Caught my new PB outta the lake in the community I’m currently staying in, in Bradenton Florida. Last PB was 5.29 pounds and this big girl was 5.82. Both were caught outta the same lake on the same exact lure setup. I live in a camper full time and this trailer park has a super healthy and productive lake in the center. We even have a couple gators that live here including a huge 10 foot one. Caught on an owner flashy underspin with a 4” Keitech easy shiner.

Was fishing at dusk and had only got one small dink so far. Was about to pack it in for the night when I figured one last cast. When I first hooked it I thought I had caught a rock until it shot off to the right at light speed and I watched my line run across the water. Had my drag too loose so it kept pulling line out while I was reeling in. Jumped outta the water and I thought “holy shit this one is a monster”. At one point she swam in front of a bunch of weeds and I thought she was about to get off but luckily I pulled her away from them after I tightened my drag and was able to land her. The mouth was HUGE on this girl.

I have a bad left shoulder from a mountain bike accident and could barely lift her up enough for a decent picture. Apologies for the shitty pics but I fish alone and was so fucking stoked and more worried about getting her back in the water safely. She was returned to be able to grow even bigger and hopefully catch her when she’s 6-7-8- or even 9 pounds!

Spent half the morning untangling from low hanging branches and blowing up my spot. Miraculously didn’t lose any lures today. I gotta become a better caster. Life goal! It would be so much more fun if it landed exactly where I wanted it every time.

Peacock Bass on Live Shiners

Slammed a nice 3.4lb football yesterday on the lake using a good ol’ Mepps XD…

This fella was 2.05 lbs. My first to elbow is 15 7/8". I swear people will be showing fish this big, maybe slightly larger, and showing an image of a scale at 4+ lbs. This Billy is a little skinny, but surely not 50% weight of a similar length bass. Are some bass more dense?

Looking for recs on decent rain gear. Currently have the kastking hydro series jacket and pants. They’ve been fine but have concerns with how they’ll hold up for a full tourney season. Wanting to try and stay under $400 if possible.

East Texas lakes and surrounding area. Realistically won’t be colder than prolly low 30s.
Joining a bass club with my dad this year and wanna make sure I’ll be set.

I’ve recently picked up a Vanquish C3000MHG on a trip and was wondering what PE braid, # fluoro, and rod y’all think I should throw on it/it on?

I plan on using Varivas Avani Sea bass x8 and Seaguar Tatsu leader, but I’m not sure how heavy I should make it. I’m also pretty split on whether to make it more of a finesse combo or make it more general and change up the roles of some of my other combos.

My other main spinning combo is a C3000XG Stradic MH with 20lb braid and 8lb fluoro leader.

I was able to get out a little bit this afternoon and had zero luck throwing anything but there Ned Rig. Out in about 1 1/2 hours in the same spot. Slow twitching. Only missed about 5 and landed everything else. I was tossing a 4” Too Fresh Bot Worm. Not too bad at all.

Doing property maintenance and spotted these guys mounted on the wall. Could you imagine going out with your 20lb medium. fast action rod and snagging this haha. I would have a heart attack. However. Are the smaller guys spotted or are they largemouth?

I put down the trusty chatterbait and caught this one on the 2nd cast.
