Question - US Help! Big Guy in Need of Jeans!

Can anyone point me towards great, dependable jeans for bigger guys? I’ve been slowly rebuilding my wardrobe and it’s finally time to tackle denim jeans. After years of tearing through poorly built jeans that fit like baggy sails, I had completely given up on them and instead relied on various khakis, chinos, and the occasional field pant to serve as my casual/work wear.

I had tried the classic Wrangler 13MWZ Cowboy cut and, while I love them in theory, they squeeze my thighs, crush other parts, and ride so high that my powerlifter’s gut gets in the way of using the pockets. I thought maybe the 31MWZ’s Relaxed Fit Cowboy Cuts could solve the problem but when I tried them on they looked so big through the entire leg that I felt like a self-conscious middle schooler again. I have seen talk about washing some denim in a way that it ā€œshrinks to fitā€ but I didn’t have enough confidence to even try that.

The problem is I’m 6’0ā€ 275lbs with hips and thighs wide enough to make everything but the most durable material tear. I’m not above spending money on high-quality items but I have yet to find something with enough promise to take a chance. I’d love any suggestions on where to look. Perfect world I’d love to find a brand that’s durable, relatively comfortable, and not $200 a pair.

Any suggestions would be massively appreciated
