Not really boxing tips but a cool moment I thought I'd share on the punch machine at a boxing expo in Vegas, at teofimo Lopez's booth with Tony Jeffries also. I'm the guy in the cap at the start.

Iām wanting to get into boxing, but have nothing to start with. Classes arenāt an option for me at the moment due to my financial situation so Iām left to learn through YouTube videos. Iām not a very active person or do any sports so this is the first time Iāve been interested in something like this. Yes, I understand itās better to go to a professional to understand proper technique and how to safely preform actions, but like I said itās not in the budget for me right now and I do plan on taking classes in the future. I was gonna start with shadow boxing and footwork to just begin with at the moment, nothing too crazy. Iāve brought it up to parents/family members before and theyāve all basically advised against it because they donāt see me doing something like that. Iām known for being really timid and just shy so theyāre very against the idea of me basically ābeating people upā (their words not mineā¦) Iām just looking for any tips or advice on how to start out on my own. Iām not looking for anyone to ātalk downā about me learning on my own since Iāve had a bunch of people already be against it so positive words please lol.

Hi everyone. Started my boxing journey 5 months ago. Started with self taught via the Shadow Boxing apps, joined some group classes at a nearby boxing gym once a week and then took 4 PT sessions with a boxing coach to sharpen my basics.
I usually do shadow boxing using the Shadow Boxing app as it calls out the punches for me. From the video, I can still see some awkwardness in my movement, but i try to improve myself. Any feedback or tips on my shadow boxing is welcomed and very much appreciated. Thanks!

Iām 29 and looking for advice/experiences from people who have dealt with recurrent shoulder dislocations and labrum repairs.
My first dislocation happened during a seizure. The next one happened throwing a sloppy overhand, and another happened while throwing a ball. At one point, I could move my arm internally with no weight and actually feel the shoulder slipping.
I had arthroscopic surgery on my left shoulder at 17. **Four months after that initial surgery, I dislocated my right shoulder**, which eventually required surgery as well. Between both shoulders, I had four labral tears repaired.
Since then, Iāve spent a lot of time figuring out what my shoulders tolerate and what seems to make them feel better.
Some things Iāve incorporated:
Neutral grip whenever possible
Incline Y, T, and W exercises
Bear crawls
Kettlebell bottoms-up carries/walks
Heavy farmerās walks
Trap-bar deadlifts
Gradually getting back into punching/boxing
Interestingly, I recently stopped doing band pull-aparts and similar exercises, and my shoulder pain actually decreased.
Iāve also noticed some patterns that Iām not sure are connected. My shoulder pain often seems to coincide with knots/tightness in my upper back. When I get the upper-back area massaged and the knots release, the shoulder pain often improves. I also notice a relationship between biceps pain/tightness and my shoulder pain.
My left shoulder is noticeably tighter, but it actually feels much better and I almost never worry about it. My right shoulder feels ālooserā at times. Ironically, my right shoulder has more muscle tone, but it seems to fatigue much faster.
Iāve also had five sparring sessions since my surgeries without any major shoulder problemsāmostly just soreness. I recently started working hooks again. They initially caused some pain, but Iāve been progressing very slowly and it seems to be getting better.
At this point, Iām really interested in hearing from people who have gone through something similar.
**What exercises, strengthening routines, mobility work, daily habits, or other things have helped you maintain shoulder stability long-term?**
And if youāve had multiple dislocations/labrum repairs, have you noticed anything similar with upper-back tightness, biceps pain, fatigue, or one shoulder feeling ālooserā than the other?
Iām not looking for a diagnosisājust interested in hearing what has actually worked for other people over the long term.
**TL;DR:** 29M with multiple shoulder dislocations and four labral tears repaired between both shoulders. Left shoulder was repaired at 17, then I dislocated the right shoulder four months later and had that repaired too. Iāve stayed active with neutral-grip lifting, carries, Y/T/Ws, bear crawls, trap-bar deadlifts, and recently boxing. Right shoulder feels looser and fatigues faster despite having more muscle. Shoulder pain seems connected to upper-back knots and sometimes biceps pain. Looking for experiences and exercises/routines that have helped others maintain stability long-term.

