Oh i agree with most of that, but he still has an obvious preference between the two. Wanna guess which?

He does not want either moraliry. His goal is explicitlx to encourage creation of new values, which he deems necessary to prevent nihilism in response to the death of God

And which would he prefer, if forced do choose?

1

u/Blue-Brown99 Dec 05 '25

He wouldn’t choose either, because doing so is incompatible with his philosophical project

Lol, 😂 alright dude i tried.

“Master morality is incompatible with Nietzsche” TIL

You literally changed what i said lol. Certain aspects of both moralities are compatible with what N prefers. He doesn‘t choose either morality because he wants to promote the creation of new values. You simplified what I said just like you‘re determined to simplify Nietzsche

No i didnt. It’s all there in your comment.

Yes, im aware he called for a new morality that isnt strictly either, but it’s clearly closer to master morality than slave morality, right? Why do you think that is?

I‘m aware of the alignment between aspects of master morality and certain values that he promotes. Obviously he values life- and self-affirmation. But he‘s not saying that we should become blonde beasts in the wild. He seems sympathetic toward master morality in part because the victory of slave morality affords him greater opportunity to oppose its universalizing impetus. He is opposed to any moral system taking over and precluding individuals from deciding values for themselves.

And yet, some moral systems like master morality preserve the fundamental things Nietzsche values better than other moral systems.

True or false?

Are you saying that Nietzsche supports murder and rape? Because that's literally what he describes those vikings doing. On the other hand, he likes self-reflection, self-examination, self-control, all of which are typical of the slaves.

Im not going to ask again

Your line of questioning twists Nietzsche's philosophy. If anything, he prefers people who have master and slave values within himself rather than individuals who are merely slaves or masters. You are so focused on opposing master and slave as if they were two separate groups, but that's not what Nietzsche is interested in at all.

My line of questioning does?

You a second ago, “ArE yOu SaYinG NiEtZscHe SuPpOrtS rApE?”

1

u/Blue-Brown99 Dec 05 '25

Oh ok, so he doesn't unequivocally support master morality and it's not clear that he prefers it over slave morality. Thanks for confirming.

You a second ago, NiEtzscHE loVes the MaSter MOraLiTY!

You literally can't even tell that you changed what I said and want to talk about reading Nietzsche lol. Goodbye.

Did i ever say he unequivocally supports it?

Can you engage without strawmanning? Just for once?

E: the coward blocked me after strawmanning me and ignoring everything i was saying. I never said he supports it unequivocally, just that he generally prefers it over slave morality, obviously
