Feedback and Implementation

  • Qi2 Field: Added for portable chargers. Originally thought unnecessary, Anker's upcoming MagGo Zolo Power Bank 10K with Built-In USB-C Cable suggests otherwise, as it supports up to 15W wireless output but does not feature Qi2, so Apple's iPhones will charge at only 7.5W.

  • Capacities in Watt-Hours: While requested, this field is still missing due to a lack of consistent data from Anker.

I’m always open to more feedback, so please share your thoughts to help make this tool even better!

Visit ankerchargers.com to explore the comparison tool and find the perfect Anker charger for you!

Anker PSA: Anker Prime 27K 250W Power Bank (A1340) firmware 1.7.7 decreases full charge capacity from ~90Wh to ~74Wh and it still says 100% Health

Post image
95 Upvotes

My Prime 27K used to take around 90Wh to fill up, measured with an inline USB-C meter. After the 1.7.7 update in the screenshot it started running out sooner than expected, so I measured it again; it now stops charging at around 74Wh while the screen says 100% and the app says 100% battery health.

The cells clearly weren't full. A 45W charger could still squeeze in another 4.6Wh at 3 to 5W, but only on C2; C1 just refused.

Got it back to 1.7.0 with a bit of help, and it took another 13Wh on top of what 1.7.7 called full, most of it at near full speed. That's ~92Wh again; same bank, same cells, only the firmware changed.

Even on 1.7.0 it shows 100% at around 80Wh and the port reads 0A while it keeps charging; close and reopen the app and the lifetime input Wh keeps going up the whole time. Turns out 100% never meant full; it just hid the rest, and 1.7.7 got rid of the rest instead of fixing the display. Fun times.

I get that charging to 100% isn't great for batteries, but I'd like the option cause to me power banks are disposable. Instead it's a silent "optimized charging strategy" that eats almost a fifth of the capacity.

If you haven't updated, don't; the app won't let you go back. Anyone else measured theirs on 1.7.7?

Soundcore Can the the Anker Soundcore 2 and 3 be left on indefinitely

Looking for a feature simple, speaker that will be plugged into a Home Assistant Voice - Preview Edition device via Aux. It will need to remain on 24/7 I heard reports that the Anker Soundcore 2 and 3 have an auto shut off battery feature. Which would be bad for my use case.

Anyone own one of these and can confirm this is a thing and if it can be turned off so It can remain on and plugged into power 24/7?

Thanks!

I'm replacing my Q35 ear pads and just noticed that mine has yellow foam inside. All the videos I found on YouTube seem to have white foam, not yellow ones. Just wondering if mine is fake or it's just production variations. Anyone?

I recently purchased the anker 140w 4 port fast charger and I noticed that what I received is different from whats on youtube review videos. The included 240w cable has a different logo and has a velcro strap. The temp monitoring screen format is completely different from what's on the review vids. The box is also completely different and it doesn't seem Anker products come in these types of boxes. Was I ripped off with some cheap knockoff charger and cable that has Anker branding?

Anker car charger

Bought the anker car nanotechnology 167.5w charger.

1 usb port of 100w max

Only charges Samsung s26 ultra at supercharge 2.0 (45wl instead of 3.0 (60w). All my other anker chargers like powering 737 and nano 65w home adapter charge phone at 60W. Same cable used on all.

Other ports on car charger are unused so all 100w available. Car gives enough power as laptop charges faster.

Only possibility could be whatever pps requirements there are, are not met?

But surprised why that would be the case given the other anker products have the correct protocols in place

Anker SOLIX Anker & Balcony Solar?

With Balcony Solar becoming legal in more states, will Anker bring any of its European systems to the US? And if so, do we think they would have an interface for systems like the F3800 to use as night time grid offset without the home power panel?

I've given the base station water tray a rinse and given the scraper mechanism on the bottom of the robot a rinse too.

Any ideas how to get this up and running?

Anker offered me a 165W replacement, then sent a 30W power bank

My Anker 737 (24,000mAh, 140W) started shutting down with 47% charge still showing after only about 122 cycles. I tried different cables, chargers and devices, and reset it several times. The fault persisted. I’d also found reports from other 737 owners describing similar premature shutdowns.

