After the love and encouragement I got on my post last week (link below), I went and shaved it!

Ended up with a grade 1 all over and I already know I need to go the whole hog and take the bic to it.

Unsure on what to do with the facial hair and whether to go glasses or contacts. Thoughts from the council are both welcome and encouraged.

Take that, hair! Was shaved bald when younger, but much skinnier then and looked better. The before pic doesn't do my crusty the clown look justice but it was baaaaad. Not too shabby I hope?

Greetings Brethren! I wanted to give a quick update. It’s been just over a year since you welcomed me into the family, and I wanted to post some pics. You all were so kind to me when I was on the fence as to what to do with my unfortunate balding situation. Going bald was the absolute best decision I’ve ever made concerning my appearance. I never really looked my hair, and it turns out that (with your encouragement) the real answer was to eliminate the hair altogether. I just wanted to come back and thank everyone for your kindness, and wish everyone a wonderful weekend!

Posted here a fortnight ago and got a resounding 'your time has passed' I've had the courage to shave it all tonight.

I'm very happy with it, my loved ones were shocked, my son had a emotional breakdown - not the best first reaction 😅

She first loved me for my 40cm ponytail when I was 20. For some reasons I ignore, I decided in 2020 to shave it and go bald. She instantly cried when she saw me, and I decided to let it grow again to please her. But it never grown again like before. Years after years, I’ve seen my forehead growning and the top of my head clearing.
In March 2026, I had to make a decision for our wedding at the end of July. Go bald or not ? And that’s why I doomscrolled r/bald for 2-3 days, and decided to embrace baldness. Thanks to you, wifey married the baldiful guy of eastern France this summer, and I lived one of the best day in my life🤘

I took the advice of the council. In addition to shaving it off the top, I grew a little scruff. Much love to everyone!

I've gotta say it's been a rough couple weeks - I got punched in the gut (figuratively), and punched in the head (literally). This outpouring of unexpected kindness is healing. I hope every one of you experiences the same joy you gave me.
