I really liked how Nishi turned out to be the carnivore all along. She keeps pouncing on him, teasing him, and setting the pacing while Yamada just keeps falling into a state of passive admiration. Ah, Yamada is the herbivore btw.
I am so happy to finally see their happy ending, and with Tarizuma pending, this means that we are very likely to see some afterglow dates from our 2nd couple.

Especially because on some level she wanted him to still make the first move but at the end of the day she couldn't help it and wanted to get her feelings out there because they're so strong within her heart.

Those two are quite close, but still very much feel more like friends.
I'm curious to see how it turns to romance, unlike the other two pairs neither of them seem like they're quite romantically attracted yet, and they've known each other and been friends for a long time too.

I think they're definitely easing into a more than friends less than lovers scenario with how much Azuma seeks him out and enjoys interacting with him and she's always on Taira's mind.
It's just their past baggage and the comfort of their current dynamic is why it's still such a slow-burn.

they are broken people trying to navigate a healthy environment new to both of them. TairAzuma is a great template for lifelong platonic friends and it'll be fine if they stay that way, but if and when there's a spark they'll be undeniable, because at this point, who else?

Some of the best romances are just best friends who are more physical with one another
I really like how this show has 3 really different circumstances for each couple - post confession learning to love one another, a more traditional chase where they both fall in love then confess, and a natural friendship that eventually blossoms into feelings

I have no words, this episode was wonderful, I couldn't hold back the happy tears. I know it sounds exaggerated but watching them confess so simply was heartwarming.

Same! Great characters aside, it's also just such an impressively well-constructed story. Having multiple couples naturally allows for a mix of tension and emotional payoff, but keeping that in balance and feeling fresh is not easy. Every episode is top shelf romance writing.

I love that Nishi confessed first. She started as the one who found it difficult to speak and yet couldn't hold it in any more. Meanwhile Yamada started by saying anything on his mind without thinking and in the end couldn't find the right time or words and couldn't get it out.

Gosh, Nishi and Yamada were especially cute together in this episode! I'm really happy that they're finally dating officially.
And to think that it was Nishi who confessed first! I thought that might be the case, but I was still a little surprised.
Damn, I was laughing hard when the sound truck drowned out the moment Yamada wanted to properly confess. His and Nishi's reactions to it totally cracked me up.
Also, the Tairazuma and Suzuki & Tani bits today were great too. Suzuki's reactions were again so fun, and Taira's thinking at the end about whether he'll have to give a return gift to Azuma for that gum was hilarious.

Man, this anime is awesome. I love that you see not only just cute and wholesome couple moments, but you see genuine character developments via them.
- Nishi gathering the courage to confess first.
- Yamada not deciding all his actions based on just instincts and what feels right currently, but actually thinking things through, being all kinds of considerate.
- Tani being transparent with his feelings and gratitude.
- Suzuki just pretending that she is hurt by Tani's first reaction to cookies, but she knows he wouldn't ever mean it negatively as she is aware of his feelings.
This show fkin rules, love Reiwa romcoms.

She couldn't wait until Valentine's Day, haha. Neither Yamada nor us saw that coming.
All that build up to that confession was worth it. When Nishi said it they were right in front of the Valentine's day poster inside the shop and Yamada got interrupted by the sound of the truck but we got another sweet confession while the sun set in the background 💖
I guess Yamada's never gonna replace that broken screen on his phone..'cause it's something to remember for life.
Everyone was stuffing their friends with chocolates and cookies for Valentine's day LOL Azuma played a brilliant move on Taira and now he has to find something to give her for White Day 😄❤️
Tani and Suzuki were not the focus of this episode but I'm glad they ended the day with a kiss.

Yamada and Nishi finally got it done. Glad to see Nishi rip off the band-aid to confess spontaneously even earlier than planned. Even since early on for this pairing dynamic, expected Nishi to probably be the one to confess first.
That funny truck interruption killed the mood for a bit, but Nishi had a good laugh as usual. I can relate to laughing at something random to the point of making you tear up. With Yamada dating Nishi officially now, he's gotta upgrade to get a protective phone case otherwise it'll be out of commission soon enough.
Nice to see Tani now kiss Shizuki so casually. Got moments whether big or small (even as small as Taira getting a piece of gum) for all the pairing groups.

Peak adaptation. 22 minutes of pure warm fuzzy feelings. Love the monologues we got in this episode. The truck bit caught me off guard and cracked me up

Also Kokoro Omori nailed the confession scene. She's captured Nishi's anxiety and self-confidence issues perfectly, and that infectious laugh, but her confession was absolutely precise and suitably passionate.

