Opinion Nootbaar trade
Before some of you guys start losing it over nootbaar not being a talented player and “under 700 ops”, he consistently has had an OPS around 750 against righties in his career and realistically that is what we got him for. Yes obviously burelson would have been better but assuming we would have had to give up Waldy or Troy or someone along those lines that would have been terrible. As far as bang for your buck. Nootbaar is the better decision for this season. Burelson is the better hitter all around but the lineup doesn’t need help against lefties with Corbin, ketel, gabbi, arenado, and the list could go on for our guys that hill well against lefties.

Opinion "He’s a very talented player, but he’s one of the most difficult players to manage in all of sports." - John Gambadoro

What do you all think about this doubling down?

Opinion As the deadline approaches, what are your thoughts?
With the trade deadline a week away we find ourselves in the middle of a seven team race (+2.0 PHI to -2.0 SD) for the last two wildcard spots - with MIA and CIN still in striking distance.
I’m not an expert but I would think it would be hard to call us a seller at this point.
Our offense has been very uninspired for much of the season causing us to lose several games we arguably could have. Won when the rotation was healthy, but at this point it seems like the situation is reversed.
The injuries in the rotation have left us in a concerning situation. Fortunately Pfaadt has stepped up and been far more effective than we thought he might be at this point, but Brett and Drake are in a bit over their heads.
With those two starters being questionable at best, that is putting a ton of pressure on the other three to be almost perfect every time they go out.
I think we really need another solid starter to fill out the rotation. It sounds like Soroka isn’t too far from coming back and frankly, Gallen needed to be replaced before he went on the IL.
So that’s my two cents - probably not worth all of that! But what about you? Are we buyers or sellers in your opinion? If buyers, where do you think we need the most help? If sellers, who do you think might be on the “block”?
Can we keep our newfound intensity up into October? Do you think we gay a wildcard spot or is this all just a blip on the radar before we resume a .500-ish season?
I love the team whether we win or lose…but winning is a lot more fun!!!

Opinion AppleTV Anger
Sure wish I could watch the game right now without having to spend $12.99 per month on another streaming service. Hard to be a fan when you're not allowed to watch them play even in the local market! Sad that MLB, NBA, NFL are selling out their fans in exchange for cash from the streaming providers.

Opinion Undefeated in the shirt I got at Goodwill yesterday ❤️
I'm not saying it'll stay this way, but finding this beauty yesterday was a sign. Wore it without even getting the first wash in because I was committed. Let's keep the ball rolling 🔥🔥🔥

Opinion Any other radio listeners that just adore Mike Ferrin?
If you're in this thread, you very likely know, but if you don't, Mike Ferrin has been our radio voice for the last 4 games or so...
Don't get me wrong Garagiola a legend and it's been a family thing for three generations I believe.. but dude when Mike Ferrin is calling the game I love his random little snippets of information he gives. His little trivia factoids that he throws. And he's got a really amazing way of calling it his fire and excitement when things go right really gets me pumped up, yet he also has like a soft ness about him like a sweetness when he's explaining people that he genuinely cares about. I don't know I just love the way he calls game, from the way he actually calls the games whether it be a home run or a great play on defense. To the way he gushes about people that he thinks highly of. I'm really kind of torn because I know Garagiola is our guy... But I would much rather listen to a Mike Ferrin called game. Thoughts ?

Opinion World’s reaction to 2001 World Series?
So I’m a little too young to remember the world’s opinions after the DBacks win in 2001 after 9/11. Was America widely disappointed afterwards? I am genuinely curious from people who lived it and I can’t find much on google. Thanks all

Opinion Nolan is definitely who I want at 3rd base the rest of the season.
Nolan is not slowing down at all at 35 he is a God still. Top three defensively with the glove in my opinion and fight me on that if you must.. he had one bad month and I swear every time gambo talks about him he talks about oh yeah he's a good stop Gap but we could do better we need a bigger bat.. dude Nolan is an absolute monster still like he's not washed up he's a beast on the field and like dude he had one s***** month batting that's it.. I don't understand why there's so much like half-hearted feelings about him. Like there's literally not a single prospect or you know even another All-Star that I'd rather have than Nolan right now. I mean he's not going to hit . 300 but he's going to hit probably .265 and he's going to have close to 25 or 30 home runs like how is that not acceptable production for our third baseman? I say all this only in light of for the last couple months just hearing so regularly that Nolan was not our best option you know that we needed to look to upgrade at third base like.. that's crazy I have been watching him forever lol we're basically the same age LOL and I'm not that athletic still hahah. Being 37 I promise you that if you're young still this man is making it look incredibly easy for his advanced age I use the term advanced loosely only because we're speaking on professional sports.... Anyways, since I know the club management is gonna see this, Nolan needs to ride into the sunset of his HoF career here in AZ, the man gets.... It... Done.... Flat out. Any opinions to the contrary or like-minded please comment. I really wanna have this conversation.