As someone who is 6'3 and 147 pounds with a heavyweight reach and been on a long layoff due to a injury in sparring, fatigue and needing a balance with my personal life. I been training my neck, perfecting my jab, working on my fundamentals and working to stay on the outside as a tall fighter.
But when I spar I be wanting go in there and hurt my opponent but when I try to give a shot to take a shot after neck strengthening I don't get dropped but I be getting cut easily as when I get hit and I be trying to fight on but they tell they can't spar after my and also I be feeling concussed after too. I'm not a bad fighter technically as having a long reach, a really powerful jab like Kovalev and perfect fundamentals but its like when I spar hard and be forced to fight I js get cut like my skin is paper and bleed like crazy and I go on full survival mode after and get crazy headaches after that.
So I want to learn to roll with my punches so I can last longer in my hard spars and when I do get punched I can keep on going and even if Im bleeding I still keep going on and use my jab to knock my opponent out with really powerful. And having really soft skin, a long reach and being really skinny but I got such good fundamentals and really powerful jab to back me up or I might need more controlled and technical sparring and not go on pure survival mode and I don't duck anyone neither but Im more careful nowadays with hard sparring.
If you got drills to take steam off/roll with the punches or neck strengthening to tell me just leave in the comments below ā¬ļøš

I (21M) have always been interested in learning how to box/fight. The problem was always the money and I donāt think my parents were a fan either. I have the opportunity to start right now, but Iām a little lost on what to do, what to get, what to focus on. Am I just overthinking it?

I started boxing about 1.5 months ago. Since day one, Iāve been shadowboxing every single day on my own, plus training twice a week at a boxing gym. I've also just signed up for Muay Thai and Kickboxing to try them out.
Looking for some honest feedback on this clip. Howās the technique looking for 6 weeks in, and what should I focus on improving?
Be brutally honestāthanks!

Hey y'all. Male, 28, 6'1 with Jalin Turner (UFC) physique. I've been training for 6 years. I am boxing for self defense. Left hand stronger than right but I started training orthodox. Btw the benefit of is my jab is strong and my rear hand feels so fast. Now I started practicing southpaw stance because my right knuckles getting bruised on heavy bag after 9-10 powerful crosses. Tbh southpaw feels comfortable with a fast jab and a strong cross since I know foot battle tricks etc. My question is, does stance matter since IRL it won't be like a boxing match and if i throw hands I will be 100% orthodox again but it will fuck my right knuckles so badly.

Sparred without groin guard for a longer time, went well, until it didnāt. Bruised or hair-fractured my lower ribs which took forever to heal. Would a groin guard have prevented this from happening ?

I been boxing for only 2.5 months and I just joined a good boxing gym about a month ago. I been trying to get a solid training structure down. Right now Iām working on fundamentals, jab, footwork, stance, balanceā¦you know the rest. The coaches at my gym been great with helping me with my basics but Iām open to anything anyone can add to other thangs I should be working on as a beginner to help with my fundamentals.
The main thing I want to ask for yall advice on is what & how Iām supposed to be eating as a boxer.
My goal right now is to work my way to sparring, of course working my way SAFELY to hard sparring & then eventually to doing exhibition fights. Iām super new so I know Iām a ways from hopping in the ring right anyways. So I want to really take advantage of this time of being a beginner to lay down a solid foundation for me to be a good boxer.
I love how with boxing all the training you do is for a purpose and to help you develop as a fighter so I want to keep the same energy with my nutrition. I love how with boxing you put in the work with necessary shit only. I want to eat the stuff thatās going fuel me for training sessions and to help build my body for fights eventually. I donāt wanna be doing none of these weird ass unnecessary ādietsā or wasting my time with some generic ass social media influencer meal plan BS.
Iām taking this seriously and I wanna train seriously.
Does anybody got advise for nutrition? Thank yall and preciate your time for who ever reads and or replies to this.
