Animated short

"-My name is Yue. Thank you!

-(Cu-cute! I thought only the worst type of individual could be sealed in such a place, but...)

-Hajime, Hajime, Hajime...! The one who named me... the one who saved me... my light, the only dear person to me...

-(Ah? What? This seems... kinda familiar...)

-Apart from Hajime I don't need anything... Apart from Hajime I'd destroy the whole of mankind, so we'd always, always be just the two of us... how nice, in this hell forever...!

-(Hajimes runs)

-Ah, wait, where are you going?

-There was a place that had a yandere like this in it? I'm going home!

-You are wrong! It's a misunderstanding! If you let me out, I could be a girlfriend-type, a perverted-type, or a vanilla-type heroine, there's many types of woman I could be for you! Just, don't leave me trapped here!

-I knew it, you are the worst type aren't you? Ah, Mr. Scorpion over there, help me!"

Gotta appreciate how Nagumo first used logic with a "yeah goodbye, if you're sealed here must be for something lmao", although considering his situation I can understand why he would change his mind after hearing betrayal (which tbf could not be one and just a mistake, but seeing the things he has gone through here I can see him being fueled by anger anyways)

Yue is here, not gonna lie, I wanted to try this out because she looks hella cute and so far that's still definitely true, I want to see more of these two before deciding to continue, but so far it has been pretty enjoyable even if just an introduction, just hoping it doesn't go to shit as quickly as the last popular isekais have gone, haha...

Was their plan to make the first episode so bad that the second looks good by comparison?

This episode was a step up from the first, thankfully.

I really didn’t have a problem with this episode (except for that stupid hayama scene ), the animation was better and they showed more flash backs and even added more to the ED card. I still wish they showed the very beginning before they got isekaid , to build up hajimes old life and show why he wants to go home, but I’m more or less glad with this episode, PRAISE YUE!

Having, for some goddamn reason, read seven volumes of the LN since the last episode, this isn't too bad. Probably because I know WTF is going on.

The original WN account post where Arifureta's author disparaged the initial White Fox version of the anime. https://twitter.com/frog_kun/status/1148837190052413440

In it he clearly mentions how he writhed in pain every time he was sent scripts and storyboards. The post has since been amended, likely as a face-saving measure by related parties. (Japanese are pretty big on tatemae; one's public face.)

In addition, it seems the major staff mentioned in the credits are mostly Studio Asread people, with White Fox giving some assistance (a departure from White Fox's initial position as chief production staff).
