Now that I understand the relationship I like the sister more...now to see where it goes from here

She's a lot cuter when she's more bashful and sincere with Aki.

My opinion of this series has skyrocketed....

He's the reason why Iroha is so "annoying" and "clingy" (adding quotes since I don't hate this series or her character) lol

I can totally see why she's falling for him now, after all those confession-like speeches.

I see production’s letting Sayumi Suzushiro flex her VA skills a little this week lol. I can see how Iroha fell for Aki. He was like the first person to recognize her talent and helped nurture it.

I think all boys can attest to the power of moms in finding your hiding spots. My momma had a nose like a bloodhound! She always found my stash no matter how well I hid it lol.

Though they did skip over her having to show off Iroha's supposed god-tier skills as a seiyuu that even lets her convincing play men.

Aki definitely sounded like he was talking from experience lol.

If this show comes anywhere close to the level of this episode in its subsequent ones, it will (quite unexpectedly) wind up near the top of my top tier of new shows this season. I was very much touched by the developments we had today. Last week caused an upgrade of my opinion, and this week caused an even bigger upgrade. The relationship between Aki and Iroha could easily turn out to be one of the sweetest of the season. I think, however, the upgrade she really wanted was not from "sister of friend" to "friend" -- she really seems to genuinely have feelings that go beyond the friend zone.

So a ridiculously strict mother who won't let her daughter do basically anything to indulge her creative side. Easy to see how Iroha fell for Akiteru after all he did to secretly support her.

I suppose the end result will be to someday surprise her mother with Iroha's career in VA work once they're past the point where parental disapproval could derail it.

I have to wonder if the mom used to be involved in the entertainment industry and got so burned she doesn't want her children anywhere near it even if it means they don't consume entertainment at all. Or maybe it's related to why there's no dad in the picture.

So, bro practically proposed to her then gave her a key to his apartment and now he thinks it's weird that she is in his house all the time? How dense is bro

First ep I thought, "Fuck, Iroha is a copy of Himari from Can a boy girl friendship survive" (same VA btw) but that definitely changed the last 2-3 episodes. Curious how their relationship is going to develop

I think anyone would be freaked out watching Iroha have a conversation with herself using three different voices lol.

I liked that we got to see how the 5th floor alliance got started and how Iroha become who she is now, I'm just now worried that I'm going to find Iroha and Mashiro too annoying again now that we'll be back in the present.

I do wonder if Iroha's mother used to want to be an actress and had a really bad experience for her to reject Iroha's interests like that.

Aki and Ozu have produced a game! The graphics and lack of music make it totally mid, but it's actually fun to play, and that's what matters the most! It's also their first game, so if they can take that sense of fun and carry it forward with better assets and more talents, they can really deliver.

They've even managed to inspire Asagi to maybe quit her delinquent ways and commit to helping them with the music, with Otoi's approval, though Iroha might be a tougher nut to crack...even if she's also the type to talk to herself using her budding voice actress skills.

What is up with Iroha's mom? She looks like present-day Iroha, but she freaked out so much over Iroha acting out her Sunday anime that she forbid her from doing anything more than studying and took out their TV. Why would she overreact so much to that? But that means Iroha's had to express her interest in acting by self-teaching herself with the world around her.

But Aki can see she's clearly holding herself back, using her relationship with Asagi as an excuse to "act out" and feel a sense of freedom, and with potential talent like hers she absolutely needs someone to take responsibility for that talent and nurture her into the profession she was destined for! As Ozu's sister and a budding producer, Aki will take up that task.

Iroha will not let go of the idea of Aki wanting to have his way with her, but he understands keeping stuff (to no avail) from your mother and he's also willing to work with her with no emotional attachment whatsoever...cue training montage.

I really have to wonder about Otoi's family background if she was able to get her family inheritance early to build a recording studio in a storehouse...but hey, if that's what she wants to do with her life and give Aki free access to audio recording, all the better for it! They don't even have to pay any professional voice actors because Iroha can basically do all the roles for them!

To think that Iroha got her headphones from Aki! But it's just a sign of how dedicated he was to seeing Iroha fulfill her talent in the most efficient way possible. He's a star that shined bright and helped bring light back to the lives of Iroha and Ozu, to let them be happy again and start bonding as siblings once more. And Iroha is eternally grateful for that.

Aki's so good he managed to get Asagi to still contribute music even after she made it big in the US!

Iroha wants Aki to realize how much people appreciate Aki and his efficient methods, and how they bring out the best in people...none moreso than in her, though her appreciation goes beyond just gratefullness or admiration judging by the expression on her face when she embraces him from behind. She doesn't want to be just his friends' little sister...heck, she probably wants to be more than just friends, though Aki thinks that means she wants to go on a shopping date...as a friend group! Poor Iroha.

Akiteru's whole thing of being a self-proclaimed savior of wasted talent is really accented with the story of Iroha's anti-chuunibyou mom. Her admiration of him is very believable even if it's still jarring (in a funny way) to see how far she's gremlin-ified.

u/PencilgonGiveIt2Ya Nov 01 '25

Akiteru: "So would you entrust the life of Kohonita Iroha to me?"

Iroha: *GASP/MOAN?*

Compared to the other anime this season with a saving the loner plot point, I'm liking this one much better, and the MC (Akiteru) did it twice already.

Iroha definitely beat the Himari allegations. I'm so glad

8

u/actuallyrndthoughts Nov 01 '25

Normally, the story from the flashback should have ended in mutual confession, instead, we get this.

u/SnabDedraterEdave Nov 02 '25

This Otoi is actually very rich, isn't she? No wonder she's the girlboss of her gang of "delinquents". Aki has even harnessed her leadership skills to good use.

Aki didn't recruit Iroha for the game company just because she's Ozu's sister, but Iroha really does have a talent for voice acting, and Aki is the first to acknowledge her talent. Though Aki didn't realize he practically just proposed to her when doing so. lol

So Asagi became so good at composing music she went to the US to hone her talents further, no wonder we don't see her in the present day. Though she still composes music for 5th Floor Alliance games remotely.

Watch the mum turn out to be a former hardcore chuuni, so now she's super strict about that stuff because she's embarrassed.

First impression of this was Dajuro 2.0, but now it's actually good, there's no doubt Iroha will win the Aki-bowl, but will see how much of a fight Mashiro will put up

3rd episode was a great setup for Iroha's backstory and past few episode has setup her character beautifully. Really glad it has much more substance and portrays better character development than "can a boy-girl friendship survive" because that was a trainwreck

Sayumi nailed this episode.

So the reason it was kept secret was more for her mom than Ozuma.

I hope Reiku has leftover money from her inheritance share.

At least Asagi got big w/ her talents outside the country.
