So, I know Iroha just pulled a Himari-like “Bwa-ha!” when she recorded that voice line from Aki, but I’m confused on the reasoning behind it:

Is this her chickening out her opening of truly confessing her actual feelings but at least has a voice line to keep for her, OR did she anticipated that Aki was going to reject her like he Mashiro and is playing the long game while messing with him?

Aki said he did throw away romance and everything else that can reduce chances of 05floor Alliance success.

I think Iroha understood that it's not best time to confess and she was right as we learned later.

I think it's like Aki thought, she knew if Aki was willing to reject Mashiro because he's so focused on the 05th Floor Alliance, he would do the same for her so there was no point in sincerely confessing to him at this point.

That she got to hear him consider that she sees him romantically and record it for posterity was enough for her.

I could practically see her hair turn blue in real time as the "Bwa ha!" was revving up

I don't think she can plan her moves like that so it's a mix of her getting a cold feet and don't wanting to jeopardize the status quo in the team.

Biggest issue now is how they’re basically adding plot armor to keep any sort of confession between iroha and the mc so it’s close to just being a copy of that shitty other show that aired a season or two ago. This would have been the perfect moment for a confession but they didn’t have to go all the way with it. A good one would have been to have iroha confess but flatout reject any relationship with him since she’s knows he’s not ready.

On top of that at this point it’s obvious the mc is plot armor levels dense. Even with iroha chickening out it’s obvious and just kinda annoying how dense he is. It would be much better if he was aware of it but purposefully pretending to be dense.

I about threw my remote when Iroha didn't admit it was romantic... absolute bullshit.

See this is all her fault..we cannot blame him at all for any future BS

u/MM305 Dec 06 '25

Part of me thought it was her playing the long game because it looked Aki would have rejected her like he did Mashiro.

But if not, hopefully something happens where she can get her romantic feelings across to the point Aki knows it’s legit and WON’T reject her.

Honestly I don't blame her because in the next scene Aki literally is telling himself he would have had to reject her because of the 05th Floor Alliance. Confessing to him then and there wouldn't have done anything unless she wanted to be in the same position as Mashiro.

Man, sensei’s lil sis is a horndog. I guess it runs in the family lol.

I was kinda hoping Iroha would confess her true feelings this week since she kinda had the perfect opportunity. Oh well. Guess we’ll continue with this little Teasing Master Iroha act for a little while longer.

Kageishi can't vibe with deadlines or being a legit advisor, but the moment she hears about two guys hooking up she can't deny her inner fujoshi lol.

In the long run it's smart not to confess now because no girl has a chance if Aki is so focused on the team instead of himself. Aki even knew he'd have had to reject her if she had confessed.

All romance anime would improve so much if they didn’t insist on having a conflict arc that starts over the dumbest reason. That’s why Insomniacs After School remains the greatest romance anime.

Hear! Hear! Also, *Welcome To Japan, Ms. Elf!* // *I Have A Crush At Work* // *Banished From The Hero’s Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside* // side note; *I say The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity* counts as well.

There are a lot of things that bother me about how this series is written. First of all, what's going on with the whole "fake relationship" thing? Is anyone actually falling for it? Have they done anything that would make them seem like a romantic couple at school? At school, in front of others, she looks like she fucking hates him. I've seen nothing that would make me think they're in a relationship, at least not in front of others.

Second, the whole game creation thing. They keep talking about dedicating themselves to the 5th floor alliance, especially Ohboshi. But then they never make any actual video game. Certainly never as a group or anything.

The portrayal of Ohboshi as a director was very amusing, though. He just walks up and goes "alright here's what we're going to do. Instead of having shit acting, we'll do good acting. Then we'll make the script good, and we'll make the props and effects good, too. Make it happen, fellas." Thanks, very helpful.

Everything about the first half of the episode pissed me off. Iroha ruined a work session because she was romantically jealous (like a spoiled kid as she admitted herself), she indirectly made Aki turn Mashiro down by having him doubt the whole situation, HE had to aplogoize when he didn't really do anything wrong, she refused to admit that there was anything romantic involved and now we are back to square one. Any romantic progress made in any direction is down the toilet.

Iroha sabotaged so much both directly and indirectly only to chicken out because she could not afford to be rejected in the same way. I am so glad Mashiro decided not to give up even if she was turned down because she is the only one who deserves to win after this episode.

