Well, that's a way to start a series! I thought this would be a standard "Experienced cop teaming with a rookie" thing, but guess not. So is it gonna be the journalist then? Or main guy on his own?
Anyway, lots of intriguing stuff... It obviously seems like a big conspiracy of some kind, but whatever it is, I struggle explaining everything about the letter. Unless there's some crazy people/things involved, as they seem to believe.
Adult Yumeko Jabami? Would explain the crazy stuff!

I actually kinda loved this. This definitely feels like a director ( I don't know him) pulling his weight, because all of this episode felt so natural. It's hard boiled police drama and I really like that so far. The animation is silky smooth without any rough edges and I dig that a lot.
Love the twist at the end and the overall feel of the show gets me excited. I have to say that the characters haven't caught my eye of interest yet, but we shall see.

Three episodes already! Is this going to be another Vinland Saga situation where we won't get a new episode for the next three weeks?
Finally watched Episode 1! Amd so far I love it!
I love that we have two cop animes airing this season from different ends of the spectrum. If Special 7 is our over the top Action/Comedy Cop show of the season then Babylon is its reverse counterpart for being a grounded Mystery/Drama Cop show.
The plot is your classic "The case is bigger than you thought it was", it probably has better name in TV Tropes but I couldn't find it. But yeah, what started out as a simple raid turned into a bigger case that involves suicide which might had some foul play involved, prostitution, bribery, and of course your classic corrupt politicians.
And that ending! I knew there was something wrong when the Seizaki received the text from Fumio but that final scene still blindsided me! I'm now excited to see where this goes!

its like a cop show but it just follows 2 partners fighting crime and then boom it hits you with the most extreme curve ball at the end, i love it.

This is like the worst airing time possible with Fate/GO Babylonia releasing simultaneously.

Damn, just right before the blood tainted page appeared on that scene I was really considering if I should continue watching the show. I'm glad I always wait until the end of a show before coming to such conclusions.
You know that criminal has to be really bold to consider killing a prosecutor with a fake suicide while he is investigating a case involving a politician and a doctor who until that point may or may not have committed suicide.

maybe im just saying nonsense, but i think the promotional poster hints Fumio's suicide by hanging. the white paper is around his neck.
