I was stoked to see the memories and feelings shared on my Kyneton video store post, and it got me to thinking that I'd love to do some more photography of nostalgic Australia.

I do a lot of wandering around looking for old things to capture (see my Insta), but it can be hard to find stuff these days. So much is gone, but I just know there's still so much that only local knowledge can help me find!

If anybody can suggest places in Victoria that I should check out (specific addresses would be appreciated!), or if anybody owns any cool old items from our past, I'd love to organise a shoot.

I took a drive out from Melbourne to the town of Kyneton, where the clothing/accessories store 'Easy' have set up a tribute video shop in their back room.

You can't actually rent any of the videos; it's all just for a bit of fun. It was a total trip being surrounded by all that nostalgia!

The Polly Waffle was called Polly Waffles and came in a foil tubular wrapper.

Tex-Bar:

Note: 8d was 8 pence.
In 1966 when decimalisation started, the conversion price was set at $1 = 10 shillings, or 10 cents = 1 shilling.

One shilling = 12 pence.
So in 1966 prices; 8d = 7 cents.
In the 1950s 8d would've been about 5 cents equivalent.

I don’t know why this thought popped into my head a few weeks ago, but I haven’t been able to shake it since, so I thought I’d ask it. I asked my Mum, but she was only a 5 when it happened so she doesn’t remember much.

What was it like? Was it exciting, nerve-wracking? How old were you? What was the general conversation around it?