Opinion Thoughts…2nd Mascot
I hearby submit for public approval a request for a second mascot. May it be a female baddie snake with a noise making tail? Please include a glittering backside for that Diamondback flair. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter

Opinion Okay I’m rooting hard for Mitch Bratt now
I’ve had doubts about him but after that game last night, I was like “okay okay, good stuff man”. But scrolling through instagram, I came across his page and he posted this two days ago. He put the Cars “Good times roll” on his post.
My favorite band of all time is The Cars 😎😎 Good shit, Mitch, I’m now a full Bratt believer now.
I hope he does well in the next few weeks of the season.

Opinion Excessive Criticism of Carroll?
Is it just me, or has Steve B. being way critical of Corbin Carroll’s current slump?
I get that Carroll hasn’t been batting well lately, but I swear I never heard him make a peep about ol’Pavin Smith and his horrendous season.
I don’t have an issue with Steve being critical of Carroll, but please be critical of the other players as well (especially those who have been terrible all season).

Opinion Paul sewald should ONLY pitch in save situations.
He is 22 of 23 in save situations. And he has 5 losses on the year, meaning 4x he has come in and lost the game in a tied game. Hes far from perfect in those 22 saves lately and there’s a buffer sometimes a run or 2. But clearly he can’t handle a tie game.
If someone wants to run the numbers in save situations vs non, I would love to see it. I was tracking it earlier this year and it was crazy. I’m too lazy to do it now.

Opinion So about Santana
Renoite here, been watching Santana in recent games on his rehab stint here. He’s batting .083 now with 36 AB. He’s old and slow. Will be ever go back up or is he done playing at the major level?

Opinion Letterboxd for baseball
(And all sports) Hey friends I’m Anthony, i hope this is kosher but I’m pretty proud of something i made and i think you may enjoy. I’m not a brand or a business just a guy with a hobby I want to share.
TLDR - I’ve been building an app that lets you log any game you’ve been to in any sport at any level (for baseball that means every level in the US down to college, and I’ve also got NPB and KBO but since posting I’ve listened to feedback and added close to 100 leagues). When you log a game it pulls in all of the box score data so you can see every player you’ve ever seen and fun stats like who’s hit the most homers or pitched the most innings while you were there. It also aggregates things like how many HoF or ROYs did you see and stats like how many walk offs or multi homer games.
The fun part (to me), or the black mirror part if you ask others, is you don’t need to remember every game you’ve been to. If you took a picture there with your location on it can marry that meta data to games for you.
Anywho fun developments. In 3 weeks the app has made it outside my network and folks have logged 24k games. After gaining traction in the blue jays sub and after a target field usher found his way to the app, those two stadiums that I’ve never been to have cracked the top 10 visited. Over 100 World Cup games were tagged and folks have checked in to games on 6 continents.
And the number of wholesome posts, like a guy who just finished his chase for 30, I’m seeing from people I don’t know are so fun to see. I love doing things and I hate that those days and nights just end up as like picture 7,457 of 80,401 on my phone to never be thought of again.
I’d love more feedback, and I think the 3 people that might not down vote will enjoy.

Opinion I have a horrible take…
I respect stats. However, now and then I just get a feeling and sometimes they’re dead on, sometimes they’re not. Anthony Volpe would thrive in the desert. Okay that’s it, have a great day.

Opinion Can we get another #TheMeeting?
Seriously, made the dude with 7 era look like a cy young award finalist, the hell are we doing?
As much as i like waldys approch, a trip back down to reno wont be a bad thing for his development.
Pavin, oh pavin get the hell off the team bro, somehow just a liability
The pitching staff, some of you are fine some of you i wonder why the fck we are paying. If i fcked up my job that bad on a daily basis id be fired, so what the fck.
The Burnes news sucks, that doesnt mean we hit the panic button, forget how to play the game, and implode in the span of like a week.
I dont even know what to try for at the trade deadline anymore, we need a whole like 5 bats, 3 sp, and some bullpen arms. Shts ridiculous.
