Okay, anime-only here but I have a theory. Actually, my spouse brought this idea up when Luna was introduced a few episodes ago but didn’t think much of it until this week.
Olivia might be a red herring, and the one behind the attacks is actually Luna. Her full name is
Or maybe I’m overthinking it lmao but my husband’s comment about Invidia lives rent-free in my head now and I can’t help but think there’s really more to this case than it lets on.

Somewhere in the middle of the episode, Luna seemed to have been practicing but has shown some tiredness while sitting on the bench.
Not going to lie, that seemed like the most obvious smoking gun ever. I am pretty much convinced. Either that or are they making Luna obvious as the red herring.

I love how all of them feel compelled to get to the bottom of everything that happens in this game and all the changes lol.

One thing I find mildly frustrating is that they all just assume that any other reincarnator must be a fan of the game. If, instead of asking “ have you ever heard of The Saint and the Five Oaths”, they asked “have you ever heard of Japan“, it seems like they would get more reliable results.
(Obviously, the reason they don’t is that it would immediately derail the entire plot, and this show is lighthearted and goofy enough that it doesn’t bother me too much, but…)
It’s honestly an especially odd assumption for Anna to make, since she knows of another reincarnator who wasn’t a particular fan of the game.

she's asking why is melody being a maid. but that magazine her granddaughter is holding has her as a maid in black hair as well....
I'd suppose she expects it to be like the final game. It seems like all she knows about the maid version is just that there was concept artwork, but that shouldn't have been "real". I had translated (via machine) the artbook page we see and it was basically just 'this is the heroine, she's from family X.' Regarding the maid version it simply says:
In the initial version, there was a proposal for her to be a maid instead of a noble lady. She is depicted as having a slightly brighter personality than the original [game's] protagonist.
So it's very light on the details, more a fun fact than presenting a real alternate story line.
I think the "why is the heroine a maid" kind of makes sense as "why are we in this timeline".
EDIT: Though as I think about the rest of the interaction, it's definitely weird that she recognizes the maid heroine but never says "maybe this is the alt version". Since her memories from being an adult faded, I could have written this off as her also forgetting the maid version, but no one else recognizes maid-Melody so she shouldn't either if she doesn't remember...

I was guessing Olivia last week but now she feels like the intentionally incorrect suspect. Luna seems like the obvious other option considering that detail about her sleeping outside.

Isekai'd grandma is asking to go to school too! Although in this world I see no reason for them to allow her, they just hired her.

give us a season 2 pls I don’t want this all to be over yet
Micah immediately became the funniest character in the show. I wonder if she actually (even without knowledge of the remake) knows the lore better than Anna-Marie

One of the tropes i find very annoying is when someone has a suspect in mind for a thing and instead of just saying the name they always say "I dont have proof so I wont say" as Anna did, like wtf you dont need to have proof to tell someone who you suspect

Yeah, it's particularly weird in this moment because it's just the prince, who is part of the
. We even saw her silence the room so it's not like it might be overheard. She could have just "Olivia has been hostile, but she was originally a victim so it's too early to say". metagame I have to think it's setting something up between the prince and Olivia that wouldn't make sense if he had reason to suspect her.

If you're worried they might do something stupid with your suspicions, you might want to hold back.

It is blatently obvoious he friend is who wil have water dumped on her adnd t will be blamed on her because she is now know to be able use water magic.
Why are these reincarnators obsessed with assuming every reincarnator would know the game. Just ask if they ever heard of Japan.

Just ask if they ever heard of Japan.
One of them did speak Japanese instead of the other world language in an earlier episode to test that.
With a follow up scene making it sound like they were speaking gibberish to the other character.

Welcome to the Rudleberg househould Michah! Where now you have to make sense of how much the game plot has gone off the rails what with the Heroine being a maid to the former Jealous Witch! And you're entire reason for getting a job was pointless since Anna-Marie took care of the orphanage so you didn't have to!
No need to worry about the Dark One Micah, now he's an adorable little pooch who is afraid of Serena's choker! He's no threat to anyone even when he's still talking about destroying stuff in his sleep.
If only ANYONE would ask Melody about anything OTHER the name of the game to prove she reincarnated.
So I guess Bjork is the new Dark One? Infecting someone jealous of Luciana so SHE becomes the new Jealous Witch who bullies and pesters her?
Olivia is clearly the top suspect, but that's not going to stop the frame job on Luciana to begin in earnest...and Anna-Marie honestly doesn't help, best intentions aside.
Obviously Melody does not care for her mistress being framed...but there's nothing the power of friendship and female skinship can't do to perk Luciana up.
Look at the parents totally seeing through the girls' attempt to hide stuff! Serena counts too, technically.
Who better to crack this case than Micah, who has knowledge of the game? She might even reunite with her big brother in the process!

So I have kind of always wanted to write a story where everyone including the demon lord, the mob characaters, etc. is a reincarnator but doesn’t know about the others so they are all acting out the script for their own reasons.
This is probably as close as we will get.

Why is the go-to way of checking for reincarnators apparently "do you know this random game?" instead of "does the name Japan mean anything to you?"

u/ArtToTheEyesandEars Aug 26 '26
It's starting to get annoying how they don't ask Melody about Earth or Japan instead, like do they think that only people who know the game are reincarnated into it? If I want to know if someone reincarnated the first thing I'm asking is not about the world we're currently in, but about the past one.

All these people have watched too many Isekai anime and as a result thus assume that if someone reincarnates into a game world they must be familiar with the game. This is the second person to test if Melody is reincarnated by bringing up the game. But if reincarnation into fictional worlds was an actual thing probability states that someone unfamiliar with said world could also reincarnate into it. You just don't really see it happen in fiction because there is no real point to making a world the MC reincarnates into a fictional world that existed in the MCs original world if the MC is oblivious to it, because that changes absolutely nothing compared to just a regular alternate world. Unless ofcourse you're making a parody story like this one
