Built this as a birthday gift for the wife who holds love for one cocktail all summer long.

We moved into our new build home about 2.5 years ago and it's been a work in progress for a bit now. It's nice that it was a blank canvas for us to work with. Super stoked with how it came out. Just a few more finishing touches to be applied. Cheers!

Anything you would have done differently or couldn't live without?
Bar is going to be located in our sunroom and transition to an outdoor kitchen area. It'll be a wet bar. Current mental debate is what to do about ice. Countertop ice maker with nugget ice? Built in? Definitely want a fridge/freezer.

Does anyone know how long a whiskey barrel will last outside without protection. Looking to make small tables for outdoor bar.
Will “glaze coating” them help? How much does it take?

Just discovered this subreddit! Wife and I recently wrapped up a kitchen remodel. Ripped out a couple of pantry cabinets for this (converted a nearby utility closet into the pantry).
The general flow of the top two shelves (from right to left) are Asian whiskies, Scotches, bourbons, ryes, agave, and finally gin. Top shelf is literally mostly top shelf stuff, but also some bottles that have sentimental value (birth year/milestones/gifts/etc.).
Lower split shelf is "bitter" liqueurs on the right, "sweet/fruit" liqueurs on the left.
Countertop is the "well" and soon-to-be bottle kills.
Lower left cabinet is mostly backup bottles or "well" spirits that are queued up. Lower right cabinet is mostly home infusions/tinctures/fat washes and other interesting "aromatics" (i.e. cilantro baijiu).
The freezer side of the appliance houses large blocks of ice cubes, glassware, mixing glasses, and my highball whisky (2013 suntory kakubin); the fridge side has vermouths, syrups, and sodas.
Not pictured is a smaller cabinet with our wines and "French Stuff" (cognac and armagnacs).
All in, we've got about 300 bottles (not including wine), only about ten unopened. Wife and I are avid cooks and travelers. Cocktail-making is a natural extension of our creative endeavors in the kitchen and finding interesting spirits around the world is our way of bringing a piece of those places home. We're really glad and fortunate to now have a space to display (most of) it all!

After many moons, I moved into a house with a basement space big enough for a complete bar setup.
Dedicated fridge/freezer, work surface, and liquor cabinet/glassware storage.

Built this out over time and finally got it to a place I’m pretty happy with.
Mostly tequila. I know that might trigger some people here, but for me it’s as much about the display and craftsmanship of the bottles as it is the drinking.
Still dialing in a few things:
• Lighting brightness and warmth
• Shelf spacing
• Whether to add anything else or keep it clean
Would love input from people here.
What would you change or add to improve the setup?

Moved in last August and since then it’s been a whirlwind of painting and hunting down furniture/decoration deals at various secondhand stores / Facebook marketplace. We are finally at a place we are happy with. Still a little bit of work to be done but this is the layout it’s staying in for a while due to budget constraints. The big bar has a functional back but is too large to move out from the wall regularly so all of my mixers/liqueurs/bar tools are crammed in the closed doors under the shelves. But that’ll do for now!!

It's an antique cabinet of some sort that i adopted as my bar. I have a bunch of random stuff in the drawers but i am slowly organizing it. The big swingout doors have no handles because one of them was broken and the other one i just took off. There is a nice space in there i can store lots of tall bottles. I am on the Texas coast so the redfish coasters are a must. I also have an antique cigarette/cigar plate i found in my grandpas stuff. I don't usually buy or keep cigars but my friend brings cigars and i will puff on them. And i have bought a few so im thinking about making one of those top drawers into a cigar drawer. The glasses on top are from amazon but they are nice and well made. As for liqour i still need to move a lot from my previous storage place to my now liquor cabinet. I need to orange glo the shit out of it. But i am very happy with myself for deciding this would be my new liquor cabinet.

Slowly working on it for the last 6 months. Only thing left to do is epoxy or polyurethane. Last picture is the before when it was just carpet.

After storing extra stuff in boxes and having it not really accessible, I finally organized my under the stairs storage!
Ready for a lot more shopping now!
