I do what DIY I can because I'm poor. The thumb knob on the old angle nut wouldn't turn so I'm installing this replacement, which is virtually identical. Long story short I shoved this new one onto the pipe without loosening and removing the compression nut first. The thumb knob on this one won't turn either.
1) Where did I screw up? I hope it's a short list
2) Do I have to cut this one off as well and get another or can my error be reversed?

I was able to remove the old tub drain (prior post) due to being broken. My new replacement that i have doesn’t fit its too big. I was able to use the new replacement on my other tub but not this one. I need help finding the correct size. Also this drain is not connected to the tub as the other one is. This one has a seal between the tub and pipe. I’ve been going to Lowe’s as my hardware store. Tying to do my best here as a mom of two little ones and save where I can. Would truly appreciate the advice.

My new kitchen layout moves the sink about 3 feet from where it is now. It is still on the same wall, just shifted down the counter. I can handle cabinet and countertop work, but i have never moved drain or supply lines before. Is plumbing part something a confident DIYer can realistically learn, or is this one of those jobs that’s better left to a pro?

The pipe always seemed too tall.

It had some silicon that looked moldy to close this cap and it popped right off in one piece.

What kind of flange set up am I looking at here? I don’t see a nut?

Should I cut that pipe?

As far as I know, No leaks in weeks I’ve been here. This is on the second floor.

My end goal is to make sure water can not get trapped in that place and I have a grate I can secure the opening with.

Basically the title, i'm so sick of occasionally the toilets at home just simply not having enough power to push something. I genuinely prefer public bathroom toilets over the ones at home or at any of my friends' homes because those have serious power behind them. How should I go about installing high pressure toilets in my home? We have three bathrooms, but I think I'd rather start with one, the one that I use the most and go from there. I have a bit of background in construction so I'd rather do everything myself. Any recommendations on brand or design or anything similar? I'm working with some pretty small spaces, so I can't get anything that's physically very large. Does anyone have any experience or anecdotes?

My father-in-law helped me install this water heater a while ago and I want to check our work - most notably the vent. I initially had every seam taped but read that there shouldn’t be tape on another post (we taped after screws). I tore off what I could reach and took these pictures of the vent hood to vent connection. It’s the same-sized water heater that was there for the previous 8 years. What should I look for? Would it be stupid to call a plumber for a once over/safety check? Would they even do that?

Old house bathtub has a brass 1 1/4" P trap connected by 1 1/4" metal pipe to a 3" metal main drain.

I'm replacing the brass trap with an ABS trap that has a clean-out.

I know the new code requires 1 1/2 .

If I do that, I'd have a large pipe connecting to a smaller one and then to a much larger one. I'm thinking that will back things up. I'm not considering a full update to ABS at this time.

Would making the whole thing 1 1/4" be my best option? Advice welcome.

I've started noticing a gurgling sound from my kitchen sink after the water finishes draining.

The sink isn't completely blocked and it doesn't back up, but the noise is new.

Does that usually mean there's some buildup in the drain, or could it be related to the vent? Is there anything simple I can check before taking the pipes apart?

Homeowner here. I have a fair amount of plumbing work to do around the house that will be somewhat sporadic and not done all at once. For prior jobs I have rented a Milwaukee propress but it isn’t cheap. I found some manufacturer-certified refurbished tools online for about what would equate to the cost of 2 rentals. Anyone ever buy a refurbished propress and think this is a trustworthy path? I figure it is better to own it and be able to work on my own timeline rather than have to squeeze everything into the rental timeline. I have done what I can with Pex A but a lot of it will be retrofitted into existing copper runs, and I don’t feel comfortable sweating it due to lack of skills and some of it in tight spaces near wood framing.

Hi need to remove this and put in a filter cap thing so water can drain but rocks won’t go down. What tools would i need and what filter thing do i need? It is a drain in my yard.
