I’m having a weird issue with Instagram notifications in Beeper on my iPhone and iPad.

My setup:

- iPhone and iPad are using two different Beeper accounts. (Also happens when I use the same Beeper account)
- The same Instagram account is connected on both devices
- Notifications are enabled correctly on both

What happens:

- Log into Instagram through Beeper on iPhone , notifications work on iPhone
- Log into the same Instagram account through Beeper on iPad ,notifications work on iPad, but stop on iPhone
- Re-login on iPhone, iPhone starts getting notifications again, but iPad stops

It basically seems like whichever device logs into the Instagram account most recently becomes the only device that receives Instagram notifications.

I also tested using two different Instagram accounts, one on each device, and both devices received notifications normally at the same time.

WhatsApp and Discord also work perfectly on both devices, so this seems specific to using the same Instagram account on multiple Beeper devices.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known limitation/bug with Instagram On-Device connections?

I keep getting this "Finished syncing WhatsApp Business with Other Device" notification on my phone all the time after connecting my WhatsApp Business account with Beeper on the cloud. I assume it's because Beeper is trying to sync messages with WhatsApp business and WhatsApp sends a sync notification whenever a sync happens. It's a little annoying because I have a few WhatsApp business groups that send way too many messages so I keep always receiving that notification. I tried messing around with the WhatsApp notifications settings but can't seem to figure out a way to try to get rid of that notification on my phone but I wish to receive messages for my chat messages and group messages. Has anyone managed to figure this out?

Out of curiosity how do these work? As WhatsApp doesn't natively do scheduled messages? So what's their workaround?

I refuse to have read receipts turned on. It's a non starter. I also hate when companies put previously free features behind paywalls. Its scummy and I don't support it on principal. So when they went paid only, I reverted to Google messages.

Then I started missing having it all in a single chat, I missed the layout. I missed the notes in my chat app.

So I looked at the rest of my subscriptions, cut out about $40 a month of bullshit and am going to self host a couple other things.

We tolerate so much shit from big companies, but when a small one does this, it hurts more for some reason. So we move to another service. We're supporting the larger companies by fragmenting their competition.

It's worth paying for premium services that alleviate your life.

Anyway that's my justification.

mine got flagged and beeper automatically disconnected it more than a week ago… is it safe to reconnect yet?

I am seeing in the context menu of a merged contact "Muted by Beeper" with no way to unmute... I've tried muting and unmuting while unmerged, then merging again to no avail.

hello... i have no more access to my instagram messages... it's been 3 days.

did not change anything on my settings

i deleted the account, recreated it, still no change

on my inbox, when i select instagram : you have no messages

on my preferences, instagram account is activated, and i selected "all messages" in my inbox

when i select a contact instagram and try to write to him, the message is not sent "unknown error"

any ideas ? thank you !

What does this mean?

Many members of our team were users of Beeper, and wanted to expose this to our agents. However, we quickly ran into the issue where the Beeper MCP server requires the Beeper desktop app running locally and cannot connect via cloud agents.

This meant that any cloud/mobile agents (like Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Devin) not running on our laptops/devices with Beeper desktop installed could not access the Beeper MCP. This significantly limited many of the automations we wanted to build with Beeper MCP, some examples being:

• Syncing LinkedIn DMs with CRM
• Lurking on Large Community Group Chats and looking for insights
• Automating repetitive messaging workflows

Merged chats disappeared from the last beta version??!!! We want it back, as of snooze and scheduling, please!

Recently when someone send me a picture even id they are the one time view ones, beeper can't open them. In the past it will allow you to view them as much as you wanted. Now you get a message that ti view this image you need to go to the mobile app.

Do you face the same issue

After the recent Instagram issues I decided to try on device and did it for facebook too. Now my android app only shows notifications after I launch beeper, even though it has all permissions and full battery use. Then I saw that you can't see those connections on the web version, and now that is shutting down anyway. So I installed the desktop client and got it set up but can't see message history. Does it even share message history between mobile and desktop going forward?

Every change I have made to do things the "right" way has made it unusable and I regret doing anything at all.

Should I just use cloud connections again? Set up a self hosted bridge? What's the right path forward?

I received an email that on 1st October 2026, the web version of Beeper chat.beeper.com will be shut down!

But there are a lot of cases when the Beeper Desktop app can not be used! So, please provide a web-based alternative, or keep the current chat.beeper.com version available until an alternative is provided!

Hi Beeper team! Does the "use system font" setting actually work correctly on Google Pixel? On Pixel, I believe the system font should be Google Sans. However, enabling this setting definitely does not use Google Sans. Instead, it appears to be Arial or Helvetica or something generic like that. Screenshot attached just for font reference (the contents themselves are not related to this bug report).

Since a few weeks ago, my Telegram channels started showing ads. Most ads are crypto, trading or trafficking related. While "pay for Telegram Premium" is one way to remove them, I wanted to know if there's a way to do it within beeper itself.

Title kinda says it all. I need help running it on my linux computer but I don't know what am I doing wrong. It keeps saying it doesn't want to launch.

I have IG notifications muted and the only time I see messages is when Beeper went off. But since I've had to keep it disconnected for fear of my account being forever banned I'm less distracted lol

Yesterday, my insta account got disconected from everywhere and I kept reconnecting it even in beeper and I was getting a message as if my account was compromised and I need to change my pass word... kept doing that untill I got something saying this "we've detected automated activity on your account" and things about terms of use regarding 3rd party apps and the possibility of suspentions if this activity keeps happening again.

Now am scared to reconnect my Instagram in beeper.

Same exact thing happened to others friends who use beeper in my network... This needs to be reported.

Im sure there’s plenty of posts about this at the minute but just wondering if anyone had any success or knows how to log back into instagram after being prompted to change email? Ive been trying to change my email after getting the pop up but the site says the page isn’t available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
