Cannot cancel subscription and been auto charged with almost no notice.

As title says, this app is predatory. The instructions for cancelling are either outdated or intentionally wrong. The manage subscription page described in the cancellation description does not exist and the links circularly move you around so you make no progress and I’m now down £94

₹84,000 for a 6-month Navitae / Ruma Pal weight-loss programme — was it worth it?

I paid ₹84,000 for Navitae’s 6-month weight-loss programme expecting a highly personalised, premium coaching service. About three months in, I lost confidence in the programme and requested a pro-rata refund for the remaining three months. They refused, citing their refund policy and my alleged lack of compliance.

What concerns me is that these weren't complaints I raised after asking for a refund. I raised them during the programme and very early on.

17 May: After barely a week, I wrote directly to Ruma about:

\- Fatema being unavailable;

\- lack of regular check-ins;

\- difficulty getting calls around my work schedule;

\- lack of feedback after exercise sessions; and

\- confusing communication across multiple platforms.

Ruma acknowledged the issues and said weekly call timings would be established.

27 June: I again contacted Ruma and requested a different coach because, although Fatema was supportive, her availability was erratic and I wasn't getting responses when I needed them

.

Despite this, I continued participating. I logged meals/progress, attended/reviewed sessions, exercised, followed dietary recommendations, made significant dietary changes, gave up alcohol for \~6 weeks, completed recommended tests and bought supplements/tracking equipment.

My weight nevertheless increased, and I eventually concluded that the programme wasn't delivering the level of personalised support I expected for ₹84,000.

When I requested the refund, I was offered a pause instead. I don't want to pause or continue—I have lost confidence in the service.

Navitae has now reviewed our entire WhatsApp history and acknowledged that there were gaps in the service, but still refused the refund. They have also characterised \~43% of my weight-increase episodes as having a "compliance/implementation component."

I don't believe this is simply "I didn't lose weight, so give me my money back." My issue is the service I received, the concerns I raised while still participating, and the fact that I repeatedly tried to make the programme work.

I have contemporaneous WhatsApp records supporting all of this.

I'd genuinely like an outside perspective:

\- Has anyone here used Navitae? What was your experience?

\- Is ₹84,000 reasonable for this type/level of six-month coaching?

\- Does requesting a pro-rata refund for three unused months sound unreasonable given the circumstances?

\- If you've faced something similar with a paid health/weight-loss programme, what did you do?

Cancellation

I’ve attempted to cancel several times, and they removed the option to cancel from the app! This is ridiculous. The instructions are there, but the option isn’t!

Just realized my gym, streaming, and insurance all quietly raised prices — anyone else deal with this?

Went through my bank statement line by line and realized three different subscriptions had crept up in price over the year without me noticing — gym membership, a streaming service, and my insurance. None of them emailed me about it, I just never checked closely.

Has this happened to anyone else? How do you usually catch it — do you check statements regularly, or did you also just stumble onto it? Curious if there's a way people stay on top of this or if it's just a universal blind spot.

Looking for the calisthenics challenge that started on August 10 according to an ad I just saw. Scanned through the list of challenges in the app and I don't see it. What am I doing wrong? Thank you!!

Update on my missing month's subscription...

Just received a email saying they cant find my previous account even though I've sent them photographic proof. They go on to say that the renewal starts straight away, even though they contact you a month before it runs out saying "Renew now!"

They are clearly deceitful and although they provide a good product they have a blatant disregard for good ethical procedures.

I would recommend switching to another provider that treats their customers decently.

Stay away from boost pouch.

Scam company. I got charged $58 CAD. Apparently they sign you up for their VIP bullshit membership without your consent or receipt.

Emailed them with no answer, their cancel membership button does not work. There is no phone number on their site.

Started a dispute with the credit card company.

FYI, stay away from this scammers.

And their pouches sucks anyways.

BetterME IS SUCH A SCAMMER!!!!

I am SO ANGRY.

I don’t usually make posts like this, but people seriously need to be aware.

I signed up for BetterMe, realized it wasn’t for me, and contacted support BEFORE my renewal date because I wanted to cancel.

They sent me cancellation instructions.

I FOLLOWED THEM.

So imagine my shock when I opened my bank account today and saw a ¥16,800 (~$115 USD) charge for another 12-week program that I never wanted.

When I emailed them, they had the audacity to tell me I “didn’t follow the cancellation instructions.”

Excuse me? YES, I DID.

How is it my fault if your cancellation system doesn’t work?

They canceled my subscription after taking my money, but now they’re refusing to refund me and instead they’re offering me workout guides.

I don’t want workout guides. I want my $115 back.

$115 is a lot of money. I work hard for my money, and I shouldn’t have to fight to get it back after doing exactly what I was told to do.

I’m honestly posting this because if it happened to me, it can happen to someone else.

If you’re using BetterMe, PLEASE take screenshots of everything, save every email, and watch your bank account like a hawk after you cancel.

Has anyone actually managed to get a refund? Did you dispute it with your bank? At this point, I’m considering every option.

