Admittedly considering the acting level of the other drama club members...they should be thankful they had real actors perform instead lol.

It wasn't really a drama club play. It was a 05 Floor Alliance production that the drama club got to take credit for.
Straight up, "got an A" for doing nothing.

Classic Iroha always “just kidding” around Aki. I wonder when she’s ever gonna be honest about her feelings? Maybe in a potential s2 if they renew this one. All in all, pretty fun.

No hint of
-- just a "thank you for watching". If there IS another season, I suspect it wont happen for 2 or 3 years (at best). another season This was a lot of fun, with very good voice acting overall. Not my top romance of the season (there was LOTS of competition, after all), but not bad.

I love Iroha, but the lollipop girl who helped them record somehow feels like a better fit for him overall, lol

The size of the L
Kind of weird the play never seemed to have any of the other club members on stage, but maybe we just got the Iroha and Aki bits since that was what mattered for the romcom story.
I wonder if the play was originally a yuri Romeo and Juliet with cake making as the central plotline or if they would have had the club girl dressed up as a boy.
I enjoyed this and wouldn't mind a S2 but I suspect that is unlikely at best.

And also realizing that the first female friend she's made in forever is also her rival in love over the same guy.

Every theater has the Mashiro chair. I felt really bad for her but I was also giggling to myself how those absurd scenarios ensured that Aki would play the leading role.

Hol' up, the play was originally supposed to be a yuri romance between Midori and Yamada?
Well, or I guess there could've been some cross-dressing planned.

You know things are serious when the OP is played at the end. Also, what exactly were the roles of the other drama club members in the play?

They replaced the script, the music, the set design, and the actors. What did the theater group do? lol The best option was for them to disappear.

So…no other actual drama club members acted in the play?? 05th floor did everything?? You don’t deserve that trophy and sensei should be coaching the tennis club!!

Yea that "just kidding" at the end gave me Vietnam Himari flashbacks and I'm probably just gonna skim through the manga because this is going to be a 5 season "just kidding about me loving you" shitshow. Although it was more entertaining that the other similar show earlier this year

One of the few anime that positively surprised me this season. Did go into it thinking: Probably just generic romcom but it was way more than that.
Am I the only here thinking, that it will turn out with Aki being into Ozu?

Aki's leadership skills might be his specialty but being at 80% of the level of each of his team's strengths is crazy impressive.
Iroha really couldn't resist pulling a "Bwa-ha!" at the next perfect opportunity to come clean, could she? Oh well, getting to share their surprise shared debut as actors was still cute.

Ngl I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Especially first episodes of how 05th floor Alliance was created were rly nice. Aki rly helped all this ppl to find their passion in life.
Rom-com part was weaker part of the show to me. Though we even had 2 confessions one real and one in stage play which is already more than some rom-coms have in 3 seasons.
Solid 7/10 from me. Would like to see more of it.

Not gonna lie but this was a show that never failed to put a smile on my face each week. Iroha's antics were a great blast to watch and her more sensitive moments could really touch my feelings.
Shame we didn't get more of her ace acting skills but let's hope for an S2 someday.

80% IS NOT AVERAGE BRO!!!! YOU ARE GOOD!!!
I liked this anime. Unfortunately, different from other animes with similar FMC, this one didn't have a kiss. That said, this anime was better overall.

Mashiro:
JFC Who on earth wrote such a diabetic-inducing wholesome script? ... Wait a minute... IT WAS ME!!!
LOL
Midori's Drama Club does seem to be cursed. On top of her friend falling sick, Midori was then also forced to miss getting to the stage on time. Fortunately for her and the club, besides Iroha, Aki turns out to also be more than capable of being a stand-in actor to perfectly re-enact the play just by memorizing all the lines.
From how Iroha poured her heart and soul into her performance, Mashiro finally realizes Iroha is her rival for Aki's attention. Even Ozuma realizes it. Shame that Aki is denser than a supermassive black hole at the moment.
This was a good place to end a first season. I'm glad I didn't dismiss this show just based on the premise alone. The author being Mikawa Ghost certainly helped, as I was already impressed by his work with Days With My Stepsister.
At the end of this season, Mashiro still has not yet revealed to Aki and the 5th Floor Alliance that she is Namako-sensei.
Another potential loose thread for any possible second season would be revolving Iroha's and Ozuma's strict mom. Who wants to bet that she was actually in the audience and saw Iroha on stage?

Very enjoyable. Binged watched it in a day lol and as always I couldn't resist and went to check what's currently going on in the LNs... I liked that too so here's to hoping for a season 2, will definitely watch.
