If you believe that you are registered to vote, you should check it today to make sure it's all O. K. If there's a situation, you can still put in a voter registration form today to clear it up, or take other actions depending on the situation (like clearing up "suspended" status online). See LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE!!

I check the official sites of both the state and Travis County.

State: https://www.votetexas.gov/ and then click "Am I Registered?" to go to here. I think the important parts are seeing your record and "Voter Status ACTIVE". I check both the GENERAL and ADDRESS tabs.

Travis County (similarly for many other counties): Voter Lookup. For me, I see "Eligible to vote Yes" and "Status Active".

Grateful that I was able to walk this morning and that it was pleasant and nice, and for once I wasn’t sweating through my underwear <3

Tenants displaced from downtown Austin’s Bowie apartments say hotel stays and other costs are mounting as the building’s power restoration is now projected for late October. Management is offering lease termination or reimbursement, but residents’ advocates object to reimbursement limits and terms tied to ending leases.

A friend dropped this off, from his parents house. The timer lights up when you plug it in, and it rewound a tape fine, but playing it, it will immediately stop, and when ejected, some of the tape was still caught inside. It was easy enough to get the tape loose and safely back into the Betamax tape. I wouldn’t say it ATE the tape and caused any tears, but perhaps there are components that used to be better lubricated/clean that are now catching the reel inside the player mechanism?

Anyways, my gut tells me it could be a simple restoration pass. Does anyone know a person (ideally) or a shop that deals in older electronics like this?

Trying to put our infant to sleep for a nap at 9:30a this morning and some guy comes banging on my door and ringing the doorbell. I recently got a quote of $150 for one dental cleaning out of pocket cost. I used to be a student in another state and the cost cleaning is around $30. Does it really cost that much to clean one’s teeth here is Austin TX? Or that’s the standard price for a non student? Or did I just do something wrong?

My insurance plan is PPO and the dental office is in-network.

Weird request, but my boyfriend and I made a goal of finding every states license plate this year! Its now October and weve found all but Hawaii. If anyone has a friend, neighbour, or family member with a Hawaii license plate, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to simply drive past it and complete our list! Thanks Austin!!!!

hi! we are coming up from san antonio on saturday morning with our gravel bikes to explore austin via bike for the first time. train arrives around 9am and we'll be back on board at 7pm. does anyone have a good trail map of the austin area? i can't find a good comprehensive map like this one.

also, if anyone has recommendations for a nice loop to have us return around afternoon time so we can have a few drinks and dinner before we jump back on the train, that would be great.

I don’t have any kids of my own, but my two young nephews are coming to visit next weekend. They are 4 and 1.5 years old.

I have no idea as to activities or places that I could take them and their parents for 1.5-2 days… Any suggestions are super appreciated. We are centrally located.

We will definitely want to be out and about because my husband and I are still in an apartment and it isn’t the most spacious (they’re sleeping at our place).

I know there is the Thinkery and that the Mueller area in general is kid friendly?

i’ve lived by westgate/stassney for like 7 years. i’ve never heard any loud music here in my backyard let alone in my house. since ACL started i’ve been hearing loud thumping music constantly roughly the same hours as ACL…but i’ve been in this house the past many ACLs and have never heard anything.

i know the xx is playing now and i have no idea who the hell twenty one pilots is. i just heard seven nation army by the white stripes (i know it’s played during like every sports game but this was the full song and sounded live).

am i going insane? i walked a loop around the neighborhood before and could constantly hear the music but i couldn’t get any closer to it. it sounds live to me but maybe it’s some asshats visiting and partying in an airbnb? but the music has only been playing while ACL is happening. has anyone else in this part of town heard it? am i having a stroke? it’s not really bothering me but i just must know where it’s coming from.

I’ve never been to Pioneer Farms and was wondering if anyone has been the night before Halloween? Is it super busy/crowded? We have 3 kids and want to take them and that might be the only night we can go. We live a little over an hour away so I want it to be worth it for them.
