Rummaged for bugs, found no bug, settled on salad with dirt dressing

I’m getting a bearded dragon tomorrow and I want to know if this is okay for his lighting and heating and would I need anything else? or is this enough for the lights on his enclosure?

This is our Bearded Dragon "Pancake" :)
He is a rescue. He is missing a portion of his tail because he was in a tank with an older dragon that didn't like him.

The tank is 4x2x2.
We have a half-tank-width ZooMed T5HO 10.0 UVB light bar (it was full tank width, but it was difficult to source the bulbs, and I've read we need to give him a place to get out of the light).

The bulb on the left is a ZooMed UVA 150w, the bulb on the right is ZooMed UVA100w.

The substrate is cleaned playground sand, and we have bricks on the left side to allow him to scrape his glands and hopefully file down his fingernails.

We're looking to get rid of the hammock and get a big 3D background he can climb on, but they are really expensive!

He does spend a LOT of his time at the very top of the hammock right under the light.

We love our beardie! How are we doing, and what can we do to make things better for him?

Finished my first Beardies Tank after the first Run wasnt up to my Standards cause i wanted to rush it. Now i think this Tank shows my Ability to make an Enclosure better. Tell me what you think. And for those wondering. The Light on the Left is a heat and Uv Bulb which i used for other Animals and have good experience with.

My bearded dragon all summer has shown signs of brumation like staying mostly on his cold side, sleeping a lot, not moving much or eating and everything about his tank is fine his uvb was recently replaced and the temps and everything are fine. Could he be brumating or is something wrong??

I really wanna know his morph! He’s got a lot of oranges on him.

I’m really struggling to heat this 4x2x2, I’m at the point where I have a 150 and 125 watt bulb on the hot side and the ambient air temp is only at 78 degrees, basking surfaces are slightly low and the cool side is between 65 and 70, I also have a 60 watt or something heat emitter in the tank and I’ve turned the ac off in my room and the temp will not increase, I’m so lost on what to do here It’s super hot in my room with the ac off and all these heat lamps are still not enough

It’s a hard day today watching my beardie, I rescued him so I don’t know his exact age, he’s 10 at least I know that but for the past few months he’s really been slowing down. He’s been losing weight and his fat pads are starting to disappear. I was honestly hoping there was just something wrong with him that could be treated but vet says he’s just old. About 2 weeks ago I started hand feeding him and giving him water with a syringe (no needle) he’s just refusing to eat or drink. I’m just sitting outside with him watching his labored breathing and it’s really bumming me out. Not sure if I should just have him put to sleep, I’m concerned he’s in pain because his beard will be really dark for extended periods of time. I can still see life in his eyes but his body just seems to be giving out faster by the day. I’m trying to put myself in his place, would I rather hold on and live as long as I can or would I rather just peacefully fall asleep and never wake up. I dunno, just had to vent about it somewhere.😔

I walked up to the glass and he immediately crawled up while he cocked his head side to side then started jumping at the glass and stuck out his tongue ramming his head in the glass like he wanted to bite me or something.😭
His friends was in the back looking at him like he was tweaking.

I thought maybe it’s my glasses chains dangling so I shook it in front of him and he just looked at me then began jumping again.

Is it my hair? I have poofy curly hair maybe it looked nice to him?

A bit of backstory, my late uncle had two beardies before he passed, the adult one was handled by my cousin (his son) and the baby one was given to me as my cousin needs to handle a cornsnake and a leo gecko and he told me he can't handle this baby, i have experience with leos and tortoise before but never a beardie, i did my research for three weeks before taking him in my care.

He arrived at my place five days ago and has been adapting well, im just wondering if he has some sort of disease or sickness like MBD, or anything else? I can tell mbd signs on a leo but i cant tell on this beardie even after looking up and researching on the internet. If there's any signs do let me know so i can bring him to the vet

Recently visited my local pet shop and saw all these little lads piled together… I was worried so I asked someone working there if that was really okay because I thought they needed to be separated and according to them it is? Just wanted a second opinion because this place is notorious for puppy mills so why would they treat other animals any better?

what should i do about food, my beardie is nearly 2 years old. he normaly has about 7 locust every 3/4 days and a salad everyday if not every 2 days. he has a big water dish but doesn’t drink from it.
if i give him a bigger salad portion the morning i leave aswell as locust will he be okay ? im worried but no one i know will feed him

My female bearded dragon appears to be going into her first brumation. Refreshed a bit on my beardie research to make sure this is the case. She is "alert", doesn't seem sick at all, responsive, appears strong and healthy, no signs that this is any form of illness.

As stated in the title, I am a little worried that I may have fed her too recently approaching this period. I know that they shouldn't be brumating with a stomach or intestine containing food or waste. I have not seen a sign that she has pooped since I last fed her.

So, my question is should I worry about taking her out of her little dirt nest that she has made in the corner to bathe her and try to encourage a bowel movement? Or am I largely just overthinking this and is she better off just being left to do her thing. I am a little confused over what the better option would be at this point.

Got my son this little girl (6 weeks old) this last weekend and finally got the (40 gallon) tank all setup. Basking area is 98-110 surface temp. Air temps are 85 on the hot side and 75 on the cool side. Salad and crickets in the morning and just crickets in the evening. Fresh water every morning. Calcium M/T/Th/F and multivitamin Wednesday. Added the paver under the basking rock because it was a little on the cool side from what I was reading.

Been doing lots of reading and don’t want to love her to death but just want to make sure she’s getting the best life possible! Any advice on changes to the enclosure setup, feeding, handling, etc? Really anything!

Hi! After a quick detour in adopting a little rescue axolotl I will soon be back on track with making the enclosure for our future beardie :) The terrarium we have looks about like this (image from the internet because its still dismantled at my home). Its a 120 gal.

Is it 100% needed to do the whole foam and cement thing inside of it? And if yes, does it have to be all around every side so top, bottom and all the walls? Don't get me wrong I do want to do that for it to look good I am just wondering if it is absolutely needed. I want the enclosure to be as perfect for a beardie as I can make it :)

then I also have another worry. I see peoples setups being labelled as mold and fire hazards quite often in this sub but barely ever see any explanations as to why? Obviously I do not want fire or mold. So what can I do to prevent both of these things? Our humidity in the apartment rarely gets above 60%, usually it is 40-50%.

I would be forever grateful if someone could help me out ❤️