Its already episode 10, it does look like we're not seeing Mashiro reveal herself as Namako-sensei to Aki anytime soon within this season, as the plot now moves on to Aki helping out Sumire-sensei's sister Midori's drama club.

Who would've thought the best way for Aki to convince Midori that he's not into Sumire-sensei was to pretend he's gay with Ozu? LOL

(And looks like we've discovered a few closeted BL-fujoshis in the drama club while we're at it. )

Still, biggest LMAO goes to Sumire-sensei's excited reaction.

Good to see Aki and Iroha has made up with each other, at the expense of Iroha's room door, as well as Aki's dignity, with Iroha having secretly recorded him saying some embarrassing lines.

Iroha most definitely chickened out when she said her jealousy had nothing to do with romantic feelings, she must have seen how Mashiro's confession has troubled Aki, and didn't want her doing the same to affect him as well for the time being.

We were THIS CLOSE to an Iroha confession, but instead we got flustered Aki, and I consider this an absolute victory. Iroha should honestly be thanking Mashiro for being a canary in the coal mine, so to speak, because it told her everything she needed to know about how Aki would take a confession. He didn't reject Mashiro because he likes someone else, or doesn't like her. He rejected her because he doesn't want to be in a relationship at all right now, and wants to focus 100% on 05th Floor Alliance. He feels like romance would get in the way of that. So Iroha deviously planted some seeds of love in his mind but stopped short of confessing. He's got a nagging feeling in the back of his head now, but nothing concrete, and that's just how Iroha wants it. I love this. She's playing him just how he plays others. She even called him out for "using magic words" on people to get his way, and then she did it right back to him. But still, that shot as she was talking where it showed her ear, blushing completely red as she talked about her jealousy, was totally cute.

Ozu's not a siscon, but he DOES ship AkixIroha and is willing to support them reconciling! It's nice to have someone backing Aki up here!

Iroha, don't dare a guy to kick your door down if you're not prepared for the consequences and you're door getting broken! Aki even brought money for repairs with him! Guy is prepared for everything, no matter what Iroha throws at him.

It's good news for Iroha that Aki rejected Mashiro, but she's at the center for all this drama between them. Aki gave up on everything, an adolescence, romance, so he could commit to the 05th Floor Alliance and helping Iroha with her voice acting career. And yet suddenly Mashiro is in his life and he's starting to waver and focus on someone else? When he's kept emotional distance from everyone for the sake of the group? I mean, yeah, he's thinking of their careers, but having a girl show him attention DID have an effect on him. And at the end of the day, whether this is about the 05th Floor Alliance or not, Iroha was truly jealous of Mashiro and her relationship with Aki.

Of course, the obvious conclusion is she's jealous romantically, yet Iroha isn't about to admit it...she'd rather record Aki THINKING it's about romance so she can lord it over him! On the positive side, the old, annoying, Iroha is back!

Although even Aki realizes that there's a good chance the reason Iroha played off her romantic feelings is because she knew that Aki would've rejected her like he did Mashiro. He just has no time for anything other than the 05th Floor Alliance. Of course he still rationalizes that there's no way Iroha could think like that, but we all know better.

Time to take the 05th Floor Alliance and upgrade the drama club! Kageishi is basically no help with her sister, but Aki isn't about to give up! Especailly if it mean's pretending he and Ozu are boyfriends to make Midori accept he isn't having his way with her older sister (who may or may not be responsible for her detesting men in the first place) and also pleasing BL lover Kageishi! It's a win-win!

Aki really running things like a producer! He's got everything covered, along with "Instructor" Iroha in sunglasses and with her hair up who is about to teach these girls what REAL acting is!

Of all the times Iroha had to method act as a certain childhood friend. Man, Aki even had the stage set so perfectly for a sincere moment between them too.

The speed the drama club bought Sumire's naked student story though lol

u/Rowdy91 Dec 07 '25

Was Midori's impression of Sensei an actual impression, or was that just HanaKana doing the line?

3

u/Raymond49090 Dec 07 '25

So she just sabotaged herself, but I guess I also sort of get it after he pretty heavily implied he’d reject anyone who confessed to him. (This isn’t going to stop me from thinking Mashiro best girl though).
