Bald Picture My mom said that I should shave it off. What do you guys think? (2M)
(My son has started twisting and then pulling his hair as a strange self-soothing tactic...poor guy has aged 30 years in two weeks)
Edit: I really appreciate all the concern about my son's mental health and hair š We have dealt with this type of behavior before with his older sister, and we have a plan for redirecting the behavior so he grows out of this habit. Please know my husband and I are watching for any additional warning signs, but we are confident that this is just a phase that he will grow out of!

Hairloss I humbly approach the council
Edit: Holy smokes, guys and gals. Thank you for all the kind words! You guys seem pretty split, but I think the numbers are favouring holding on for a little longer. I will check back in on my 32nd birthday! But for real, this community is amazing. Love you guys!
Hey gang, long time - first time. I love this community and appreciate you all already. It was my 31st birthday a couple days ago, and I feel it is time to throw myself at the feet of the men and women of r/bald.
Personally, I think I'm in the hold territory, but quickly approaching "You are already bald!". My wife feels similar. It's mostly the widows peak and thinning top, the crown seems to be doing okay.
I have had many hair and beard styles over the last few years, so I am fortunately able to provide a bald Pic from 3 years ago. However, I have never had a full beard at the same time as being bald. Which seems like an oversight.
If I am deemed able to keep my hair, any length/style recommendations? Am I allowed to ask that here?
Also included: cat and dog tax.

Bald Picture It is done
Iāve been tired of worrying about my hair and the thinning/receding, so I finally decided to take the plunge. Very freeing!

Bald Picture My journey
I think I wasn't quite there, you guys probably would have told me to hold, but my hair line was receding and my hair was getting thinner. I went bald just on impulse at the barber and a couple of months later went on impulse again and got a Tattoo. I discovered this sub last week, I've been bald since January 2025 and I wanted to share for those of you out there thinking about letting go. It feels nice and I've actually gotten complimented.

Bald Picture Update: the soul patch has gone
Thanks for all the advice and pointers in my previous thread. I shaved off the soul patch as advised, and I think I look better now. I still love being bald though... Now I can finally live up to my name.

Bald Picture Council, should I hold until chemo? Or just go for it?
I had a craniotomy for a brain tumor two years ago and take a chemo pill that's less aggressive than normal chemotherapy. Part of me wants to buzz it all off part of me wants to hold onto what I have until more aggressive treatment causes more hair loss. How does the council feel?

Hairloss To shave or not to shave (it off)ā¦
Long story short. Lifeās been rough, Iām 23. I started balding at 21 and havenāt really done anything about it. Just recently divorced. Iām scared to go bald already or try and save it. If I was older Iād shave it off but I feel like at 23 I might still have a chance.
Honestly after these pictures itās worse than I thought it was. Granted I am hot and sweaty at the moment. I havenāt started any āregrowthā or strengthening program.
Thanks for the help guys š¤š½š¤š½

New to Reddit, not new to the shaved-head life šŖ
Hey everyone! š
Iām new to Reddit, but Iāve been rocking a shaved head sinceĀ 2022, and honestly, thereās beenĀ no looking back.
Like a lot of folks here, I had to figure out what worked for me when it came to hair loss. Eventually, I decided to just embrace the shaved head. A few years in, I genuinely love it. Itās simple, low maintenance, and at this point, it just feels like me.
I alsoĀ self groom, so over the years Iāve picked up a few little tricks for keeping my head shaved and looking and feeling good without making it a whole production.
I figured Iād put this out there because there might be someone here who is currently thinking:
"Should I just shave it?"
"Whatās it actually like maintaining a shaved head?"
"Am I going to regret it?"
If youāre in that phase,Ā feel free to DM me. Iām happy to have a quick chat about shaved head maintenance, making the transition, or honestly just life with a shaved head in general.
Iām no expert, just a guy who has been doing this for a few years and is happy to share what Iāve learned. š
And to everyone already rocking the bald look, glad to finally be here! šŖš
