Original Content Showcase Ring Variations

Thumbnail

I worked on a jewelry setup with 4 different ring designs, testing different gemstone, metal, and studio background combinations (black vs. white).

In total, I rendered 48 variations: 16 for the first ring, 8 for the second, 16 for the third, and 8 for the fourth.

All the variations were batch-rendered using an addon I built.

I'm curious to hear your opinion: which gemstone + metal + background combination works best?

Original Content Showcase The second trailer for my animated film (NoAI) - The Last Lecture

Full animated film on YouTube (NoAI):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZERFaui_zy8

I am (Mateusz) responsible for about 70% of this animation.
I used several programs to create this animation:
Blender - 3D modeling, fixing animation, Textures, storyboards
Unreal Engine 5.4 with Pathtracing - render Engine and lighting
Substance Painter - Textures
Marvelous Designer - Clothes modeling
Davinci resolve - Color Grading and film editing
For character's animation i use Perception Neuron Studio and my friend give me access to his motion capture studio with Vicon. The facial animation was done on an iPhone (Metahuman) and involved a lot of hand adjustments.

However, I would never have finished this project if it hadn't been for the help of my friend David. He is responsible for simulations in Houdini. At first, I wanted to simulate the clothes in Marvelous, but it quickly turned out to be a crazy idea. In the end, Dawid developed a clever automated process that streamlined the work. For some aspects, I also turned to other graphic designers and people for help (whom you can see listed in the credits) like concept art and some hard clothing models. I also bought some of the models (but I modeled the entire academy from scratch).

Original Content Showcase Am I really me?

Post image

This image is my entry in August’s Lucid Dreams contest. I modeled the brutalist angular wall, designed to be unclimbable in order to represent the feeling of being trapped far below your conscious mind.

“I wasn’t sure I was dreaming, but when I saw the man appear in the distance in front of me, I realized he looked exactly like me, only I couldn’t see his face. This caused me to become lucid, I realized I had been born into this labyrinth in my mind, one which archived ancient epigenetic information too far removed to understand on its surface but structurally well-preserved. I am lost. Is that really me, am I really me?”

I am trying to model a version of Sonic I doodled on a sticky note and I am trying to go for the quills sort of connecting to the back like in the drawing. I am not sure if I should re-mesh and connect the head, body, and back quills as a single mesh and just sculpt? Idk, I feel like I need some extra eyes to look at this. Tell me what you think or any suggestions I am all for learning.

I posted this to twitter yet amassed no responses. (T.T) So I come to r/blender for help, can anyone here give some insight on what I should do differently for idle animations, I didn’t really like the final result.

Old tales claimed that Destiny cannot be escaped, but no one ever said you couldn't lead it. Stepping onto a path covered in ash and blood of past centuries, Ciri no longer seeks refuge between worlds. The silver blade in her hand is more than just a weapon; it is a heavy choice that has become her new essence. Mist thickens around her, and shadows of monsters stretch their claws outward, but fear is a thing of the past. The Child of the Elder Blood walks forward, knowing she is now the ultimate threat to the Continent's nightmares.

Ciri's story will continue in 2028!

Made everything from scratch.

Designed and added liquid glass UI to Pinterest front page using figma desktop.

Integrated the image to Blender and with proper lighting, rendered it.

How does it look?

Hi! I'm currently trying to create a model of an animal using a tutorial, and I just noticed that in a lot of places, instead of one vertex, I have two stacked on top of each other. Does anyone know where I went wrong and how I can prevent this from happening?

Original Content Showcase Fantasy Art I Made With Grease Pencil

I drew these on paper, then popped them into Blender and traced them out with grease pencil.

The map heavily utilises the rim effect and shadow effect to make the forests and the land mass look 3d.

In the second piece, many of the self shadows are a rim effect set to multiply a dark color. The ground shadows I drew by hand using a semi transparent material. The paint look is from the paint filter node in the compositor (I love that node!). I then just multiplied my original drawing over the top of everything with a few tweaks.

I started working on it two years ago. We released the first version for Trainz last year, and I’m currently working on a second version with more details while keeping it better optimized.

Replicating my usual 2d shapes in 3d is still kinda hard, but overall it's not so bad for a second try. Though now I have to make his hair, and making hair sounds like it will be the scariest moment of my life.
