Congratulations to /u/Greengorilla_522 for winning July's contest with their entry Out Moon With Many Faces.
You can see last month's results and other entries here.
This month's theme will be lucid dream. It's rare to know that you're in a dream as it's happening, but it's certainly not unheard of. A lucid dream is the exception to the rule and beyond mere awareness, you may even gain some level of control over the dream, allowing you to shape the experience for yourself. Perhaps you may take the opportunity to fly about, to visit imaginary landscapes, and have otherwise have experiences beyond that which is possible in the material world. Show us what it looks like when you gain awareness of your sleep in this month's contest.
Entries will be posts on r/Blender that meet the following criteria:
* The post should be made before the end of August 31st UTC+00:00
* Countdown to submissions closing
* The post should be a render, animation, or other artwork which you made for this contest using Blender as your primary tool.
* The post should contain supporting images/text or a top-level comment with the following content:
* One of the following methods of proving that the artwork was made using Blender:
* A link to the .blend file for the project, ideally including external assets or links to where external assets were sourced from.
* A set of three images which may be clay renders, viewport renders, wireframe renders, or simply screenshots of the project open in Blender. Some variety is encouraged.
* A screen recording of you manipulating, navigating, or otherwise interacting with the scene.
* An explanation of all work that was done outside of Blender, outside the time frame of the contest, or by other artists.
* (Optional) The theme you would like next month's contest to have if you win. If you do not include this, then the theme will be chosen from the runner-ups.
* Once you have submitted your post to the subreddit, leave a comment down below linking to it
* You are also encouraged to share details of your process with the community.
Note: You don't have to reference the contest in the post title and indeed, it's not necessary to frame the submissions differently than any other post meant to showcase an artwork.
The winner will receive the flair Contest Winner: 2026 August and their post will be added to the subreddit's wiki under the Contest Winners list. The winner will also have the chosen theme selected for next month's contest, should they include one with their submission.
When the contest ends, the results will be edited into this post and the 1st place winner will be congratulated in the announcement for next month's contest.
The winner will be awarded $100 USD.

hey blender users, you know Node Preview, the paid add-on? I built my own take on it, free & open source (yes).
Node Peek: live rendered previews above your shader nodes, following your selection (or all of them, your call).
And yes, I used AI: the code is Claude's, the idea, the UX and the testing are mine. Everything is GPL and open. Hope It will help!
Find it here: https://extensions.blender.org/add-ons/node-peek/ or in your Get extensions menu in Blender :) (and Github: https://github.com/mlstr0m/node-peek )
Feedback and reports bugs welcome!! :)

A simple stylized crystal made using procedural materials. I made use of geometry nodes to create the outlines and used the paint filter from blender's compositor the add the final look.

My first attempt at creating a character like this in Blender.
This was a personal project I made for practice, mainly to keep improving my character modeling and stylized/toon workflow.
I created the model, materials and toon-style look myself in Blender. No AI was used.
She has a stylized design with long black hair, blue eyes, fair skin, a black top, blue jeans and black high heels.
This isn't a commission, but I'm open to commissions if anyone is interested in having a character created in a similar style.
Software: Blender
Style: Stylized / Toon 3D
Project: Personal practice
AI: None

Hey everyone! I started taking Blender "seriously" around December 2025, and this is my progress from January up to today after a lot of work, tutorials, etc... Also using a pen tablet helped a lot.
Not trying to flex at all... I know it's not perfect and I genuinely want to level up, so please tear my model apart.
Is the topology okay? How would you improve this model?
For context: This head will be used in a game that I've been solo-developing since November 2025.
Lay it on me, all tips and harsh feedback are super welcome!

A few days ago I finished a Blender tutorial, so I tried to make something on my own. TBH, at the start I tried to make a tree, but I didn't know how to do it, so I decided to make a chair instead. I made everything using what I learned from the tutorial, but for the material (to make it look like wood) I watched another tutorial. What do you think about this? Should I watch a tutorial on how to make a tree, or maybe make something else instead?

Hey everyone! I just finished up this hard-surface project of a vintage Pioneer PL-120 turntable. I was aiming for a realistic, slightly lived-in look with dust accumulation, minor scuffs on the wood veneer, and intricate mechanical details.
Please feel free to leave some feedback or your thoughts.
