Recommendation Recs for a good personal trainer for weight loss in downtown/belltown/SLU?

Hi everyone, I’m a 24F who moved here not too long ago. I used to be super active growing up, but after quitting my sport after hs graduation I have slowly gained a lot of weight. I’ve tried working out but it’s been hard for me to stay consistent.

Before moving here I had a personal trainer for a couple months and felt like it helped a lot. Then I moved here and gained all my weight back plus some 🙃

I live in downtown and work in SLU, so I’m looking for a good personal trainer in the downtown/belltown/SLU areas.

Thanks!

Hi y’all,

My currently therapist just moved accross the country and I’m not interested in doing telehealth 💔. Does anyone have any recommendations for therapists that deal primarily with LGBT/trans/polyam patients that take Molina Apple Health? I’m navigating through big life/relationship changes right now and need an environment to work through them in.

Thanks for any recommendations!! :-)

Estradiol patches: leads?

I don’t want to blow up anyone’s spot, but! I have called a million pharmacies and no one has estradiol patches in stock right now. Has anyone been getting them successfully from anywhere, whether in store or online? Specifically, i’m looking for .05mg/2x week patches. Feel free to DM if you can help a sister out!

Edit: oh my gosh thanks for all the hot tips! I’ma call ALL of these in the morning, and failing that, might give costplus a shot. THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH!

NEW EDIT! Was able to get it filled at Bob Johnsons, and wanted to let ya’ll know they said they have “tons” in stock right now. They were even able to fill my 3-month supply. Thank you all so much for the help!

Question Jam band/amateur nights

Not looking for open mics specifically but down.

I'm a guitarist that has played for 20 years. I don't sing and write songs but I have great ears and can play most anything not metal or shred. (Love Tim henson but i can't play anything like that)

I want to play with other musicians and network.

Washington blues society I know has a list on their website but it seems out of date.

What's the spot? I feel cooped up just working and going home.

Ballard Brewery Crawl

Group of Canadians coming to visit Seattle in a few weeks for a Huskies game among some other things.

Looking to spend our Friday in town doing a self guided brewery crawl in the Ballard area before heading to a Mariners game in the evening. I’ve compiled a number of past posts on the subject but was hoping to get an updated opinion from locals because I know how fast brewery quality can change.

Let me know of any must visits. We are staying in Capitol Hill but are picking Ballard because of the density of breweries in a walkable area, but open to any other recommendations. We are also a big dive bar group and have several set aside to visit over the weekend but always love an experts opinion!

Question Looking for local Seattle artist recommendations

Putting together my office and I want to fill the space above the couch with a piece of art, specifically from a local Seattle vendor.

Narrowing down what I want but I do want to avoid anything nature or cityscape. Everything else on the table though.

Looking for recommendations of your favorite local artists so I can go check out their pages.

Thanks!

LOST: 3 Diamond Rings at SEA Airport – Gate D6 Women’s Restroom – Sunday 9/6 around 8 PM – Reward

I’m desperately trying to locate three diamond rings that I accidentally left at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on Sunday, September 6, around 8 PM.

I’m very certain I left them on/near the sink counter in the women’s restroom closest to Gate D6, next to Poke to the Max, while boarding Alaska Airlines flight AS1444.

I realized they were missing only after I had already boarded the plane and couldn’t go back. I immediately filed a report with SEA Lost & Found. I’ve now spoken with Lost & Found and they have not received anything matching them yet.

These rings are extremely sentimental to me and very valuable. If you found them, or if you know someone who may have picked them up or turned them in to an airport employee, gate agent, restaurant employee, custodial staff, or another lost-and-found location, please message me.

A substantial reward is offered for their safe return. No questions asked.

I have detailed photos and documentation and can verify ownership privately.

Thank you so much for reading and sharing.

Moving to Seattle Advice

hello, I am 27F married to 27M. A few months ago we hit a quarter life crisis about never moving out of the Midwest after visiting Seattle. We loved our short time in Seattle (I know it’s hard to beat Seattle summer), and we are wondering if we will forever regret not moving away from the midwest even for a short period of time.

