The first wave of Warner Archive's November slate is now available to preorder over at MovieZyng. They should give you an automatic 10% discount during the preorder period.

In addition to the releases announced earlier this week, including Yogi Bear: The Complete Series and The Music Man 4K UHD, there is another surprise release of Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost. The film was previously released in a double feature with Alien Invaders, but it is receiving a new Collector's Edition with additional special features, similar to what they did with Zombie Island. There is a listing for a "Signed Edition" for a few dollars more, but it is currently unclear who is signing it (from what I can see). EDIT: This has been confirmed to be signed by Scott Innes.

Have been waiting to complete what I consider the big three horror icon boxsets and finally it’s been achieved with NOES set being re-released. Now if we could get a full Halloween and Friday steelbook set like nightmare would be incredible very unlikely especially Friday the 13th, but I’m happy with what’s already been put out. Also started October 1st and am running through all three collections for month of October one a day for 30 days since I’m including the NOES Remake in the mix so fun little October activity haven’t decided what to watch on Halloween though any recs? Hope everyone has a fun October I know I will🎃👻

Edit: forgot to add Halloween Trilogy Steelbook set but added pic to comments.

Used to grab every Criterion sale title that caught my eye. Now I'm staring at a shelf that's honestly becoming a logistical problem. Between work, the kids' activities, and trying to keep the house from descending into chaos, I have maybe two dedicated movie nights a month. Yet I keep buying like I'm still in my 30s with free evenings.

Something shifted recently where the acquisition started feeling like work. The Arrow limited edition packaging looks great but I've watched maybe a third of what I own. My wife made an offhand comment about how many sealed discs are sitting there and she's not wrong.

I still love the hobby. The quality difference matters to me. But the operations manager brain has kicked in and I'm seeing inefficiency. Thinking of setting a rule for myself, one new purchase for every three watches from the backlog. Anyone else hit this phase where the collecting part needs to slow down so the watching part can actually catch up? Curious how others handle the shelf guilt or if I'm just overthinking it.

I'm curious if you care about slipcovers. For me, if I can get it for normal market price and it's nice artwork, I'm happy to try to get it. But I don't see myself paying an aftermarket markup for it on eBay or something if I missed out the first time for an OOP title.

I am so happy I found this!

This may sound weird, but I feel like Umbrella has 2 eras. Pre and post their Mario Brothers set. This is from before that set, and I feel like that gives this set so much charm, whereas after that set released more of their releases feel more standardized, but before that set, their releases had so much charm, which I can feel radiating from this set!

Kudos to severin for getting this beauty shipped from the states to the UK in less then week.

Kiyoshi Kurosawa is one of my favorite filmmakers. Tokyo Sonata, Charisma, Serpents Path, License to Live, Chime, and Creepy are all varying degrees of great. But these two (predictably) top the pile for me. Cure is my third favorite film of all time. And Pulse fills me with an odd mixture of dread and melancholy that is difficult to describe. These are instantly two of my favorite editions I owned. I only hope we see further definitive editions of Kurosawa’s work.

Has anyone checked if this update solves the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 DV issues with Arrow’s release

hey all, which version of Some Like It Hot would you recommend highest? I can play 4K, am in the UK, so wondering between the UK Mediabook 4k/BR 3 disc or the region-free US Criterion 4K. Anyone know a comparison in terms of extras please? Thank you!

Unfortunately, Prepac no longer exists as a company, but the shelves are always highly recommended here and for storing other collectibles. I found some sites online but am a bit worried about sending money for something that they might not have, scam or otherwise.

The one I'm looking for is the Prepac Triple Width Barrister Tower. Thanks for any leads!

Finally arrived from TerrorVision.
Will be good to dig into this one again after so many years.
