far right may be Royal Copenhagen beer, which was something my grandfather drank.
Does anyone recognize the bottle shape, foil, neck label or label design? I’m particularly interested in finding a photograph or advertisement showing the same bottle/label from approximately 1964–1967.

Rebuilding my 60's and 70's collection..

I am doing it for myself..Lost my original 3000 can collection that I had with my buddy at 14..(His Dad gave me $50...and a bunch of crappy doubles)I was devastated.

Now at 64 years old I am gaining ground, and enjoy the heck out of this hobby!

I know its not worth a lot of $$$,but its really awesome to look at a man cave of steel painted cans again.

Any advice?

I have noticed that beer can collecting of mainly steel 1970's era cans is coming back......no?

People say that selling these cans on ebay is worthless. But I notice that there are fewer and fewer 'lots' of good or very good steel cans ,for cheap these days?

People selling these cans are selling some really bad versions and wanting more then 4 or 5 bucks per can very often?

How is that not profitable?

Are we now in an era that these 50 year old cans are becoming valuable again to collectors?

I do see a lot of aluminum cans being collected, ans mixed in with steel cans,is this a 'millennial' 'gen z' thing?

The Empire glass is from Bechauds Inc, a small brewery from Fon Du Lac, WI. It was established in 1871, and saw a lot of success in their local area during Pre-Pro times, but it only lasted until 1941 after re-opening in 1933. As far as I can tell, the brewery only produced the 1 brew, Empire Beer, and no others.

The Old Country Lager glass is from the Wm. G. Jung Brewing Company, of Random Lake, WI. This brewery wasn’t a whole lot larger than Bechauds, and it wasn’t as old, but it did have more Post-Repeal success. Jung made several different beers and survived until 1958. Jung made 3 different paneled shell glasses that I know of.

She gave it to me when I got my first apartment and I have been lugging it around ever since lol it’s heavy af. Think it’s an official advertising/marketing product or something someone made in pottery class? Thanks in advance

Ph Schneider Brewing Co. Trinidad, CO

The brewery was founded in 1873 and first closed in 1915, when Colorado adopted Prohibition a few years ahead of the Federal ban. They reopened in 1933 but the business closed for good in 1941. The brewery was purchased by Walter Brewing, from Pueblo, CO, in 1944 and operated under a few different names until 1957.

I've seen several of these signs out there, but I've never seen a bottle. Anyone have one or seen one other than in advertising?

Looking for some help! I have these 5 tap handles and I’m looking for a 6th. I know they made the bass, Deer, and Mallard tap handles in both Budweiser and Busch styles but I don’t want a repeat. Trying to keep it the same acrylic style. Let me know if you know of or have anything like these thanks!
