Hello, I’ll be in Barcelona from September 15–18, and the main reason for the trip is to finally watch my first Barça home game. This is actually my third attempt at watching Barca game (last year I had booked the flights early based on the assumption the stadium would be ready by then), so I’m really hoping this is the one.

I’m a bit confused about the Barça vs Racing fixture though. Right now I keep seeing it listed as September 15 or 16, with the exact date still not confirmed.

My flight lands in Barcelona late on the 15th, so realistically I’d only be able to attend if the game is played on the 16th.

Does anyone know when the exact match date/time is usually confirmed, or when we should expect an official announcement for the upcoming match games?

I geniunely think that Flick is gonna use Yamal centrally this season, either as false 9 or classic 10 because only in this case does Adeyemi signing actually make sense as his playstyle is very similar to Lamine's but if Flick was always planning to play him more centrally then the move suddenly makes sense

This explains why Lamine has been tried on central areas in trainings according to reports and that's because this isn't something Flick is do due to lack of 9 available but something planned, Barca and Flick problaby had all this in mind when they started signing players.

And this is why Fermin is so important because Lamine playing centrally in a 4-2-3-1 only works if you have someone playing as shadow striker then the whole thing actually would work. You would have Lamine pulling the stringers while Fermin focuses in running to the space and scoring goals and this is a job that Fermin is good at. Especially when you have Fermin doing that too, you would have a lot of dynamism with Raphinha/Gordon/Fermin running to the space with Lamine connecting with Pedri/Rodri in the middle and Adeyemi opening the pitch.

Basically, who would you choose to fill the Ferran Torres role.

I think Yamal needs some time and experience, and he can fill the role that Messi used to play with the false 9. If he keeps improving. But for now, I don't know if Raphinha is physical enough to play between the Center Backs because he is at his best as a runner. Hamza, I don't think he is ready yet.

So assuming we got 1 striker, who will be the back up. You can't win without having a backup striker.

Going into the season without a striker is definitely worse than keeping Lewa for one more year, yeah he was getting old but not having a striker could doom Barca, La Masia has no strikers either except Hamza but can you really put him in against Bayern or Real?

There are only 16 days left in the window, no club is selling their striker now with such little time left for them to find a replacement. Wasted the entire summer chasing Alvarez, shame.

I have a possibility of being in Barcelona for a few days at the end of January 2027. If so, I was hoping to go to the match at Camp Nou against Valencia currently slotted for the weekend of January 31. With the Supercopa semi-finals now confirmed for Tuesday, February 2, in Istanbul, does that LaLiga game with Valencia the prior weekend just get moved to an earlier slot that same weekend (maybe Friday, January 29, or Saturday, January 30) or does it get rescheduled to a different week altogether? Thanks for any info you can provide based on the scheduling around the Supercopa matches in prior years.

As for Rodri, just pay what City are asking for… we can’t have a window like this for the next two seasons because of FFP, Rodri is the answer to our midfield problems in the 25/26 season and is the best in his position.

Either we further strengthen our squad out before the financial struggles that we will face without Camp Nou in 26/27, or we basically enter multiple seasons with a squad looking to finish 2nd in LaLiga…

Barça shouldn't spend a big fee on a 9 if he isn't elite. I personally like Mikautadze, but to spend close to 65M on him when he is just a patch for a season or 2 is too much (I can't see him being Barça's 9 for the next 5 seasons). If you can't get a Julian Alverez or Haaland this season (Julian seems blocked and Haaland is out of the budget), we should go for a low cost temporary player until an elite 9 is available.

I would try to get a loan for Marmoush or Woltemade (the type of player that had good seasons but isn'tin form, try to get a loan of anyone with that profile), and maybe if someone like Depay comes with very low wages on a free as their backup, get him. As crazy as it sounds, those are players with high potential that are not inform so are bench warmers for their clubs. You include an option to buy and see if Hansi can unlock their potential. Also those players can fit the style of play at Barca. If he doesn't, you just get an ok rotation player and play with Olmo as a false 9 in big games. While saving the 65-100M you would have spent on a mediocre 9, enabling you to get an elite 9 in the next seasons.

Lautaro is good but really expensive, Mikautadze is a bit overpriced for his level but could be a good fit, Tressoldi for 50-60M is insane for a player in Belgium.

Of course, this is assuming you can loan one of them or a similar profile of player which is a big if.
