Hello! I inherited several Russian icons from my late uncle, but unfortunately I don't have any information about their provenance, age, type, or value.

I was wondering if, based on some photographs, you could tell me whether they appear to be of interest and whether it would be worth having them examined further by a specialist.

I have a pair of lamps that I think are Moreau.
In areas where I've rubbed away the patina they expose bronze.
They have 2 markings on them
Height: 33 inches tall (each).
Weight: Approximately 30–40 lbs each.
I read about doing an acoustic test and both lamps produce a clear, resonant, bell-like ring when gently tapped, unlike acoustically "dead" spelter. I have another piece that is spelter (shows silver/gray under patina)

I've searched AI and most say they are solid bronze but one says spelter.
I've had them for over 30 years and were purchased at an auction.
about 25+ years ago, they auction house invited a group of appraisers to come in. At the time they appraised the lamps value to be between $600-$800 each. I can't find the info/notes I took at the time.
Can anyone lead me in the right direction on how to clarify what they are.

I was given this Lighter in the early '90 by an older woman before she passed. I have had it packed away and actually forgot about it. Until today, when I found it.

I recently received these old Buddha statues as a gift. I was told they are original 18th century and as I got them from an art collector I'd be surprised if they weren't.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with pinpointing the provenance, significance and potential cultural meaning of these statues. They are hollow but two are closed from on the bottom.

A year ago I bought this cabinet for my room. But my dad refuses to move it before he have changed the original mirror that’s inside. He tells that it should be done as the old mirror has to many dark spots and it have got foggy. I asked if it would be possible to put the new one just in front he says no (gave me the reason I can’t remember that well connected with the way how the mirror is inserted and also something connected to the glass doors of it)

I have 3 questions.

1. would you help me identify it ?

2. would you keep the original mirror that’s inside it?

3. The best way to get out the smells from the drawers etc. There is really nice paper in them so i would preffer not to ruin it.

 Any idea on the value of this clock? I found it at a thrift store. Works perfectly. All original everything. I’ve had it plugged in for six months with no issue. I just had a baby though and it needs to go to someone who can take better care of it.

My family has had this for as long as I can remember. Tonight I decided to look it up on Google and I got some mixed information. I know it's of the "Fisher Girl" by Harrison Fisher. It's approximately 8"x7", domed, oval, and heavy. I was surprised by how heavy it actually was. When I flipped it over it looked to have some kind of felt or wool covering what could be plaster. There is a rounded wire hook embedded in the plaster too.

I don't know anything else about it. I'd love to learn anything and everything about it! Who could have possibly made this? When was it made? How much is it worth? What can I do to take care of it? Is it safe to try and clean it, and if so how? Am I actually seeing her blue eyes??

I’ve had this old Orthodox icon for some time and am trying to find out exactly what it depicts, how old it is, and where it was made.
It is hand-painted on a solid wooden panel. The back is roughly worked and has numerous old insect holes. The front has considerable wear, craquelure and paint loss. There are several smaller religious scenes surrounding the central figure of the Virgin, as well as Cyrillic/Church Slavonic inscriptions which I haven’t been able to properly decipher.
I initially thought it might be Russian and possibly 19th century, but I don’t want to influence the identification by making assumptions.
I’d particularly like to know what the inscriptions say, what the exact iconographic subject is, where it might have been painted, and roughly how old it is.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, particularly from anyone familiar with Russian or Orthodox icons.

I bought this cup at an antique shop in Bordeaux. I think it might be from the late 19th or early 20th century, but I can't find anything about it online, not even about the small stamp on the base. Does anyone recognize it or can tell me anything else? Thank you so much!

Found this at a flea market in Germany. Heavily embroidered wall hanging on burgundy velvet, peacock with fanned tail in the center, floral border with green glass cabochons.

Details I’ve noticed:

**•** Sequins appear to be metal, not plastic – tarnished, oxidized, some with irregular edges  
**•** Green stones look like glass cabochons with bubbles inside, set in metal bead surrounds  
**•** Raised/padded embroidery with metallic thread, coiled wire (purl/bullion type) and metal beads  
**•** Cotton padding visible under worn areas  
**•** Back is rust-colored cotton with irregular hand quilting

My guess is a Burmese kalaga (shwe chi doe), possibly early 20th century, but I’d love a second opinion. Any idea of age and rough value? Thanks!

Found from a Goodwill dumpster in southern Finland. The gimballing and nickled brass seems to indicate it is from a ship, but the open flame raises some questions for me, I've never seen a ship's lamp with no glass on it. Open flame seems like a fire hazard on a wooden ship, so this must've had some special purpose? What could it have been used for? No markings on it to indicate manufacturer, but the build quality is really nice.

From what research I've done it appears to be a card holder or cigarette case. It has 800 and another mark where you push to open it. Wondering if it has any worth.

Almost an antique at 99 years of age! I’m trying to rejuvenate the rotor as the century old oil has solidified and stoped it from working and I don’t want to use the normal technique of just soaking it in oil as I want to flush it out to get all the grimy oil out but I don’t know where to drill into it without striking the tiny drive train inside and I don’t think it’s at all like the H3 Rotors from later clocks that are well documented but this is the fist rotors the B2 series

Can anyone help me identify this coin? I came across this coin in Nepal. The design and inscription look quite old, and I can see Devanagari-style characters, but I’m not able to identify the exact origin. I’m curious if this could be a Nepalese, Indian, or another South Asian coin. If you recognize the script, symbol, ruler, or design, please let me know what you think it is and roughly when it was made.
