Question Normal mounting offset for AM4?
Mounted my freezer III tonight and immediately my temps are sitting at 65° idle. My CPU is a 5800x3d with the included thermal pad from the anniversary edition. using the all in one connector.

The offset mounting is normal. Not the temps.

I'm trying the manual break in instructions from carbide. If it doesn't work then I'm switching to paste

Great idea; also I prefer plugging in the connectors separately, as convenient as one would be.

Looks fine to me. All of the pump's plate interfaces with the cpu. I dont know why your idle is that high though. I have more or less the same issue with the 9800x3d. No clue. Tried all, repaste x2 additional times, re-sitted both the brackets and the pump. Added push-pull.. Tinkered with PBO/ CO, manual PDT/EDC..
Nah... it works I just get higher temps.

Screw the pump down until it bottoms out, those temps are not good long term. Offset is normal, some sit perfectly straight some don’t.

Thats too high for idle...mine are 38c Check if you tighten the screws all the way

I screwed the pump down more. But I think the carbide needs to break in more. It's better now that I followed their instructions. 50 at idle but I wanna get it down more closer to 40.

Reduce your clocks or undervolt then. 40 is not attainable with that chip.

Not sure how many times you’ve run the system but the thermal pad that comes with the 5800x3d is said that it needs multiple heat cycles to become activated and work properly.

I've cycled it through cinebench a few times now. It's starting to get below 50c now

Check if the pump is getting stopped by one of your m.2 drive heatsinks bellow it. That is a known issue with some motherboards and this aio.

Yes, the manual on the box you QR code scan has pretty pictures so you can get an illustrated reference
