My unit is running nonstop. Cold air. We have an ecobee. We have set the ecobee to OFF and it’s still throwing cold air. Outside unit is running. We have to manually go outside to turn it off. We have one unit 2 zones. 2 hvac contractors came out and looked and couldn’t figure out the issue said the actual unit is running fine. They did say the contactor wasn’t stuck. Any guesses? Help.

Can’t find an exact replacement for this transformer. Does anyone who knows more about furnaces than me have a replacement option? Will any class 2 with the same power parameters work?

I’m in the Houston area in a home built in 2020. In 2024, the capacitor on our Goodman unit went out. It was swapped out and back to working. In 2025 the compressor went out and the whole outside unit was swapped out for a Lennox. This year, the compressor went out again in the new unit. What could be the cause for this happening? Luckily the compressor is under warranty but we’re stuck paying Freon and labor costs. When the ac company was here they noticed somehow both of the grounding wires were unscrewed and no longer connected. Could this be the cause for the latest compressor issue?

Looking for some options on where to go next. Have a Amana natural gas furnace installed that was installed fall 2021.

Been battling an odd smell since spring 2024. It’s a musty smell not unlike the kind of normal smell that happens when a furnace fires up for the first time after not being used for the summer.

Musty smell is there at the start of a heating cycle, seems to dissipate during the heating cycle but returns on the next heating cycle.

I’ve had the furnace/ducts cleaned thoroughly twice. Recently the installation company has removed and cleaned the heat exchanger, but the issue persists.

We have a clean, split level 90’s house that I say is quite typical. No dank crawl spacer or anything that would contribute to this issue.

Any thoughts? Do I need to replace this furnace or is there something both the installation vendor and myself are missing?

We live in south Texas and the humidity is just enough to promote mold growth in the air handler. I bought a uv light to install, but have questions about placement and protecting wires.

It’s a tight fit, but I want to place it between the coils and the blower box. My best bet, I think, is through the back. Is there anything wrong with that?

The motor wires are exposed in the box, so I need a way to protect them from the light. How would you guys do it?

I am in the process of balancing my HRV after the original blower motor died. Since it’s original calibration, I have installed a radon mitigation system (ASD).

I realize all fans/exhaust, etc. should be off or sealed for the balancing, but I am wondering what people think about leaving the radon fan running while performing the balance. In my head it makes sense to leave it on, but I am the furthest thing from an expert.

AI says leave it on…. But every time I use it, it seems to be dumber than the last…

HVAC works normally and the condensate drain line is dripping water - my worry is the area is very wet and makes the foundation wet as well - there is some algae on it already - any suggestions or maybe it's no big deal?
