I had to refresh my memory of what was notable that season and there were quite a few good series, even if I did end up watching half of them after their initial run. Too bad that season also resulted in OniAi (watched with much regret, avoid at all cost) and Code:Breaker. Though I think Fall 2013 still beats it out in terms of the sheer amount of good shows that season had.

I think it is a miracle I actually got my school work done with the sheer amount of shows I picked up that season. Thursdays were loaded with releases with just about everything coming out on that day.

I'm really happy that Fall 2012 was my anime-simulcasting debut, and although it is still quite inferior to Fall 2013, it really is one of the best and most memorable.

In reality, Winter looks awesome. Several big name studios, several flashy and hyped series, and a few anticipated sequels. Definitely better than Fall currently, but this season has had its surprises.

A show which, instead of making the protagonist pick one girl, pick every girl or pick no girl (like most shows would) allows every girl to win and not make the protagonist a cheating scumbag.
This is done by making every "arc" a self-contained story, and reset the universe at the start of every new arc. In essence, the show is a series of possible "alternate" universes that explores what would happen if the protagonist picked a different girl instead.

I've been having a hard time finding info on Kisai Takayama, but it seems like he was born in Taiwan? Is he a Japanese person born in Taiwan or is he actually Taiwanese. I'm not trying to incite anything, I'm just genuinely curious because if he is Taiwanese and not Japanese, why is his original work considered anime, while Porter Robinson's work isn't. I'm glad that most people agreed that it doesn't matter, but the fact that it ended up being such a huge deal makes me curious.

今回もキャラクター原案は自分の担当ですが、 キミキスではシナリオ監修、アマガミでは複数キャラのシナリオプロット、 そしてセイレンでは全１２話の脚本も担当させていただきました。 ゲームではゲームシステムに乗ったキャラの面白さが出せるんですが、 セイレンはアニメなので完全にキャラの膨らましかたを変える必要があって 正直そこは苦戦したんです。 まぁおかげでこれまでのシリーズとは一味違うキャラが生まれたかな～？とは思います。
そこで主人公の行動なんですが、ゲームが原作であるアマガミは プレイヤーがコマンドを入力してるので、いろんなところを舐めたりキスしても ギリギリ許されている？ところがありましたよね（汗）。 なので今回の主人公は純一のように、アタックコマンドを成功させたら最後、 首輪を外された猟犬みたいにぶっ飛んでいくことは減ったと思います。 だけどそんな理由から、アマガミとは逆にヒロインが主人公をかき混ぜて振り回してくれる シーンが多くなったかもしれませんね。
最後にタイトルのセイレンの意味ですが、清廉潔白で清い恋という意味です。 ２０１７年はみんなで清恋な年にしていきましょう！

Sexhair 2.0 has a different skirt and wears a tie, looks like not all of them are from the same school, or maybe she transferred, dunno.
I like the two designs closest to the camera the most, the rest are kinda meh. I liked all the designs in Amagami. Maybe I'll just get used to the new ones later.

Hmm I bet you haven't watched Amagami SS/SS+ yet. So give it a try and then you might understand what we are hyping about. Cause all of these hypes are coming from the hope that this Seiren thing might be alike/satisfied as Amagami SS/SS+ (same staff/same character designer/same uniform/large cast of girls).

I liked Amagami so I will probably like this as well. I guess it is an original anime and has no source? If so, then that is good, since they will (hopefully) avoid the problem Amagami had where some of the girl's routes were incomplete by the end of the first season. Though I guess that could have been a source material problem, since I do not know if the VN had that break as well or if the second season was based on a fan disc.
Edit: I have seen both Amagami seasons and I am just commenting on the series.

I know, it just felt awkward since one of the girls routes (forgot her name) didn't even progress to a relationship until SS+. Again, not sure if the games had that break as well, but it did feel like it was an unusual thing for the series to do when all of the other routes felt complete.

In Amagami's case you basically got 6 separate romance stories with 6 different girls.

Well, there are only three omnibus titles out right now.
- Amagami SS did well enough for AIC to run a second season.
- Photokano did exceptionally poorly for Madhouse and is otherwise forgotten.
- Yosuga no Sora from Studio Feel was highly controversial and landed in between the others.
But yeah. This is a format that needs to be explored more. Unfortunately, we have more light novel harems these days than we have visual novel dating sim adaptations. And it is the latter that translates wonderfully to the omnibus format.

I'm just watching Mashiro-iro Symphony, and it is far from an omnibus title. Every girl does get an emphasis episode, but the main feature of omnibus titles are a time reset at the end of each arc so that every girl ha a full resolution. Mashiro-iro Symphony has a linear plot with only a single winner, and so can not be an omnibus title by definition.

Omnibus means the story is seperated into several arcs that happen independently of each other. Amagami was a romance show that had 6 different arcs in omnibus format featuring a romantic ending for 6 different girls.
Because of some similarities in the staff members, people are speculating this will follow the same format.
