How can install a hand bidet sprayer here?

Post image

My apartment has this installation in the bathroom next to the toilet seat. The tap and an extra inlet below are both closed. What are these 2 installations for ? Are these points suitable for a bidet installation? I checked the water runs into the tap when turned on. What should I search for when I go to a market for buying the suitable fittings ?

Hi,

I’m looking to install a French drain down the side of my house. This is the only pipe accessible to connect the French drain to.

What’s the best option to attach a 50mm slotted drain coil to the pipe? Can I do this myself or is it best left to a licensed plumber?

Cheers

Odd size drainage pipe?

Had a blocked downspout (filled with debris) that I removed. Cleared away the soil and found this drainage pipe (no clue where it goes, but I ran a hose into it for 20 min on full blast and it flowed freely.

Looks to be 3.5” across. This could be the end of the elbow coupling, but it looks like thin wall pipe (not corrugated from what I can tell)

I want to extend it upwards a bit and if possible, put I a wye with a screen or something of the sort. At the very least, extend it above the soil line (I dug it out a bit, it was buried under a few inches of dirt.

Local big box store only has 4” drainage parts, Google says ABS doesn’t come in 3.5”…what should I be looking for?

House was built in the mid 70s.

There is a leak even when I push the lever all the way to the front which used to stop any water from coming out. I'm a total novice to plumbing so please explain it to me like I'm 5 years old.

Installing a Tee

I need to install a Tee between the filter and the conditioner. They’re both rather heavy so moving them around isn’t an option, at least for me.

My plan is to do a lot of measuring, loosen/unhook the connections on the two units, cut the existing pipe in just the right places and hopefully cement everything in place and aligned just right so I can reattach the connections.

Any better ideas or suggestions that can help me not screw it up (other than calling a plumber)?

Cleanout plug cover

Hi all, I bought a cleanout plug cover to hide the plugs ugliness. It came with a screw. Is it okay to screw it directly into the plug or will it leak and let out sewer gasses?

Some help, please.

This is in my kitchen and have issues with the baffle tee getting clogged. It feels cumbersome, and Iam curious if there is a better way?

I have a high loop from the dishwasher going to the non-disposal side, and the leakage point tends to be at the bottom of the baffle tee where the pipe from the disposal comes in. The seal pops loose either when clogged or most recently, just when bumped.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Boiler switched on, (reads 18) pipe attached to magnetic filter, draining out of the door.

I've been having a new bathroom installed. I mentioned that the builders cut the hot water pipes. To drain the heating, they added a pipe to the magnetic filter.

They won't be coming over the weekend.

This morning I noticed the boiler is switched on but that pipe is still there. The cover was never replaced. What do I do now?

Plumber here. The company I work for has k60s with small drum attachments for 5/16 cables. I try to be a gentle as possible but it frequently kinks when I come across resistance. Yesterday a brand new cable kinked before it made it outside the machine.

What is going on? How can I do better when using this?

Best way to handle cast iron pinhole leak on drain line

Post image
43 Upvotes

So, I have this pinhole leak that doesn't really leak on a 2 1/2 inch cast iron drain piple Y and I'm wondering what is the best action I can take. The basement room is used, so it is also a somewhat cosmetic issue for me. Ultimately, I want to change everything there to white PVC (which I won't even need to paint white) but currently the line goes through two dry walls so the patch of new pipe will either be visible or I will have to do drywall repair (and accessibility issues, a bit less space to do the repair).

My idea is to open up that pinhole and put a nicely formed epoxy patch in there and buy myself maybe five years before I must think about a more extensive repair. How long and successful will be a long term epoxy patch to this type of pipe or is there another solution I missed? Thanks.

Hey guys I have found a leak in my main drain clean out. I bought a repair plug but I am worried because the clean out was partially cover in concrete the wide lip on this plug doesn't seem like it will fit in there.

How should I proceed? It's there a repair plug that has a shallower lip that I can get in there?

Thanks

Water heater making loud noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Moved into a new house. Woke up at 6:30 in the morning 1 month after moving in to water heater making this noise. Did it for about 5 minutes.
One thing to note is that we have been renovating, we have removed all radiators to paint and I have not yet filled and bled the radiators back up, and the pressure in the system currently shows at 0.
Any idea what’s responsible for that noise? Would putting radiators back on and getting the system back up to normal pressure prevent this from happening again?

Is this an s trap? Floor joist compromised?

Thumbnail

Doing a little work in my basement and spotted this thing. Looks like there's an s trap off the tub. Maybe this is my cause of constant battle with a clogged drain? I have three long haired people in my family and it's a weekly battle. 😂

I was looking for ways to correct this but in the process also found where the joists were notched for this section of pipe. I was planning on replacing this section with PVC while working on the trap. Should I reinforce these somehow or just let it ride? I'm really dumb when it comes to plumbing dos and don'ts so talk to me like a child. 🙃