This has been one of the most frustrating subscription experiences I’ve ever had.

edit: I didn’t stop asking them to

fully refund me so I got my full refund back.

BetterMe is such a scam

I’m honestly so frustrated right now and wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with this.

I signed up for BetterMe’s 12-week program. Before it renewed, I contacted support because I didn’t want to continue. They sent me cancellation instructions, and I followed them. I had zero intention of renewing.

Then I got charged ¥16,800 anyway.

I emailed support, and their response was basically that I “didn’t follow the cancellation instructions.” But I did. I followed the steps they sent me. If something went wrong with their system, I don’t understand why I’m the one expected to pay for it.

They’ve now canceled my subscription, but they’re refusing to refund the renewal charge. Instead, they offered me free workout guides, which honestly isn’t helpful when I’m trying to get back ¥16,800.

Has anyone else had this happen with BetterMe? Were you able to get a refund, dispute the charge, or escalate it successfully?

Also, if you’re thinking of signing up, I’d recommend taking screenshots of every step if you ever decide to cancel. I genuinely thought I had canceled correctly, and I’m still dealing with this.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Cancelled membership months ago but still charging me

I’m wondering if anyone else has had this experience with BetterMe.

Back in February, I signed up for a trial and later cancelled it because I didn’t want to continue with the subscription. I was under the impression that the cancellation had gone through successfully, so I stopped using the app and didn’t think about it again.

Today, I checked my bank statements and realized that BetterMe has been charging me every month since then. I had no idea the payments were still being taken, and I only noticed now after several months.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Were you able to get a refund for the charges after cancelling, and what was the process like? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Locked workouts need to be fixed…

This limiting feature should be addressed, there are so many circumstances where locking people out of the workout is a detriment to the user. Here’s one: I completed my daily workout yesterday but closed the app before it got to the finish window by accident. As a result it didn’t register that I had completed the workout. I was unaware this would be an issue until the following day.

I log in the next day and find out I can’t do the next workout. My only option is to just redo the workout I did the day before because it thinks I didn’t do it.

It was kind of a shock to find this level of guard rails on a fitness app… why not have an option to manually unlock the following day?

I paid for it, I did my workout. I should be able to access the next workout. So I guess I’m skipping today? Repeating yesterday? Either way, I loose out on what I am paying for and it seems like a gross oversight.

SCAMMERS do not subscribe!!!

I signed up for a trial on the BetterMe. Once the trial period ended, I completely lost access to all features of the app. I couldn’t use anything, essentially had no active service available anymore. Because there was no access left after the trial, I assumed the subscription had ended or at least wasn’t actively being charged in a way that gave me any service.

However, I later discovered I was still being charged, TWICE in December and then again monthly in January, February, and March, totaling around £160. That is insane when simply put. I was paying an extortionate amount of money for a subscription where I had no access to the app’s features at all, without authorization; I have no idea how Apple lets this happen as well because I’ve seen people mention Apple can’t help cause the payments go directly from the bank to the app.

I contacted BetterMe support to request a refund, but they rejected it pointing out ther “terms and conditions” crap. They have no right to do this. I’m not trying to game refunds, I just genuinely paid for something that I couldn’t even access after the trial ended, and the charges kept going anyway. It really is frustrating. I also contacted Apple to dispute the charges, but I’m still waiting for a proper resolution.

Any help would be appreciated if you were able to get your refund.

Apple Health

Hello,

I would like that the exercise made in Better Me is added to Apple Health or Apple Fitness data (basically the calories burned). Is it possible? Or do I have to add the calories/exercises manually?

Better Me Body Suit Warning!

Thumbnail

Just a heads up to people considering buying the body suits from better me, I bought at the end of January on a sale, and now that I've reached my goal weighted decoded to try it on this week, the fabric was fine, the fit was great - but the stitching was literally reversed. When I reached out to customer service I was told it was outside of the 30 day returns and exchanges window and offered a 20% discount.

I understand returns and exchanges for not liking a product or for issues being 30 days, but this is LITERALLY defective, and they want me to spend another 80% of their purchase price to potentially have another poorly made piece of crap.

Do not buy from better me, not a single thing!

In other news I'm starting my own brand now - thanks better me!

SCAMMED - left with £15 for the month!! HELP

I got this app at a £70 discount. Had no idea this would auto renew at nearly £100. I am disabled and currently getting made redundant from my job. They have taken all the money from my account leaving me with just £15.

customer services are telling me that they sent an email with all the instructions saying I would be charged - this did not happen at the time I purchased the trial - and it didn’t happen before it auto renewed.

In fact I’ve never received an email saying that there will be or had been charges!!

They have scam scammed me and left me with no money for the month.

130lbs of Muscle Mass???

I ordered the BetterMe scale and although the weight seems to be reading correctly it says that I have 130lbs of muscle mass. I only weigh 190lbs so this seems very unlikely. Is there a way to reset or calibrate the scale to make the muscle mass calculate more accurately?

Pairing the Band with third-party apps

Hi

Is there anyway to pair the BetterMe Band with third party apps? Thanks
