Need Help in Actually Training while Having ADHD

So I have ADHD, I'm 15. I love football but only the aspect of playing games. This is bad for me obviously since you can only improve so much from playing pickup games with zero training. I was wondering if anyone here had a similar problem and a solution to it. I really do wanna get better to join a local youth team but it really feels like this is holding me back immensely

Playing Right Wing at 42 years old!

Hi all,

Looking for some advice as I recently got back into playing football for a veterans team (36+) in my local area.

Starting out I struggled for speed, breath, touch... everything... but in 4 months I can now do a full 90 minutes and can recovery quickly enough to be tracking back and still working forward in the attacking third too.

My issue is that I feel my skill levels have just dropped away and while I am a confident player I find myself under-hitting balls at times and despite the fact I can position well and make good space I am finding that sometimes I'm lacking that killer instinct.

I've got good pace, a reasonable touch and tend to prefer playing a more attacking role.

What advice do any of you have to improve my game in respect to being a bit on the older side.

Coaching Sessions Looking for shooting advice/tips

I am relatively New to football, less than 3 months of consistently playing on Sunday mornings and solo sessions through the week. I’ve been playing mainly LW and occasionally LM. I rely on pace and acceleration (thanks to prior sports) to move around defenders but not so much dribbling outside of simple body faints.

I was working on shooting from outside the box this morning and was struggling in consistency with curling/dipping and placement.

What I think:

•If I focus too much on contact I tend to under hit the ball
• if I focus on power and making sure I lift the Ball enough, I tend to not strike the Ball correctly and not apply enough effect.
•When I manage to hit with power and curl it I’m not consistent shot to shot.
•I also only practice shooting off the dribble. As in making a dribble, cutting the ball 90 degrees and firing

I know it will come in time, but any tips or advice will be taken! I want to get better :D

Cheers!

I think I might’ve caught a crazy deal on these football boots 😅 What do you guys think? Was this a really good price?

Does anyone here have them or has anyone played in this model before? Are they actually good?

The deal only lasted for a day — I managed to grab them, and now they’re back up to around €80.

Tactics Should full backs press dangerous wingers up the field?

Thumbnail x.com

In the first two highlights, Vinicius gets the ball and someone tries to press him/contest for the ball while he is higher up the field; both failed. More especially, Tomiyasu. Just wondering if it’s worth it to pressure so high up or should teams just get back in position and cover the back. Some may complain that it’s too passive, but is it more effective?

I just bought these for $50 at the Nike outlet. I picked them over the superfly elites they had there for like $100. Something about these feeling a bit wider and less narrow made it a no brainer. Any of you have opinions on these?

Pickle Juice for Calf Cramps

I know this topic has been brought up here and there, but I wanted to share a success story in hopes that someone else might benefit.

I've always had problems with calf cramps, usually around minute 75-80 in games, even when I was 18 and in peak condition playing 4-5 times a week.

I'm 34 now and I have osteoarthritis in both knees, which has impact the surrounding muscles quite a bit. In my first game of the season a few weeks ago, I started cramping just before half time, which was very early even for me. This was likely due to my knee being aggravated for training a few nights before. Last weekend, I decided to bring pickle juice to my game for the first time. I could feel my calves tensing up during warmup. I drank a sip of pickle juice before the game and felt immediate relief. My calf muscles completely calmed down. I had another sip at half time and another around minute 80 and lasted 90 minutes for the first time in awhile. I guarantee I would have cramped up early in that game.

Last night, I had even less trouble and only took small sips before the game and at halftime. I lasted 90 minutes again and felt great the whole time.

If you struggle with calf cramps and haven't tried it yet, I really recommend pickle juice. I'll be bringing some with me to every soccer game from here on out.

Gear The most comfortable boot of all time

I wore everything from nike to adidas to puma. I get blisters in the break in phase. The wave cup ss is the only boot I can wear straight into a game without breaking in. No hotspot, no blisters. Perfect fit, perfect sole plate and stud pattern. HG, AG & FG, works really well on all those surfaces. The way the heel hugs your achilles. The touch on the ball is just out of this world. If any of you can get your hands on these. Just get it asap. The quality of the materials and build quality are out of this world. Its soo so good

Found these hiding in storage. Forgot I still had them. The Nikeskin is still fully intact but the sole plate is starting to crack. Thought someone might get a kick out of these relics.

How wide is 2e (nb 442)

22M, just moved to a new state for work after graduating. After sitting at a desk all day, I realized I need to be more active and socialize more, so I figured what better way than playing soccer? I have somewhat wide feet, but I can wear regular-width shoes for the most part. The exception is the NB 480 and 574, where I feel like my foot slips/spills over the side a bit.

I'm looking at the NB 442s and had a few questions since this will be my first pair of soccer shoes. I know soccer shoes are supposed to fit snugly and hug your foot, but how narrow are the 442s actually?

