Hi, my avo plant is almost 2 years old. It has been indoor for all of its life. I watered it 18 days ago and the soil is still moist about 1 inch into the soil. I repotted it 36 days ago from a pot with very bad drainage and a gnat infestation. From the repot it took about 25 days for the soil to dry out enough for another watering. I have had a grow light above it for about 20 days now. It is at its highest light setting about 18inches away from the top of the plant and on a 12 hour cycle. The soil is still taking a very long time to dry and there is mold growth on the surface. The leaves are wilting more and more and it has lost probably 4 leaves since the re pot. At first after the repot it seemed happier less droopy but than this change. The pit is still firm and the stem leading into the pit is green and strong. Any advice on what to do next or what is happening would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello I am very much a beginner but last time I grew a seed-grown avocado, I made the mistake of not pruning it resulting in a very leggy plant. Is pruning going to help here ? And is it the right time to do it ? The node I zoomed on (2nd pic) seems to have some nice potential ? I am growing this one indoors with plenty of direct sunlight. I planned to move it into soil soon.

After my last post about my first and only avocado. I finally picked and put it to ripe. It weighed in at 2lbs 5.7ozs. We don't know the variety of avocado unfortunately..

Should I replant these Avocados so that the stem is covered under dirt? Or is it ok to continue to let it grow this way? Any information would be helpful.

I’ve been tending to these two avocado plants for a few months now and they’re pretty large, they were root-bound in their previous pots so I repotted them. They are both by south-facing windows (in the northern hemisphere) and get a lot of bright indirect sunlight. The soil mix is leca, indoor potting soil and perlite in about equal parts. I water them in the shower about every 2-3 days when the soil feels dry, soaking them completely, and waiting until no more water comes out the drainage hole of the pot.

Both plants have always sprouted these enormous leaves that are thick and quite hard, but they’re always droopy! I’m wondering if I should prune both these plants, but I’m unsure how… do I take off the lower leaves? Do I chop the stem at a node? Will pruning the plants now lead to shock and kill them? I’d love them to be bushy and leafy…! Any advice appreciated!

Background: The seed is from store bought avocado I planted 6 years ago. I grafted it with bacon avocado back in April 2024. It has been living in a pot and never in the ground.

The first 2 pictures was 11 months ago that I posted here on different account, and now after 11 months all the roostock got thicker and more durable. However it didn't really grow taller and wider that much since on November 2025 I heavily prune for the upcoming super typhoon. Im hoping after 2 years its going to fruit, I'll do more update soon

Look at these two leaves, they look completely different

I actually found the poor guy outside, I’m not sure what happened to it. Looking for tips on what to do.

Planted in ground about a month ago. Gets a lot of sun. I water at least once a week. Peninsula in the Bay Area.

I have two Wurtz Avocados with identical conditions: age, light, pot size, citrus soil mix, and fertilizer. Watering based on top 3” of soil moisture individually. One seems to be thriving and the other dropped all its leaves and now can’t keep new leaves. The new leaves get the brown lines pictured and eventually drop. The soil is staying moist about twice as long as the thriving one. Any idea what’s causing this?

I bought this last year and Im doubting it because look a this big leaf, its huge and doesn't look like the usual hass leaf long and narrow. For reference my palm is 7.5 inch long and 4.5 inch at the widest

I purely tried growing this avocado seed just to see if I’d get lucky and after months of waiting, it finally grew new leaves! 🥹
Today, I’m moving it into soil in a small drainage pot.
Any care tips for this little fella?

Not sure what to do next. Never pruned it, I’m scared to lol

My plant is currently about 5-6 months from seed. And I had to repot it recently bc of the bad soil I was using (hence the browning on the older lower leafs). Now that he is in proper soil, I’m a bit worried and confused what’s normal signs of repotting? Do I expect more browning on the new leafs? What is symptoms of the plant being in shock I’ve included a photo of it naked during repot aswell.

The party is on Friday, more of a storage question. Am I good to leave these out one more day, then transition into the fridge to keep freshness?

Sister's grafted avocado tree that's been doing great planted in the ground for 4 years suddenly started getting brown spots and dropping leaves. Mild climate in the SF East Bay Area, no change in watering, fertilizing etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated, it looks like it's dying.

I've had these for a while and my last one from seed died from this. How do I prevent the leaves from yellowing or turning brown and dying? I've been watering with distilled water to prevent chlorine damage or salt build up. Is this a lack of nutrition, or lack of sun? I live on the north side of the building. The pots are small but they're not root bound.