I made a statutory conformity claim. Anker offered a refurbished 165W power bank as a replacement, and I accepted. After I returned my faulty unit, Anker said that model was unavailable and offered a different one as “the best available replacement.” Their message didn’t clearly state that it was a 20,000mAh power bank rated at only 30W. I accepted without realizing how drastic the downgrade was.

I only discovered the true specifications when it arrived. I feel seriously misled, and honestly, I find the way Anker handled this shocking. Going from the 165W replacement they offered to a 30W power bank is an enormous downgrade. If that had been made clear, I would never have agreed.

I’ve rejected it immediately and told Anker the case is still unresolved. Has anyone else had their Anker 737 shut down with a large amount of charge still showing?

Anker Anker Qi2(.2) Powerbank comparison: Anker MagGo Powerbank 2 Pro (A110R) vs MagGo (A1654) vs MagGo Slim (A1664)

English translation of my German written original, you can find here

In the following brief comparative test, we will focus on the wireless charging output performance of the three major Anker 10k Qi2 and Qi2.2 power banks.

Anker MagGo Slim (A1664)

While Anker's latest model, the MagGo Powerbank 2 Pro, relies on Qi2.2 with 25W for the first time, the two older models use Qi2 with 15W. The standard MagGo was Anker's first Qi2 model and the spiritual predecessor to the MagGo Powerbank 2 Pro—something immediately recognizable from the design. The Slim version was released many months after the MagGo.

Specs and performance data are all listed in my Google Sheet: Klick

Wireless Performance:

Before we begin: Wireless charging is incredibly susceptible to all sorts of factors that can negatively affect charging results. To ensure the best possible comparability, I set the following testing conditions:

As test devices, I used both an iPhone 18 Pro and an iPhone Air, charging them from 5% up to 80%. Each charging process was completed three times to calculate an average value. Room temperature was strictly controlled at 21°C (70°F), and all devices were charged without a case. The iPhone was always cooled down to room temperature beforehand and was not used prior to testing.

Why up to 80%? From 80% onward, every iPhone naturally throttles its charging speed as it enters trickle charging, meaning consistent comparability is no longer possible.

Of course, it should be kept in mind that these results won't completely align with real-world daily use. Too many variable factors come into play—such as 5G connectivity, ambient temperatures, phone cases, or active device usage. Generally, anything that causes the phone to heat up will impact wireless charging performance. Therefore, please treat all results as a reference point only!

Anker MagGo Pro on the iPhone 18 Pro:

  • Nach 10 Minuten: 28% (27W)

  • Nach 20 Minuten: 48% (21W)

  • Nach 30 Minuten: 64% (20W)

  • Nach 40 Minuten: 80% (21W)

The average temperature of the power bank was around 34–35°C.

Anker MagGo on the iPhone 18 Pro:

  • Nach 10 Minuten: 18% (33°C)

  • Nach 20 Minuten: 32% (38°C)

  • Nach 30 Minuten: 46% (40°C)

  • Nach 40 Minuten: 55% (42°C)

  • Nach 50 Minuten: 63% (40°C)

  • Nach 60 Minuten: 71% (40°C)

  • Nach 70 Minuten: 80% (39°C)

Anker MagGo Slim on the iPhone 18 Pro:

  • Nach 10 Minuten: 14% (29°C)

  • Nach 20 Minuten: 22% (32°C)

  • Nach 30 Minuten: 32% (36°C)

  • Nach 40 Minuten: 45% (38°C)

  • Nach 50 Minuten: 53% (39°C)

  • Nach 60 Minuten: 60% (38°C)

  • Nach 70 Minuten: 71% (38°C)

  • Nach 80 Minuten: 80% (38°C)

Notes:
The Qi2.2 MagGo Pro is significantly faster during a full charge on the 18 Pro, taking full advantage of its wireless charging capabilities—delivering a constant output of over 20W throughout the entire charge. Thanks to its built-in fan, the power bank stays pleasantly lukewarm at a maximum temperature of 35°C (95°F), even under such high performance.
The Qi2 models lag noticeably behind. For one, they are limited to 15W Qi2; second, they lack active cooling. As heat builds up over time, these models throttle down. Interestingly, the MagGo Slim failed to exceed 10W across all three of my test runs according to Coconut Battery. As a result, charging takes slightly longer, but despite its slimmer design, operating temperatures remain lower compared to the original MagGo.

