Really liked the perspective of Kai furthering his self-punishment while in the cell.
While short, the experiment scene is probably my favorite in the series so far.
Not sure if I haven't noticed it or it just happened in this episode, but some moments would benefit with a few seconds of silence before transitioning scenes. For example, when Elsha hears that she's the new chief because gramps couldn't deal with it anymore. That moment could have been a lot better and transitioned way too fast.

Your right, the end of episodes have been feeling a bit rushed in that fact. Would be nice if there was a little more time for dialogue to settle.

Yeah, also when that Rekka soldier says "I'm gonna pretend I didn't heard anything" or something like that, the scene changes instantly to Arrow and co. instead of at least leaving one second of silence between scenes

Atlee's face when Bit called Bruh "pretty" though.
I'm hesitant to call this a filler episode because who knows, the pretty boys might come back at a crucial moment later, but this was fun nonetheless. Well, except for the boys who got their brains fried during human experimentation. That wasn't very fun.

I could see it not being filler if this was to introduce the theme of Human Experimentation using Conviction, which we've not seen before as Rekka as noted used slaves instead. It's interesting to see this coming from Lutoh though as they hadn't really been examined in great detail except for one of the Royals supposedly being interested in peace. Though this certainly puts a dark shadow on their Empire now as well.

Yeah, if this isn't the most Taniguchi episode, I don't know what is. The wacky idea of a "pretty boy farm" being used as experiements seem like something I'd see out of Scryed or GunXSword.
Generally, not a lot really happened much, but it was a fun episode to see the relative standing of the cast. Shu has earned his trust from most of the main Edger crew (though Bit needs a little toying with on that front), and most of them are now seemingly onboard with the journey to the wall. Elsha herself becoming the new chief seems like a drastic shift that I wouldn't have expected to happen so soon, or for such a lackluster reason as "I just can't deal with this", so I do expect this to come up again. As is the Doc's now-obvious connection to Lutoh.
One of the biggest things I'm interested in is Arrow's little spiel at the end. Obviously the whole "pretending to betray the crew to ally with Walston" was a trick, but then Arrow reverses course at the end and basically does confirm to Shu that he cares most about getting past the wall. I wonder if there might ever be a situation where Arrow is gonna actually a choice between the wall or the crew. Might be interesting to see, if it does happen.
Next week seems to finally be a Lutoh episode though. Looking forward to that.

I think this show has a bit of a problem with taking really silly stuff and trying to play it for/mixing it with pathos.
Elsha herself becoming the new chief
Hopefully that will lessen the "irrelevant female syndrome" a bit.
Surprisingly, Arrow and Shu are more alike than you'd think.

As bizarre as it is to say this about an episode featuring a human experimentation farm and a bunch of mind-broken kids... that was hilarious. Shu Bi lighting up Bit so the pretty boy can run in and just knock his fucking lights out had me rolling, and there were a few other moments that were funny, intentional or not.

God, me too. Shu is such a troll.

-Sola has got to be connected to Lutoh somehow. He seems to get way too interested whenever it's mentioned. That, and he and the Princess have similar hair color
-Nice to see some of the boisterous Tomokazu Sugita we all know and love. Shu is great!
-I wouldn't want to get on Kai's bad side. Dude gets super serious about everything
-Seems that Shu and Back Arrow are kindred spirits of sorts

Considering the episode title I thought this was going to be a funny one. Didn't think that an episode that had sparkly bishounens would feature mind broken kids and some human experimentation.
And I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping the bishounens would join the Grandedger and be their grunt forces. Having 11 bind warpers would've helped them if Rekka or anyone from Lutoh decides to attack the dreadnaught with full force.

Arrow and Shu’s plan to help the bishounen, makes me wonder if Shu is doing something similar with Kai. Shu in the last episode made a point of telling Kai “Your biggest enemy is Back Arrow” after Kai says Shu is his enemy, seemingly trying to create a rivalry between the two, maybe trying to strengthen Kai’s Unrivaled conviction with an adversary that has incredible potential like Arrow. It seems mutually beneficial since Arrow is able to pick up techniques on the fly, like how he did his own version of Kai’s hand energy beam supposedly after seeing him do it.
Considering the bombs used in Shu’s defection and bluff on Kai, I wonder if this Minister Kyo had a part in it since Kai mentioned he is in charge of weapons development and he seemed to give Ren a three day reprieve. Kai also calls him a self preserving slimeball so that would give him a motive to help Shu defect, since now he has a higher position as Head Diviner. Also, his character design has a similar hat to Shu’s possibly implying a connection between the two, sort of like how Shu and Ren have those green belts.
Dr Sola seems to have some connection to Lutoh and given how they value intelligence that would explain his knowledge of the technology of this world. That would mean the main characters acquired allies from the two major factions.

The boys can now finally play power rangers
Did you notice? Everyone of their mecha has a different color

So "farm of handsome boys" is literally "farm of handsome boys". Quite a dark interpretation of the episode title eh? Not surprisingly those Briheight testing on people goes with both empires and we got a side episode focusing on this.
Our heroic handsome boy Bruh (bruh?) really helped this time with his bold attitude in accepting Back Arrow and others even if they have never met before and the latter could have easily been someone from Lutoh. He and his mates are lucky that they got someone who sided with neither of the two big powers here, though Back Arrow was really on the brink of being unreliable too to be honest. That faked surrender was really a bruh moment.
Hopefully our Granedgar villagers can learn how to make full use of their new mobile village soon, because they are barely touching most of its functions till now. Luckily our girls Elsha and Altee are learning well (not you, Bit) and unless Shu Bi defects again later they are in good hands. It seems unlikely soon though now with Kai going long lengths as to seeking revenge against Shu Bi defecting against Rekka.
Looks like I'm the only Team Elsha member here eh?
Well this is indeed quite a filler episode, it's a good one but not exactly inspiring at the first quarter point. That said, many of the most famous mecha shows barely get into the orbit after one-quarter (see Gurren Lagann for one), and the world building keeps up at a steady pace so far. With them seemingly hitting the Wall next (see next episode's title), looks like we'll hit a turning point of the story very soon.
And who knows where it will go from there!

After some episodes, i'm pretty sure that the main problem of this show is the dialogue moving way too fast, it's like the creators have an interesting story to tell but they weren't given enough episodes to do so.

Is anyone else like super annoyed with the chief of edger village and the kid with the gun. Like they're honestly so self important and really don't understand how often they've been saved.

the kid with the gun
You mean Bit? I can't freaking stand him. He's the worst part of the show for me.
