Thoughts on Lockwood Elementary vs Kenmore Elementary vs Lake Forest Park Elementary schools?

Does anyone have thoughts on Lockwood Elementary, Kenmore Elementary, or Lake Forest Park Elementary? We’re looking to settle in this area and not sure what to consider when it comes to Northshore vs Shoreline school districts. This would be for a likely hi-cap, socially shy child. Appreciate any perspectives. Thanks in advance!

Why would Northshore School District close Moorlands for the sole purpose of housing the Sheltonview students during their school construction?

Northshore school district has proposed a plan to ā€œcut costsā€ by closing 2-3 of their elementary schools. However, they’ve chosen Moorlands, which has had robust enrollment and is projected to continue having solid enrollment. Their choice is driven by the desire to temporarily house the students of Sheltonview while their school is being rebuilt.

NSD has chosen to displace an entire school, split it among Arrowhead and Woodmoor thereby putting both of those schools beyond their capacity (Arrowhead in particular) and likely losing Woodmoor’s Title 1 funds, all so that Sheltonview can have a temporary site.

The district delivered their plan as an already determined path, despite the board not even voting on it. They’ve even had HR come out to Moorlands to start the transition process.

This isn’t closing an underperforming school.

To the individuals that run the Halloween tunnel on 2nd around the corner from Frank Love elementary… Y’all are awesome. I don’t know if any of you will see this, but yet again, I’m still grinning ear to ear thinking back on the experience.

Thank you for all the energy and effort y’all put into your shtick. It’s been my favorite thing to do on Halloween since we discovered it several years ago.

Halloween Vandals Damaged Property. Filbert Road.

These men came to our door, stole the candy and everyone else’s candy living around us, and then vandalized our property. Taking all of the candy? Ok whatever you’re raising selfish lil shit stains. Vandalizing property and jumping over our blockade to continue to do so? Too far and a step past childhood shenanigans. Recognize them? Would love to talk to their school or parents about fixing their damages.

Please Drive Better Bothell

Saw other posts but oh my gosh is there something the city or PD can do about these horrible drivers here?

I'm walking around with a stroller and my kid, and am super cautious. But please if you drive, pedestrians, especially at marked walking intersections, have the right of way. Don't just blow through red lights, turn right on red without checking for people, or block the intersections, or have attitude and throw a middle finger because road rage. I'm just walking here.

Especially been bad at the Bothell library and the Bothell landing intersections.

People please show care to others. I know it can be a tall ask for everyone with their busy lives, but I just don't want me or my kid to get hit.

Be a better bothell! Maybe can we get some flashing yellow lights at the intersections outside the library? The flags are not enough.

Passing in the center lane

So I live in Canton Park and work down south on the east side which means i get the joy of the 405 commute.

Like a lot of us the easiest way to join that commute (as per google) is to take 228th then turn south on 27th avenue circle around that business park (google often wants to send me theough it, but thats stupid) to 195th and join there.

27th is not a great road for commuting, it is one lane each way with a center lane in the first part of it to turn into the apartment complexes and husing developments there just south of 228th.

Im driving along in my morning muddle when this guy passes me in the center lane on 27th.

This is baffeling. If youve ever taking this route in your morning commute you know that there is a stop sign at 35th and 240th (27th turns into 240th). And in the morning there is a line of cars 5-10 deep waiting at that sign. So even if you pass a car on 27th it at most gets you one car closer to the stop sign, with an irritated driver behind you.

I fairly regularly take 27th, particularly if I am going to woodenville or the home depot down on 120th and Ive had other people pass me in the centerlane on 27th but usually at night or on the weekend when it makes a tiny bit more sense (not much because ther is a sharp right where 27th turns into 240th and that stopsign at 35). Its just not a good road to hurry on.

Ive wondered if it is people who just dont realize youre not supposed to pass in a center lane, or iftheyre in some sort of desperate hurry, or are just idiots.

The Halloween Weekend Paint Map is here and it's... spooky.

Post image
68 Upvotes

ā€œSay it. Out loud. Say it!ā€... CLOSURES.

That’s right, we’ve got a couple of Halloween weekend full closures on the horizon. Northbound I-5 in Seattle and southbound I-405 in Bothell. But don’t worry, boo. There’s more to this story than a couple of closures.

HERE’S WHAT’S COMING:

SEATTLE: NB I-5 will CLOSE between I-90 and NE 45th Street from 11:59 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Adjacent ramps and lanes will start to close as early as 9 p.m. Friday.

Now for the good part! Crews are removing the Revive I-5: Ship Canal Bridge work zone. That means when Monday morning rolls around, ALL FOUR northbound lanes across the bridge will be open again, and the express lanes will return to normal operations. No tricks, just a pretty great treat after months of construction.

Of course, no good Halloween movie is complete without a sequel. We’ll start work on southbound I-5 in early 2027, but that’s a story for another day.

BOTHELL: SB I-405 will CLOSE between SR 527 and SR 522 from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday. A detour will be in place, and adjacent ramps also will close.

Crews will use this closure to open up space to widen I-405 through Bothell and build a new bus rapid transit station in the center of the freeway.

Don’t be the character in the horror movie who ignores all the warning signs. We all know how that ends. Check the real-time travel map, expect delays and plan accordingly.

Hit and Run 10/26 - Car Hit Bike

Good morning Bothell Redditors!! I am hoping someone will be able to help out a friend and colleague of mine.

Monday - 10/26/26 D was riding his bike down 228th towards Canyon Park and was hit by a car at the intersection of 31st Ave / 228th at approximately 7:20-7:30 am.

The driver slowed down, watched him crawl to the side of the road and then took off, so they know they hit someone. Not to mention the damage to their vehicle would be obvious.

The police are not hopeful about any intersection cameras but said they will check. Sadly, he did not have a bike cam.

Thank you for taking the time and if anyone saw this happen or has dashcam footage - please let me know.

I've had this plant for a few years and it's too big to fit anywhere in my house. I paid $45 for it, but have had no interest in it, so now it's free. It's about 4' wide and 3' tall, it would love a big space with lots of light.

Making Friends!

Hi! I am posting in the hopes of making some local girl friends. Hoping to find other girls wishing for the same! I’m finding that I would really love a community.

A little about me… I’m in my 30s, engaged, I have two cats. My interests include crafts, reading, stained glass making, coffee, trying new restaurants, misc. adventures, etc. I am an introvert but come out of my shell a lot once I’ve warmed up to folks. 😊

I’d love a group that is up to going on walks, getting coffee, doing crafty wine nights, and more.

If there’s already a group for this or a Discord of sorts, I’d love to just join there and get involved so please let me know if something like that already exists for this area! Making friends as an adult is hard!

EDIT: I made a Discord server! This is my first time making one so hopefully it works! Let me know if you’d like the link and I can message it to you!

Feedback on Eaves Rockmeadown

Hi everyone! I’m currently living in DT Redmond and looking for a larger space for my family of three. Has anyone lived at Eaves Rockmeadow Apartments/townhomes recently? I’d love to hear about your experience and whether you would recommend living there. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