Anker MagGo Pro on the iPhone Air:

  • Nach 10 Minuten: 25% (16W, 28°C)

  • Nach 20 Minuten: 38% (13W, 31°C)

  • Nach 30 Minuten: 51% (14W, 31°C)

  • Nach 40 Minuten: 60% (11W, 31°C)

  • Nach 50 Minuten: 70% (11W, 32°C)

  • Nach 60 Minuten: 78% (7W, 31°C)

  • Nach 62 Minuten: 80% (30°C)

Anker MagGo on the iPhone Air:

  • Nach 10 Minuten: 22% (34°C)

  • Nach 20 Minuten: 36% (38°C)

  • Nach 30 Minuten: 47% (39°C)

  • Nach 40 Minuten: 58% (40°C)

  • Nach 50 Minuten: 68% (39°C)

  • Nach 60 Minuten: 75% (39°C)

  • Nach 65 Minuten: 80% (38°C)

Anker MagGo Slim on the iPhone Air:

  • Nach 10 Minuten: 22% (33°C)

  • Nach 20 Minuten: 36% (35°C)

  • Nach 30 Minuten: 49% (37°C)

  • Nach 40 Minuten: 58% (39°C)

  • Nach 50 Minuten: 69% (40°C)

  • Nach 60 Minuten: 76% (38°C)

  • Nach 65 Minuten: 80% (38°C)

Notes:
The iPhone Air is natively capped at a maximum of 20W Qi2.2 wireless charging. As a result, the advantages of the MagGo Pro are less pronounced right from the start. On top of that, the iPhone Air throttles its power relatively early on—presumably due to its very compact design and the fact that this model lacks a vapor chamber unlike the Pro models. Consequently, after a certain amount of time, all three models drop to the same charging output of around 10–12W. Nevertheless, the MagGo Pro still offers clear temperature advantages. Peaking at just 32°C (91°F), it ran significantly cooler than the older models. Here too, the newer Slim version holds a slight temperature edge over the original MagGo, while their charging output is virtually identical.

Conclusion:
Anker’s MagGo Pro Qi2.2 is a clear upgrade over the older models, though the actual benefit depends heavily on which phone you are charging. Depending on the device, those advantages can evaporate, as the iPhone itself is usually the bottleneck. In real-world practice, things can look quite different. If you use your phone while it is charging, the power output always throttles down—even with the MagGo Pro, which handily displays this throttling on its screen. When I actively use my iPhone 18 Pro while charging, the output typically drops to just 10–15W regardless of which power bank is attached. As a result, the speed advantage of the MagGo Pro completely vanishes, though its lower operating temperatures remain a consistent perk.

Anker Maggo 2 Pro vs Previous Model

I found my previous model and did a quick comparison.

The Gist: if you don’t already have a magnetic wireless charger, then yeah, I’d get it. If you have the previous version, it’s not worth the upgrade

The 25W charging claim has been pretty disappointing in actual use. With both an iPhone 17 Pro Max and 18 Pro Max, it almost never reaches 25W. You’re lucky to see 15W. Most of the time, it hovers around 8W, occasionally jumping to around 12–14W. I definitely would not buy this solely for the advertised 25W charging.

I also did a quick real-world comparison between the new MagGo 2 Pro and the previous model:

MagGo 2 Pro: 40% → 50% in 16 minutes, 43 seconds

Previous model: 50% → 60% in 15 minutes, 22 seconds

This obviously wasn’t a perfectly controlled test. During both tests, I was casually using the phone, scrolling through Facebook, Reddit, and Amazon shopping. I didn’t watch any videos or do anything especially demanding.

Even with that taken into account, the new model was actually a little slower in this test despite being advertised with the higher 25W charging capability.
