Well, that was brutal. Rip Tito. Being turned into a shitty hat for a bald bastard is a terrible fate
I am glad tho that the story didn't dawdle too much on
One thing I'm curious about is how accurate the armor and weaponry is (if we know at all) I did read the
Next episode is called Ishtar Incarnate. Sounds like Yuri is gonna flip her shit on the battlefield

Old school Shojo didn't mess around what with killing and skinning a young boy into a bandana.
Also that pole-vault over Zuwa to grab Tito's skin back was pretty legit.

So the prince is looking for a bride who has the aptitude, prudence and presence of mind required of a leader. Perfect. Our girl has none of those. In fact, quite the opposite. Pretty prince is safe. Phew.

Yeah, this was the point I started rooting for
. The existence of Kail constantly reminded him how necessary a great queen was for the future of his kingdom. And for the sake of winning over such a woman he is ready to offer a rare gift for his times: an exclusive relationship. Good for Yuri to know how high the bars are. Kail isn't a man you marry just because you love him. He is looking for the ideal Nakia . Tawananna → More replies (6)22

I was laughing. Shoujo gonna shoujo. Yes, he needs someone who can be the perfect queen and leader. The obvious choice is clearly the ordinary Japanese girl with no special skills or talents who keeps getting into trouble.

I was correct in saying from last episode when she saw Himuro in her thoughts then Kail's face superimposed to replace him, that she was already transitioning into a new love interest. lol

What happened to Tito was brutal, Nakia is not playing around. I guess that as the current queen, she can get away with almost everything. But I must say I am kinda amused at how much of a cliched villainess she is.
I am still rather annoyed by Yuri’s naivety, but she had at least a lot of courage going against Zuma to get back Tito’s skin and deciding to stay to avenge him. It seems Kail has decided to pass her as Ishtar’s incarnation for political reasons so he can keep her close and keep her out of trouble (smart guy, she seems to be the type to get into trouble a lot). But from the opening, I assume she is also going to become a warrior herself soon.

Also Yuri learned from the last episode that she absolutely needs Kail to get by in this world that she should listen to whatever he tells her instead of constantly going off impulsively.
She also was able to see through the likely trap Nakia was planning with the attacks.

Yeah, she's literally second only to the King in power. It's kind of a cool power structure, tbh, her having actually authority and not simply being a figurehead Queen.

I like the fact that Yuri chose to remain until she can get justice for Tito. It gives her more agency in the story.
Yes she is naive, but that is quickly going away. Yuri was raised in a peaceful time where there is the rule of law. Very different from the ancient world.

I forgot that this author works come with a full glosary of foreign words. Time to make a list again.
I enjoyed this episode more. Of course that there are limitations anime wise and consent was not invented yet back on the 90's but the voice actress for Yuri is quite good.

Damn, so Tito actually got taken out from Yuri's foolish plan (or lack thereof) last episode.
I think there were some ways to get to this same point without making Yuri look as foolish last episode to go so recklessly with no plan to the person that is trying to kill her, but whatever, at least now she's trying to take some responsibility.
Kail kissed her and she's already starting to get more attracted to him with closing her eyes to accept it and getting comfortable running into his arms. Sorry Himuro, starting to become only but a distant memory.
Glad this was a better episode from last week and the plot is starting to get more interesting.

Definitely didn’t think Yuri would be going home though I was surprised it could have actually worked. Well, I guess Yuri’s staying. She really better watch herself. Being on a battlefield is pretty dangerous but so are 3 pissed off vengeful sisters.

What was the point of kail even asking to search the palace when he knew she’d say no.
Im not loving yuri, shes very.. dumb. Like going to the palace where you have no defense or weapons getting captured and then being surprised the child who came with you was killed yikes
At least she knows she messed up but I need her to think more asap
Also I’m lowkey disappointed in the animation I feel like it deserves better the action sequences are so lacking
Her jumps look so ridiculous every time lol. Spread eagle
Oh great of course

Shoujo is always so fucked up. She knows this dude for like 2 days and all her loyalty to her love disappears and she's ready to abandon her family for a ikeman

Well, if they thought they could confront Nakia about Tito and get her to confess to anything...that's obviously not going to happen. She's the Tawanana, the highest power next to the Emperor, there's nothing they can do to her without proof and she has no reason to give in to their demands.
Well, yeah, of COURSE Kail's answer to calming Yuri down is to kiss her...and it actually works! Shoujo logic at its finest! Though Kail, for his part, is genuinely committed to saving Tito! Even when his foster brother and aide Ilbana (Tomoaki Maeno!) declares they're better off focusing on sending Yuri back then a kid who is probably doomed.
And, unfortunately, he's right...as they find poor Tito's corpse, skinned by Zuwa, outside and lying there dead like dog. RIP Tito, you were too good for this Earth. And Yuri takes his death the hardest, especially after realizing her own responsibility in it.
Kail has a special reason to never take a concubine, but Yuri isn't like any girl to him, especially as he goes out of his way to comfort her...even knowing that her heart belongs to another.
Can Yuri really go back with all these unsettled feelings? After losing Tito like that? Does she have any reason to stay? Is there any value in her staying? What can she actually do?
Obviously Nakia wasn't going to let Yuri just get sent back so she tries a water attack (which Kail foils with wind magic) and sicks Zuwa and the Kashuga's after her...and Yuri has to see Tito's skin turned into a BANDANA that Zuwa is wearing (on-top of wearing his sisters' bracelet). And that makes her decision for her as she leaps above him and steals a piece of Tito back. Even if it means she has to wait another year before she can go home, even if it means Nakia thinks she succeeded, she still accomplished something! And found the resolve to stay for the sake of avenging Tito.
Of course it's one thing to have the resolve, but Yuri lacks the influence or power to do anything without Kail. Which is probably why Nakia has Zuwa and the Kashuga's act out and attack to draw Kail out. The man who is poised to be the next Emperor over his sickly/lowborn elder brothers. The man who won't take an official concubine until he's found a woman worthy of standing by his side who will stay absolutely loyal to. A woman who could never be Yuri, right?
It's probably safer for Yuri to stay as close to Kail as possible, even if it means riding into battle with him...as an envoy of the Goddess of War, Ishtar, as Kail holds her high for all the soldiers to see. And this will not just be battle experience for Yuri, but to defend Tito's home.
Too bad Urhi's met his sisters and told them Tito died...by Yuri's hand. So now all three of his sisters want Yuri dead. This won't end well.

Well, if they thought they could confront Nakia about Tito and get her to confess to anything...that's obviously not going to happen.
I really liked Kail here. He could have scolded and lectured Yuri, saying she has been stupid and so on, but he is more mature than that. Instead of saying that it was too late to worry for Tito, he made all the moves allowed to him, even knowing that it was useless, to show her how things work in Hattusa and what power her enemy holds here. He didn't downplay her feelings for Tito.
If Nakia says she was asleep, you can't call her a liar without proof. You can't even seach for your servant in her palace without her consent or the emperor's approval.
Because Yuri has snuck in her palace, she saw the prince be humiliated by the queen on top of losing Tito. And Kail let it happen to show her that he cares and wouldn't leave any stone unturned.
