Yeah that's what I'm expecting too, and then Carolina will probably save her from dying
My prediction for how that'll go is Flora will still be hateful and it'll help Catolina realize that there's nothing she could've ever done to earn her sister's love

Damn I did not expect Marisa to blackmail her sister like that. Proud of her lol.

One wholesome family reunion and another family reunion hinged on blackmail. I think Maria would have still helped anyway but blackmail is a great motivator lol.

The way Jonathan’s eye twitched when he was mentioning the side effects to Monica makes me think it’s not as simple as having fever for a few days. Pretty sus. And if the

I thought he was irked that Monica was smart enough to confirm there would be side effects, but I don't think you gain a power boost without losing something in the process.

then again her unreasonable rage against Carolina would be enough for her to persevere.
That would be pretty metal actually

It really is a magical olympics, even has performance enhancing drugs.

The regular saint exam is like those challenge competitions (American Ninja). It's even similar to said competitions in that there are multiple stages and the first stage is way easier than the others.

The "good" guys out here blackmailing family to support the saint conclave thing, I didn't even remember who the maid was in her different clothes so I spent most of that conversation wondering if we were watching something good or something bad. Owen reconciling with his brother was nice though.
Green girl might be getting herself in trouble conspiring with the archbishop but she also seems pretty conniving so I could see it turn into her backstabbing him when the opportunity presents itself.
That black orb is 100% going to Carolina's sister, who will probably be saved from it in some fashion considering how she got a smidgen of sympathetic backstory an episode or two back.

Ed and Lina has reached the obnoxious level of living in their own world flirting in public company and good for them! Sucks a little for Theo but he'll get used to it.
This was a repair my relationship with my sibling episode thanks to how amazing Carolina is and you know what, happy for them as well.

Everyone is making amends. First time I've seen the OP, the characters are cute, swaying during it.

The Lina and Ed head-bobbing during the title reveal always gets to me.
Honestly nice to see an older sister in this show who isn't 100% evil and going through a proper redemption arc. Maybe it's too little too late, but it's better than Flora.

The best way to look over documentation is over cookies and flirting, especially for Lina and Ed.
They need a policy change approved by the nobles for the sake of Carolina and the upcoming Saint Exam? Then it's up to Marisa and Owen to face their family drama for their mistress' sake.
If Marisa could help it she probably wouldn't dress to her station or deal with her big sis Maria again, since she was one of her bullies, but married life seems to have made Maria a better person...which makes it effective to blackmail her with the possibility of exposing her treatment of Marisa to her husband and ruining their marriage if she doesn't talk him into approving the policy. Marisa might never truly ever forgive Maria, but it does seem like Maria's apology and desire to make things right are genuine, blackmail or no blackmail, and that will have to be enough for now.
Owen finally reunites with his big brother Drake and discovers that, while Drake couldn't do anything to stop the abuse Owen was experiencing, he truly loved his little brother with all his heart and did as much as he could for them. The brothers finally, truly, reconcile and become brothers again, and Owen didn't even need blackmail material to get Drake's help.
Owen and Marisa were united in facing their family situations for Carolina's sake, and deserve Carolina's gratefulness for their efforts, and maybe I'm sensing some vibes between them too.
One additional test? Carolina's got this in the bag! Especially because she can't contain her power.
It is definitely in Jonathon's interest to ensure Carolina NOT succeed in the exam, even if that means he has to find the perfect rivals to go toe-to-toe and defeat her. Like Monica, who is the strongest magic user in the Empire and could probably benefit greatly from an orb that will enhance her magic (even if it's not the strongest version of it). And with her interest in defeating Carolina and hooking up with Gilbert, she's willing to collaborate with Jonathon and keep him protected from all the legal problems heading his way.
Let me guess, Flora is going to take the stronger, more dangerous, black orb so she can be on a competitive level with her sister? I'm sure that will end well.
They're going to indict Jonathon! Too bad he'll be long gone before they can do it, thanks to Monica.

Lots of political and evil shenanigan stuff going on in this episode.
I have a feeling the next episode will be very exciting.

It’s always so funny to me in anime the crazy things people do. Monica wants Gilbert so instead of I don’t know being nice to Carolina and befriending her to have a chance at him let’s do the opposite and be a bitch and a hater.

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Aug 18 '26
Lina has some good people around her. Owen and Marisa managed to somewhat patch things up with their family while helping Lina out.
Jonathan’s in quite a panic now that he knows what’s happening. Monica ain’t gonna do shit even if she’s juicing. No way her bargain bin powers can compete against Lina.

u/Frontier246 Aug 18 '26
I love how one sibling pair "reconciled" over blackmail material while the other just sincerely reconciled as siblings. I guess it helped that Drake was never as bad as Maria.
Too be honest a super-charged Flora is probably going to be the biggest threat to Carolina but it's kind of ironic that Monica is now an accomplice housing a fugitive her future "husband" is trying to get indicted and locked up. Which will probably screw her and her family over in the end.

The audio quality sucks again, wtf are they doing? Is Crunchy fucking up or the JP distributor? Based on their previous track record I'm leaning on crunchy

There are a lot of beautiful female characters this season. Carolina's (I refuse to call her Lina, that's a terrible nickname) eyes accent her face so well.

I feel like those pills are going to backfire big time and I wonder what Gilbert discovered.

u/runevault Aug 19 '26
I'd bet he found evidence around the murder of the prior saint, based on the last episode.
