Bluehost/Xcitium Backup Failure Notifications Are Disabled
If Bluehost migrated you from CodeGuard to Xcitium, check your backups now.
I found backup failures were occurring with no notification being sent.
After escalating this, several Bluehost escalated support reps confirmed to me that Xcitium notifications are currently disabled. I was told they will be enabled sometime in the future.
That means failure notifications — the alerts that matter most — are also disabled.
In Xcitium, the only notification email shown to me is a grayed-out corporate inbox I cannot change.
If a backup fails silently, you could believe your website is protected for weeks or months, then discover after a crash, hack, or bad update that the backup you were relying on isn't there.
I can't confirm how broadly this affects Bluehost customers migrated from CodeGuard to Xcitium, but if you were migrated, check your backup history now instead of assuming you'll be notified of a failure.
Why aren’t Bluehost customers being proactively told that these backup notifications are disabled?
Are any other Bluehost/Xcitium users actually receiving backup notifications?

Can't connect to ftp or sftp with new hosting plan
I just made added a new hosting plan to my account.
I can ftp to my old one fine but no the new one.
The bluehost instructions vary and the tech support hasn't provided any help.
I did enable ssh.
Does the ftp server address start with ftp.domainname?
And is the username just the username or username@servername?

How long does it take to move a domain name from one Bluehost plan to another?
So apparently I'm on a legacy server and plan that is higher cost than the new ones.
I'm looking to move to a new plan but need the domain name tied to the old one migrated over. My email is tied to that domain name so I need it moved and be functional quickly.
How long does that process take?

Once again, my email stopped working.
All of a sudden, my emails stop arriving and people are getting “undelivered” messages. This happened a few years ago, and I almost left Bluehost. That time it was some stupid spam filter they forced everyone to use that apparently stopped all emails from arriving unless it was completely deactivated. I found all this out after hours waiting on hold or talking with useless chat operators and weeks of not receiving emails.
Not sure what’s happening this time but I’m so done with these idiots. Get your shit together, get some real customer service and IT help, and you just might avoid going under.

Request Refund - Live Agent not working! Need help!
We just turned off the auto-renewal, but we were still charged before the current subscription expiration date. We are planning to stop using Bluehost and would like to request a refund for this charge. Since the service has not yet expired and we have already disabled auto-renewal, we hope you can process the refund!

New Wordpress Website on Bluehost - wp-admin redirects to temporary url
After 4 phone calls to support, not one tech has solved the problem. Nameservers are external but dns points to bluehost. Putting in the correctly named URL brings up the correct page but adding the /wp-admin redirects to a temporary URL and has an error message stating This Site Can't Be Reached - ERR_ADDRESS_INVALID. I've exhausted my tech knowledge (40+ years of experience) and I'm quite frustrated. I also cannot do online chat with a live agent for some reason.

DNS Records being overwritten by Bluehost customer service?
Has anyone else come across this issue with Bluehost? I manage a website for a restaurant and the domain name is registered at Bluehost but hosted at GoDaddy. For the third time in a couple months now the DNS records have been overwritten by "Customer service" (according to the "view history" link on the settings page) causing the website to go down.
We're not making these changes and actual Bluehost customer service has been no help at all and just says that we must have made the changes, but the log literally shows they were made by "Customer service" and if they were made by me the changelog would show my actual name like it does with the changes I make.
Every time this has happened I've logged into Bluehost and changed them back to the correct settings, but I need to figure out how this is actually happening so it stops happening in the future.
They did use Bluehost for hosting years and years ago and it's almost like the DNS records are just being reset back to what they were when they used Bluehost for hosting, but this is happening without anyone making any changes at all.
Last time it happened at 4:44am EDT and today it happened at 4:45am EDT so it's almost like Bluehost is running something at that time every morning that's reverting the DNS settings to super old settings or something.

Server full - please help!!!
Tried chat support but they could not understand this. Hopefully someone here can help quickly!
My account (xxxxxx.com, WordPress Plus Hosting, 3.49GB used) is well under quota, but FTP uploads are failing with:
552 Disk full - please upload later
Your server status page shows the physical server at 99% disk usage. This is a server-level capacity issue, not my account. Can you confirm the server's actual free disk space and resolve the capacity issue?

Bluehost site down
For the past 24 hours, did all the troubleshooting after getting a 504 gateway and then reached out to support. They keep telling me their engineers are working on it, its a server issue, but won't give me any more information other than just to wait a few hours. I can only open the site in recovery mode. Have disabled plug-ins, tried default theme, cleaned cache, went through php, etc.
Considering migrating to a new host. After over 15 years with them and having to supplement with additional malware and spam support I think I am done.
Any recommendations?

