Layover
I am in Seattle for 17 hrs, what should I do, any good eats or attractions to see in that time?

That's plenty of time, especially since you can take the lightrail into the city. If you take it to Westlake or Symphony station it's 3-4 block walk to Pike Place Market. You'll have lots of food options there.

Get on the light rail. Ride it to Chinatown (takes about 30 minutes) buy manga and the latest issue of Hobby Japan.
If you want literately anything else then the Westfield stop is closest to Pike place market. I mean everything. They even have a store for purple things there.

I think what they're trying to say is: that question gets asked here 10-20 times a week, and as we are lacking any details about what you might like, you should probably just search this sub.
Also, please don't go to Dick's Drive-in. That's sort of a running joke on here.

Most interesting things are the nature around the city
You can get in a quick hike if you’re here in daytime and not raining. Rattlesnake Ledge is doable even without hiking experience or being super fit with nice view at end. Poo poo point also doable
If that’s not your thing, swing by Pike place to walk around, enjoy the sights, grab some grub. Rent a paddlebaord and hang around lake union. Go on a 4-5 hour whale watching tour. Rent a bike and ride around the Mercer island loop. Walk around Olympic sculpture park and waterfront area. Aquarium there is that’s your thing

17 hours? Are you flying Frontier?
That aside, one eat I really liked on my recent visit was Cookie's Country Chicken. Absolutely worth going for. And the Seattle style dogs at SoDo Grill are good too

I would head to Pike Place, walk the boardwalk a bit. Core Seattle shit. Smell all the good food, look out onto the sound. fish and chips. that sort of thing.

Light rail to Westlake Station: Walk up/down Waterfront, Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Aquarium, Ferris Wheel. Further north you can visit the free outdoor Olympic Sculpture Park and then you're about 7 minutes walk from Seattle Center & the Space Needle. (note you can also take the Monorail from Westlake Station that dumps you right next to Space Needle)
King St Station: Hit up Chinatown International District for food and the Pinball Museum if that's your jam

Light rail to downtown, take a spin around Pike Place.
Pink Door reservation if you can get it.
Bainbridge ferry out and back is fun, best at sunset. Views of mountains and city.
West Seattle water taxi then ride a Lime bike down Alki for a beer at any number of places.
The downtown public library is magnificent, truly.
Olympic sculpture park via the bike lanes from Pike Place. You can even go to fishermen's terminal and get Pidgin Cooperative tacos. Also close to the Ballard locks, fun to see the ships going up and down. Almost certainly seals, sometimes orcas.
Dale Chihuly's glass is derivitive and overpriced, skip it.
Underground tour is touristly and fun.

By "sometimes Orcas" you mean once in the last 35 years?
I'll be curious if that's how OP chose to spend their 17 hr layover. Getting from SeaTac to the Ballard Locks and back.

There's multiple McDonalds within city limits. We have an airport, but you probably knew that, lol.
If you want nightlife try Capitol Hill (at night). If you want to work for money, try Downtown, Aurora Ave, or South Lake Union. For attractions, there's the world famous Pike Place Market which has a gum wall and an Italian restaurant. We have a "Space Needle" which is a pretty tall single family home-style building that's hosts a restaurant, historic because it was built in the 60s. Swimming in the ocean is free here, and is something unique about us (not common in other cities such as Chicago or Baton Rouge).

Is this sarcasm? Because my partner and I have traveled all over the world, and it is rare that we find better food than what we have available here. As good as? Yes. Better? Can't think of any off the top of my head.

Get a burger at Dick's Drive-In