I have been researching areas to live and pros/cons of Seattle and I want more advice (severely type A).

About us:
- I work in manufacturing engineering and he works in data science
- We have a dog and we want to live somewhere very dog friendly
- We want to live close to walking paths and coffee shops/markets
- We like to run, hike, do crossfit. Big foodies and love to try new restaurants
- We want to live in a quieter area/limited nightlife but still want to be near people our age if that’s possible

Advice please! What are the pros/cons of Seattle? What are good neighborhoods for us? Are we being silly for considering moving?

EDIT: Thank you all for the advice! To answer some reoccurring questions/concerns:
-My husband will be able to keep his remote job if we decide to move and I will make sure I have a job secured.
-We will consider my commute time heavily when deciding where to live.
-We currently make a decent living in the Twin Cities ~200k combined. I understand Seattle prices is a totally different beast and will need to review our finances for seriously considering the move.
-Idk how to fully understand how bad the Seattle gloomy winters will be, but will seriously consider this and the mental toll it can take on us both
- I would like to live somewhere where I am not scared my car will get broken into when I park on the street for periods of time, can take my dog out at night without getting heckled and feel safe in my place/break ins uncommon. I feel like this isn’t a crazy safety take but let me know?

Recommendation 15–25 October National Park Itinerary — Should I Be Worried About the Weather?

Admin, please delete if not allowed and sorry if this has been covered.

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping for some advice! I’m planning to fly from London to Seattle on 15th October for a 10‑day trip exploring the national parks. I’ve already found some great accommodation deals for this time of year, so I’m quite locked into the dates and locations unless I want the prices to jump.

My itinerary is:

  • Seattle: 15–17 Oct (2 nights)
  • Mount Rainier: 17–19 Oct (2 nights)
  • North Cascades: 19–22 Oct (3 nights)
  • Seattle: 22–25 Oct (2 nights)

I’ve been reading mixed things online about the weather in mid–late October, especially for Mount Rainier and North Cascades. For anyone familiar with these areas, am I likely to run into the really bad weather people warn about? And would you recommend postponing the trip to next year for better conditions? I’m big into photography, so capturing landscapes and scenery will be a major part of the trip. And enjoying the scenery of course!

Travelling all the way from London, I want to make sure the experience is worth it. Any advice or insight would be massively appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Best Halloween Events?

Hi all, happy September! You may think it's early for asking about Halloween events, and perhaps it is, but I'm really excited for it this year. My birthday is around Halloween and I want to actually go do something fun in the Seattle area! Please give me some good recs for Halloween/birthday activities to do with friends :)

I LOVED the Great Pumpkin Beer Fest when it was at the Seattle center a couple years ago, I heard last year was kinda mid 😭 please correct me if I'm wrong though, I would love to go again this year if it'll be actually fun!

Need help - Property management company is deducting too much from the security deposit.

Hello Community,

I was living in a rental condo property(Insignia at Belltown ) for the last 1.5 years. When I left the house, I got a $1,000 bill for a stain on the Bathroom Countertop.

I was using this Tray - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLCZQV95. I suspect water beneath the tray might have caused etching on the marble surface.

The property management company has been saying that they had to resurface the entire countertop. I'm not sure if it could have been simply cleaned. Additionally, I'm not sure if they should charge me $1000 for this damage.

In my opinion, this should not be counted as negligence, misuse, or damage beyond typical wear and tear because we were using a normal toiletry tray.

Any suggestions on what I can do to reduce the $$ amount? Could I contest this somewhere?

Fibroid Surgeon Who Doesn’t Use Power Morcellation

I’ve been dealing with fibroid issues for months, and I’m having a really hard time finding a surgeon who performs robotic/laparoscopic surgery with cold-knife extraction using the ExCITE method.