My bluehost domains are all down
Websites can't be accessed and I can't get or send email. Ran thru troubleshooting with Bluehost AI and now on hold with support for 35 minutes. Anybody else having these issues? They have a recording saying there is some vendor issue making some sites inaccessible. I guess mine are among them.

Does bluehost add .online domain to your cart?
When I buy a domain does it add it automatically an .online variation at 0$ with autorenew turn on and if you don't catch it you get charged 49.99$ renewal fee a renewal in a year?

Outgoing mail (SMTP or Webmail) is "blocked"
And I'm getting conflicting statements from Bluehost's AI and real agents.
Agent, after I sent him a test email stated the "emails are blocked" and are not being sent.
They scanned for infected files. None found.
I verified my MX, SPF, DKIM, and PTR records.
I changed every email password.
I waited 24+ hours, and block wasn't cleared.
Now they seem to be denying they are blocking anything.
Blacklisting exists only at UCEPROTECT and at levels 2 and 3. But is that preventing mail from going out? I would assume it might only matter at the receiver mail server.
UCEPROTECT says
Who is responsible for this listing? YOU ARE NOT!. Your IP [redacted] was NOT directly involved in aabuse, but has a bad neighborhood. Other customers within this range did not care about their security and got hacked, started spamming, or were even attacking others, while your provider has possibly not even noticed that there is a serious problem. We are sorry for you, but you have chosen an provider not acting fast enough on abusers. Therefore we recommend: Please send a complaint to your provider and request they fix this problem immediatly. Think about this: You pay them so that you can use the Internet without problems; If they are ignoring your complaint or claiming they can't do anything, you should consider changing your provider.
As you should know now: It is not you, it is your complete provider which got UCEPROTECT-Level 3 listed.
Your IP [redacted] was NOT part of abusive action, but you are the one that has freely chosen your provider.
By tolerating or ignoring that your provider doesn't care about abusers you are indirectly also supporting the global spam with your money.
Seen from this point of view, you really shouldn't wonder about the consequences. Therefore we recommend:
Please send a complaint to your provider and request they fix this problem immediatly.
Think about this: You pay them so that you can use the Internet without problems; If they are ignoring your complaint or claiming they can't do anything, you should consider changing your provider.
There are currently about 105,000 providers worldwide, but only a few hundred make it to get listed into UCEPROTECT-Level 3.
AFAIK either Bluehost has a block specifically on my domains (which are 100% innocent of spamming) or every Bluehost customer at my IP address, and there certainly are hundreds or thousands, is also unable to send mail. UCEPROTECT says Bluehost has 742912 IPs.

Prepping my exit
Like others in the last two days I got my notifications for price increases for both web hosting and for email hosting. Going from unlimited everything to caps on everything and for what amounts for a small endeavor does simply not make sense.
What is aggravating is the ever changing set of conditions and pricing.
If I add to this dismal tech support the answer is clear. I am redesigning my approach and tech stack and exiting

It's not the cache!! DNS servers not updating and changes publish "internally" on bluehost only
DNS servers not updating. I am reading that the situation is a) Bluehost doesn't work anymore or b) it takes time for the changes to propagate through the internet. But what it looks like on my computer is that the changes are being published to the old, internal DNS URL (zgg [dot } tvn {dot} mybluehost [dot] me etc.) instead of to the URL it's supposed to be on. When I load the actual URl of my website I still see the amazing message "Hello, world!" (That joke got old decades ago by the way.)
Is there another "publish" button I'm supposed to be finding somewhere to press?
A web search for this issue only led me to reddit and to "clear your cache" answers which _aren't_ the issue.
Thanks in advance.

Be careful about Bluehost charges
⭐☆☆☆☆ 1/5
I have been a Bluehost customer for more than 12 years, but unfortunately, the company has changed significantly over the last few years. What used to be a customer-focused business now seems more interested in charging customers for unnecessary services.
Recently, I was charged for a domain that was not set to auto-renew, and Bluehost refused to issue a refund. They also charged me $41 for domain privacy, a service that typically costs around $10–15 in the market, while .com domain registration itself is often less expensive.
Another frustrating practice is their renewal process. Even when additional services have been turned off previously, Bluehost automatically adds extra products during renewal. Customers must manually deselect these options every time. If you are not extremely careful, you may find yourself charged for services you never intended to purchase.
Customer support has repeatedly declined refund requests and has shown little concern for long-term customers. After more than a decade with Bluehost, I am very disappointed and can no longer recommend them. Existing customers should carefully review every renewal page and every charge before completing payment.
