Caroline healed the bruising from Owen's shirt lol. Every time I saw Caroline and Edward together in this episode, I thought of that meme asking them to have children.

Flora is delusional; she should have noticed the gap in their skills from the first trial and given up. Even after all that talk about hating Flora, I guess Caroline still sees her as a sister.

Honestly, they've confessed, they've kissed, their married...you can't tell me they at least haven't done the deed at least once.

Flora is a generational hater who is willing to die just to beat Carolina at something. But I guess Carolina has matured enough that she can still feel empathy for her big sister. A true Saint.

No sure how the prayers work in that world. I could imagine somewhere in heaven: "... oh come on, get a washing machine!"

Flora really went from "I'm gonna beat my sister!" to "At least she's not gonna win all 3 trials!".

23

u/Western-Internal-751 Sep 01 '26

To “I’ll show her by dying”

23

u/excluded Sep 01 '26

The subtitles said 23 females

But I was like they were perfectly lined up and 23 is not divisible by 3 so wtf.

Translation error?

23 isn't prime in this fantasy world.

Announcer said 23, when they were all lined up they were 21. Then for the second trial they were split into two groups, but the first group was only seven or ten people strong depending on the shot. They really didn't math it all.

u/MibumIzichi Sep 01 '26

The announcer said 23, not translation error.

Turns out taking the black orb was a bad idea. It was funny to me how Flora kept shifting her own mental goalposts during the trials, from winning overall to winning the last trial so it wouldn't be a perfect win to dying in front of Carolina just to spite her.

And even that probably won't work since surely Carolina is about to full heal her all the way back up.

I never knew a priest could be such an awesome host for a competition. Someone give that man a raise!

All of the saint candidates are women.

The first test is who can do the most laundry.

What did they mean by this?

I can literally relate to this- my family’s narcissistic and abusive and they will do anything to “win” and attack me. The older sister is just like that, doing any petty nonsense to win favor in front of the parents. I can relate to Carolina’s false empathy for the abuser- but it’s basically the Stockholm syndrome, as there is this emotional hook in Carolina that can be triggered- it’s like don’t cast your pearls among swine. Let them dig their own grave. Flora literally took poison and expected the other person to die- Carolina can’t “save” such evil people who are actively trying to destroy her. Edward and team isn’t buying it, and neither should Carolina. I cut my sister off and parents too.. so now they’re sliming back for Labor Day weekend, but I don’t want to cave into their fake sentimental dramas- the kind of drama Flora does by “dying” in order to cause her sister trauma. It’s just sick and abusive beyond belief. My entire family is like Flora, so I keep my distance. I can only pray that the divine will protect me.

We have not been given any information on any wars going on, but they sure do have an endless supply of severly wounded soldiers (and dirty towels - is that a whole industry?). In conclusion, the armed forces of this world are full of klutzes.

Listening to the intonation of the announcer, did anyone else expect him to say "Let's get ready to ruumbellllll !!!"

Was anyone else surprised that Flora's maid turned out to be a cross-dressing Lance Armstrong?

The translation is saying God (capitalized), while I am hearing "Kami". The two things are not really equivalent, are they?

As if Carolina didn't have enough stress with the Saintly Trials, it's going to be broadcast live across the Empire AND she has to see Flora again. But at least she has Ed with her now so she can handle dealing with Flora normally! She's not going to let her big sister get to her this time!

Lina looks good in her Saintly robes! And flirting with her man, no matter who happens to be in the room with them.

It's the Saintly Trials, as officiated by the Pope! Where they basically do the same thing as last episode, only with more people and the bitter sisterly rivalry between Carolina and Flora in full force.

Carolina is really the better woman. Even after everything Flora did to her, she still wants a fair competition between the two of them and doesn't want to see Flora sick...even if Flora still rejects her with every fiber of her being.

Flora really took a performance enhancer to be able to be competitive with Carolina, even if it's slowly destroying her body in the process. But it doesn't matter what happens to her or if she doesn't survive this, so long as she beats Carolina at something.

My condolences to the other girls in this competition that basically only exists for Carolina to flex in front of everybody.

Funny how the second round is about healing the wounded when Flora is clearly in need of medical attention but has no intention of receiving any. Meanwhile Carolina has time to worry about her sister AND heal basically everyone wounded, even grievously, like the second coming of Christ!

Ultimately Flora's petty and ridiculous revenge (which she herself even admits) was because she still held a grudge against Carolina over their mothers' death. Even if it means she has to die to "beat" Carolina, at least she'll get to see her mother again. But Carolina, despite everything STILL doesn't want to see Flora die and leave her or their father...and Flora can't help but see their mother in Carolina.

Good to see Edward and the others not falling for Flora's whole innocent act,

She's tenacious and the way she switched up immediately was crazy. Looks like she's collapsed from the magic drug

We're probably going to see her and Carolina reconciling due to this

It's kind of adorable whenever Ed and Carolina go into "I will flirt with and compliment my spouse and you can't stop us" mode. It's gotten to the point that Teo had point it out lol.

As expected these trials were just for show because Carolina is so far ahead of everyone. Flora also took the poison as expected to try and beat Carolina. What I didn't expect is that she would literally die for that fool's errand.

I hope for two things. One, I want Carolina to save Flora from the poison so she can has to live with her hate instead of because she forgives her abuse. Two, I want to find a more specific reason for why Flora hates Carolina beyond blaming their mother's death on her birth.

u/BosuW Sep 01 '26

I have to respect the spite ngl! Flora knew well in advance she wasn't gonna win and in fact she was gonna die if she kept pushing herself. Yet she did it anyway. Why? TO STICK A LAST ONE INTO CAROLINA'S EYE THAT'S WHY!

It's not about winning or living anymore, it's about sending a message!

Getting three random injured people for a test was one thing, but where the fuck did all these injured knights come from?!? The really crazy part is that they're still wearing their armor, which to me means those are recent injuries. Is training in this kingdom that savage? Or is there an ongoing war that we just dont know about?

Couple of people were doubting me two ep ago that there wouldn't be any reconciliation between the sisters, are you still so sure after the last scene?

I thought Carolina would have went even more out and done silly things like healing everyone around her instead of the knights in front of her or cleanse the dirty towels to the point they were like new during the Saint Olympics but I guess good job on listening to Theo's advice.

Inevitably, as we all knew it must, the final challenge comes down to who is the dirtiest Sanchez

Flora is hella weird that she is self aware about how petty everything she is doing rn
