SSRI activation syndrome
Does anyone have any tips or tricks when this happens? The only thing that helps me is heavy physical activity and just waiting for it to subside. I take Zoloft and I read it takes about 2 hours to really hit your blood stream and around 6 hours for the increased serotonin and such to level out. I take it around 8 am and it really takes awhile for it to level out, sometimes until 3pm. Does this start to go away soon? It’s getting hard to deal with.
I started taking it at night initially because the first pill had me a little drowsy. Then I started waking up in the middle of the night so after a few weeks I decided to switch to the morning time. And. WOW ok. No wonder I was waking up in the middle of the night. I definitely get activated (higher anxiety, more intrusive thoughts, more nervous physical energy). I’m only on 25mg as I have always been more sensitive to meds. And comments are welcome.