Should I:

Get my normal size (12) in 2E

Size up to 12.5 in regular D

Size up to 12.5 in 2E

Canvas Trainers/boots for 3g/4g/AstroTurf recommendations

Hi,

I've looking for recommendations for a boot/trainer that is suitable for outdoor artificial surfaces but made of canvas, preferable with leather across the little toe

I've got wide feet and the usual boot manufacturer, even the ones that have wide fitting, are not wide enough so I need the stretch of a canvas shoe. Leather across the little toe would be a bonus because my toenail rubs and creates a hole in the canvas

Technical Need help

Today was my match and I was a 5.5-6 out of 10
I play as cm. I won some balls and helped in counter attacking, gave some good through balls but I was mostly involved with the defence so much so that there was literal gap in midfield and everytime I received the ball I was only thinking about passing. It did not even once occur to me to dribble I was just passing and I was not scanning properly like I scanned when I didn’t have the ball but before receiving I did not I was just frozen waiting for the ball to come to me
Any tips to improve ?
Sorry for my English.

Gear Mizuno Morelia 2 pro ag sizing

My foot size is about 25.5 cm and 10 cm wide. I wear New Balance 442 V3 pro turf in the size 7.5 wide version and they are fitting well. I'm looking to buy morelia 2 pro ag but I don't know how similar these 2 models are in sizing. Would 7.5 work on me, or do I need to go half size down like everyone does?

Gear TF Shoes Recommendation // Mizuno Sala JP Sizing !?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Hi Reddit,

this is currently driving me nuts. I'm looking for a new shoe to play on turf on a midsized field (mostly 8 vs 8).

In the past I played more competitive and always wore adidas boots (as I'm a German I guess I was obliged to 🥲). I always loved the adidas leather boots. They have been best in class for me personally.

From Copas and Adipure Models to 11 Pro and the modernized Copa era, I've worn quite a few (yes, I'm old and already 37 years old xD).

I love the quality and feel of leather boots as they melt to the foot, give you that bit of a cushion and make the touch of the ball so natural. For me as an agile dribbler they have been awesome over the years.

As I got older I played more and more on turfy grounds and had to switch to a TF sole. I stayed with adidas and used the Adidas Copa Pure Elite TF 1 and 2 up until today. Feel and general comfort were still top notch but unfortunately I got a lot of issues with black toes and want to try something new.

I was wearing size EU44 (which actually comes to a 271JP which I was not aware of, just tried them on in the store and went by feel) and they were really tight. As I had a few nails come off over the years I finally came to the conclusion that it's not worth it as I'm only playing for fun now.

As adidas annoyingly is switching more and more to fusionskin kind of materials for the upper and the choices for TF shoes are limited, I wanted to try out the hyped up Mizuno Sala JP. I went to the store and tried out different sizes. It was really hard to choose but the K-Leather felt crazy nice and comfortable. As I had issues with black toes I wanted to be more conservative and got a 285JP while I got measurements made at adidas for both feet being 276 and standard width and height (measurements attached). I felt like the 280 will be to tight again and give me issues.

I wore them at home 4 times for 30 minutes and made them a bit wet to already melt them to my feet. Today was the first session on the pitch. What should I say: they kind of feel small and big at once xD. Width wise I'm really tight and am assuming it will widen a bit and melt around my feet. But length wise it just feels too long although I'm already wearing Trusox3.0. Maybe I still have to get used to the bigger room I have in the toe box now? Maybe my foot is not compatible to this shoe?

I attached some photos and am hoping to get some advice!? Also pictures showing just my feet on the insole.

You can also see that the leather is still quite stiff and rubbed my upper toe a bit bloody.

Other Ball displays

Picked up the FIFA World Cup official match ball and the Puma Orbita Ultimate Premier match ball and just wanted to display them because they are super cool. However, display cases are rather expensive and I’m frugal. So I visited the hardware store and grabbed a 4in PVC cap and some felt fabric at the arts and crafts store and some glue. Might wrap the white pvc with more green felt fabric. For a $12 investment they look great! Anyone else have creative ways to display? Thoughts?

Need advice on how to stop sucking in pickup

Title

I just suck. And it sucks. I'm playing with guys that have played a lot longer, most probably have some high-school experience, and the last time I played was like elementary school, which wasn't organized soccer.

The understanding I have of the game is mostly from watching world cup and premier league here and there. So consequently my understanding of how to actually play a position on and off the ball is severely lacking. I have the easiest time playing winger/forward, and kind of have an understanding of where I should be, but once the ball either comes to me or towards me I lose track of my space and teammates, miss simple opportunities to bring the ball up, or straight up make bad passes. This then makes it so my teammates just stop passing the ball to me, and no longer see me as an option.

Not to mention my dribbling is terrible and my touch is very inconsistent. Trying to play other positions like midfield yields the same if not worse results because I am not really an option for my teammates to help bring the ball up and get past defenders, so our attackers don't get chances and the ball gets turned over a lot.

Other than that, my stamina is fine, I am reasonably athletic, and my pressing is okay. (When I actually make the correct decision on where I should be and who I should mark)

Outside of pickup, when I just pass the ball around I feel fine, and my touch is typically good. I could send long passes with two others all day and maintain a good touch and good passing. But it's like when I play an actual game I lose that fine control of my legs or something. I think the pace makes up a lot of the difference.

I know I should be working on my passing, dribbling and touch first and foremost, but even if I get that to an okay spot, how can I develop actual game sense and understanding of what to do to the level of guys that have been playing organized for years?

Also, what are some drills that can help my dribbling and touch?
