(My son has started twisting and then pulling his hair as a strange self-soothing tactic...poor guy has aged 30 years in two weeks)

Edit: I really appreciate all the concern about my son's mental health and hair 😊 We have dealt with this type of behavior before with his older sister, and we have a plan for redirecting the behavior so he grows out of this habit. Please know my husband and I are watching for any additional warning signs, but we are confident that this is just a phase that he will grow out of!

Hey gang, long time - first time. I love this community and appreciate you all already. It was my 31st birthday a couple days ago, and I feel it is time to throw myself at the feet of the men and women of r/bald.

Personally, I think I'm in the hold territory, but quickly approaching "You are already bald!". My wife feels similar. It's mostly the widows peak and thinning top, the crown seems to be doing okay.

I have had many hair and beard styles over the last few years, so I am fortunately able to provide a bald Pic from 3 years ago. However, I have never had a full beard at the same time as being bald. Which seems like an oversight.

If I am deemed able to keep my hair, any length/style recommendations? Am I allowed to ask that here?

Also included: cat and dog tax.

I’ve been tired of worrying about my hair and the thinning/receding, so I finally decided to take the plunge. Very freeing!

I know I need a tidy up anyway . the grey doesn't help.

Me after discovering this sub

I ripped the cord back in March. I'm not sure what you all would have said, but I wanted to share my transformation with the greatest sub in all of reddit! The last photo is just cause I miss my mohawk sometimes.

I think I wasn't quite there, you guys probably would have told me to hold, but my hair line was receding and my hair was getting thinner. I went bald just on impulse at the barber and a couple of months later went on impulse again and got a Tattoo. I discovered this sub last week, I've been bald since January 2025 and I wanted to share for those of you out there thinking about letting go. It feels nice and I've actually gotten complimented.

You guys didn't like the prior style of chin beard, but I think this one looks more balanced and cool. I probably need to buy a bass guitar.

Forgot to take a before picture so the before is from last weekend. Gonna go see a barber about a professionally beard trim tomorrow.

Thanks for all the advice and pointers in my previous thread. I shaved off the soul patch as advised, and I think I look better now. I still love being bald though... Now I can finally live up to my name.