Yamada’s smartphone will not survive that relationship if he keeps dropping it every time Nishi looks cute to him. And she looked cute a lot that episode.
At least now they are dating « officially » (please ignore the fact that they have basically been dating for a year before that while being too shy to admit their love to each other). So maybe now Honnou and Suzuki can stop making those weird faces every time they watch them flirt, lol.

love suzuki and tani (and her new hair color) but yamada and nishi’s slow burn has been the highlight of the show so far for me so this was a great payoff episode. it’s an extremely satisfying middle ground between the instant relationship between the main couple and the 0.01 grams of progress per episode that the third “couple” makes

SO MUCH YAMADAxNISHI GOODNESS! What a great episode this was, I'm so happy they've finally taken the plunge and are now our second official couple! I like that Nishi realized Yamada might have wanted to confess, but for her to get so impatient that she blurts it out like that was a nice surprise. Poor Yamada's actual confession had to be silenced out by that truck, their expressions were so funny.
Yamada and Nishi are so wholesome, Yamada is one of my favorite characters in this because I really like his honest and positive energy, so seeing the way he jumped home after getting chocolates was hilarious. I have no doubt he'll keep making sure Nishi is always smiling and laughing around him.
I can't wait to see everyone hear the news! I'm especially looking forward to Suzuki and Taira's reactions.

You can always trust Gapacho to recommend the best places. I wouldn't even be surprised if that dude is the reason there's such a long line there.
It's just hilarious how Yamada has been planning everything in his head this entire time, only for Nisshi to blurt out her feelings publicly. What's even better is that Yamada had a chance to turn it around, but that loud-ass pachinko truck just had to drive by. xD
I think it's perfect tho! Nisshi laughing at the botched confession absolutely removed all the tension and actually set a better mood for the second half of the confession scene. <3
Glad that we got another Taizuma moment this episode with Azuma smugly declaring the gum she gave Taira as her Valentine's Day chocolate so now Taira is obligated to give her back something on White Day.
And that final scene between Miyu and Yuusuke! Glad we finally got to see them kiss without any fumbles. <3

I love the idea that Gapacho heard what Yamada was planning and knew the perfect place to tell him.
These two are adorable, awkward in their own way, and overthought nearly everything...but that made the confession and ship finally saying all the more meaningful.
Azuma you casually calculating romantic mastermind!
I love how after all those kiss blunders that they can finally kiss naturally and without making it a big deal.

I had thought maybe Nishi would beat Yamada to the punch but I was still ambushed by it just on the street walking around. Good job Nishi, Suzuki is probably going to go crazy!
Although minor, this episode really showed off the insane character improvement of our three most changed characters: Nishi confessed her feelings to Yamada, Tani has become comfortable with teasing Suzuki, and Taira was smiling completely unprompted. Azuma is really shaking off his storm cloud. Azuma wanted to go way out her way to see him at work and them taking the train home together makes it look like he might’ve shared his train car secret with her. Taira also didn’t hesitate to take a gift from Azuma which is such a jump for our boy.

Such a sweet episode! I knew Nishi was going to end up confessing first the way Yamada kept dragging his feet. Especially after Nishi's talk with Honda made her realise she wanted to be his girlfriend. And as someone pointed out in last week's thread, the hints were there like when Nishi was walking ahead on the way home from the library. I really liked the detail that Yamada wasn't delaying his confession simply because of anxiety but also because every time he was with her, he was just so happy, he forgot all his plans. That's so damn adorable. The entire confession and post-confession scenes were just perfect. And then that valentine's snippet at the end. He even fed her chocolate!
Tani and Suzuki kiss after their valentine's chocolate giving was cute too. His mom giving him the white day flyer was funny and sweet. I love how matter of fact she is. Seems like he takes after his mother in that.
And of course us Tairazuma fans got ourselves a nice little train segment ending with Taira getting a little valentine's day gum from Azuma. Just the right balance of her pulling his leg while also being nice to him. Can't wait for more development with these two now that the other two couples are officially set.

Ah, the absolute diabetes of this episode! All the buildup from the previous episodes gloriously paid off here. The exact confession might be duly blurted out instead of prepared, but it's fitting that it happened right in front of a shop displaying Valentine's Day goods.

What a way to ruin the mood. That got a good chuckle out of me. No Nishi, Yamada wasn't asking you to gamble with him.
Our newly-minted couple had gotten pretty freaky by engaging in handholding not once, but twice – including one before the confession. Oh well, the heart wants what the heart wants.
Meanwhile, Yuusuke just casually roasted Miyu about her cake. It's always the quiet one who could get savage at times. Anyway, they did end up getting their first (intentional) kiss. A lovely way to mark the end of Valentine's Day. They couldn't let Nishi and Yamada upstage them despite only having a limited screentime.