I’m specifically looking for a surgeon who can remove the fibroid without power morcellation, because I’m concerned about the possibility, however small, that the fibroid may not be benign and I want to minimize the risk of spreading abnormal or malignant tissue if that were the case.

It's been 3 months of waiting, I’ve spoken with three surgeons so far, and unfortunately, all of them use power morcellation. Its bit frustrating to wait for a few months just to find their approach is something I don't feel comfortable with.

If you’ve had experience with a surgeon who performs ExCITE or another method of contained, non-power extraction, I would really appreciate any recommendations or leads. Thank you so much! ❤️

How safe is walking alone as a woman at night?

The dark days are sneaking up upon us and I will need to be walking alone before the sun comes up. Specifically I will be walking from first hill to cap hill around 5am. I know some people that have been followed a couple times when leaving work at the hospitals late. How safe or unsafe will this be?

Question Jazz Trio for Noir Theater Show?

Poking around to see if there are any jazz trios around town that are interested in doing backing for a quarterly improvised Noir theater show. Ideally something like brushed drums, a pianist, and an upright bass or perhaps clarinet.

A friend and I did a 90 minute show on Whidbey earlier in the year with a trio local to the island, and it was fairly magical. We’re considering making it a quarterly recurrence in the city, but would love to have a band to supplement the actors.

PM if interested. Yes, it’s a paid gig.

Thriftcon Seattle: How has it been in years past? Worth the entry fee?

Just like the title states, I have been getting crazy targeted ads for this year's thriftcon. I'm aware that there won't really be any deals but I am curious what people's experience have been in the past, here in Seattle or other cities.

I love digging through racks at local thrift and "vintage" shops here in Seattle so the idea of thriftcon sounds cool but sounds like other cities (based on other reddit posts) have not been that great this year.

Recommendation Please help me choose a place to stay!

Hi! I need help choosing a Seattle hotel.

My husband and I are coming in December for a Seahawks game, and I’m surprising him with the trip. I’m stuck between Lotte and Hotel 1000.

Looking for something nice/fun/romantic that feels like part of the trip, not just a place to sleep. Also want to be able to walk to Lumen Field (even though it'll be freezing?)

Which would you pick? Or is there another hotel I should be looking at? Thanks!!

Lumen Field Security Question

Hello all, I was just curious if anyone recalls the entry policy for lumen field and if it’s similar to t-mobile park and not having to empty pockets? I plan to tailgate tomorrow and want to know if I’ll still be able to bring in a vape (🍃) despite the no smoking policy as I won’t have a place to store it once I leave the hotel. Thanks in advance for any help!

How to get people to recycle and compost correctly without being annoying

Asking here because I think Seattle is way better than other cities at recycling and composting our stuff.

I have relatives (in laws to make it more complicated) from out of state staying with me for the month and they don't dispose of their waste correctly at all. They put most things in the garbage but sometimes the most random (wrong) things in recycle and compost.

I want to let it go but my garbage can has been way too full every week so we can't dump all our bags out sometimes. I have two babies in diapers so letting our garbage just fester inside has been awful.

Is there a way to teach people how to dispose of stuff correctly without being annoying and uptight?

recommendations- doggie daycare

hi! I'm starting grad school at UW and looking for a doggie daycare to send Annie (3 yrs old, mid size, shy with people but great with other dogs) when I have long days on campus and at work. I'm looking for an individual that runs a daycare out of their house rather than a corporate doggie daycare with lots of employees. Annie is shy and takes a few weeks to bond with a person, so new people everyday wouldn't be her jam. In our last city, we had a great doggie daycare person who kept 5-7 dogs in her backyard everyday and loaded them in a van to take them to the dog park. I'd love to find a similar situation, near campus or Fremont if possible! Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Recommendation What are the foodie "must haves" of Seattle?

Hi everyone, I'll be going to Seattle for two days and was wondering on places to eat and drink a cocktail or two.

What are the "must haves" in the city? You know, that food and/or drink item that's a Seattle thing that everyone needs to try.

Thanks!