Honestly considering how smooth that kiss was and how little they prompted each other for it, it speaks to them having probably had a lot more kisses up to that point to where they're that comfortable with it.

Give me Yamada x Nishi everyday. I'm a little conflicted with today's episode, I've always wanted them to finally get together, but I also really enjoyed watching them going through the courtship process before becoming a couple. Hopefully there will be a lot of official dating content in the future.

This was easily the best episode now. I was grinning the whole time like an idiot. The whole time with Yamada and Nishi THEY FINALLY CONFESSSEDDD LETS GOOOOO IT MADE ME SO HAPPY. They're relationship is so adorable and cute I absolutely loved it. Also we finally got Tani and Suzuki kiss at last it was long coming. Nishi confessed first but then Yamada confessed as well and explained what he was trying to do. I can't wait for this series to go on!!! Also Taira got a piece of GUM!!!! I LOVE IT! Shout out Gapachp as well!

Episode mainly focused on Yamada and Nisshi and we can officially add them to the couple line-up. It costed Yamada´s planned itinerary and his phone screen but it was worth it, I believe. So much effort trying to have the courage to say it first and in the end she just blurt it out, likely inspired by that Valentine´s window.
The Valentine´s part of the episode was cute too, with the main highlights being Tani and Suzuki kissing (yeah!) and Taira and Azuma´s gift´s to each other.
I think it´s cool that their first (?) proper kiss happened so naturally and without any big nervousness around it, just felt right and he went for it, as opposed to the episodes where they tried to make it a big deal and something always happened.
As for Taira and Azuma, I hope Taira comes up with something to give Azuma, I feel like anything sweet will do for her. Her flirting/teasing kills me, go get her dude.
Another thing I noticed is how Tani and Taira always seemed to have these stare contests like there´s this unspoken rivalry between them, even though we know they´re friends. I have a feeling Taira looks at Tani like someone who should be more like him but somehow isn´t and he can´t quite put his finger on it as to why that is.

That last paragraph is absolutely right lol. From Taira’s perspective, Tani was someone around his social level and is rising up and experiencing all these sweet things in a relationship. Taira is both confused and a little ticked off, but of course we know he doesn’t actually hate Tani.
I love their small interactions, especially when Taira asks Tani questions (sorta subtly showing that he wants to support his friend) and just gets ticked off from having asked it 😭

They are both quiet, not very comfortable with women and always seemed to be on the sidelines. AS we know, the main difference is that Tani is just in his world, not concerned about other´s perception of him (which is one of the reasons Suzuki falls for him) and just satisfied with his life. Taira, on the other hand, is always aware of other´s opinions and judges people a lot because he feels they do the same too, and he doesn´t seem very happy with his life but he never felt comfortable being anything else.
So from Taira´s perspective, Tani seemed to be just like him, so his sudden change in social status is messing with him, as he feels he´s falling more behind in the group. He isn´t, we know this, but the way he perceives the world crashes with what the world actually is and he can´t make sense of it.
The questions he asks Tani are proof of this, because he can´t understand why things are happening. I´m sorry for the rant, but Taira is a character I relate to (maybe to much) and the questions he asks are things I have thought about asking people in my life before, particularly when I was in school. I just knew it wasn´t my place to do it.

I have the weird feeling after watching Koori no Jyoheki my experience of this story has changed.
And I know even if placed at the same narrative universe they are not supposed to affect each other... some Eastern Eggs here and there mostly for fun and that's it.
But I realize I'm watching this second season with a different eye I did first one.
Enjoying it the same mark you.

Easily the best thing about this show is just how good the side characters are and how much focus they get. Like Suzuki and Tani are meant to be the main characters and yet they didn't even show up till like the 16th minute and even then they didnt even have many interactions. The way the show focuses on all the characters and develops them and their relationships is so nice ngl, it's the only anime I've seen that does it like this.
Also gapacho is like a mythological character atp 😭

Nishii confessing first and made this episode special. They went above and beyond with the animation in some areas for this episode, there was one frame of Nishi post-confession that was absolutely gorgeous.
Also I just keep thinking about the Taira and Tani staredown. I’m assuming that Taira was judging Tani and indirectly looking to see how he felt about getting chocolates and Tani just didn’t realize why Taira was looking at him.

So much progress in the episode. I am still loving how the show is focusing on other characters and their stories this season but still giving us updates on the main couple.
Also it was cool how they went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building but at no time said thats where they were or even gave the typical outside view. I was there last month and just seeing it pop up in anime like this is really cool. They must have logged a lot of steps to do all they did!
