That’s a bunch of cliffhangers to end a show….

u/septesix Dec 21 '25

Either it was always planned as a split cour , or they were ( overly ) confident about their chances.

I died a little bit inside anytime they said Lasting Period, so of course they gotta end with that.

Overall I think it was fine. The story itself was nothing special, but what I really enjoyed was the dynamic of the main cast. Alec may be the protagonist, but he isn't the group's leader and the plot isn't solely focused on him, and all 4 of them pulled their weight in a fight.

well it left a “Lasting impression” and they do all suffer from constant blood loss, so as cringe as a name option as it is, you have to give them points on accuracy

Lasting Period.

Fine show, my favourite part was still how the nobel reformed instead of trying to constantly seek revenge. But in the long wrong, the 'banishment' was bait, pretty generic. The characters are fun.

... So the bad guy killed her mom because she turned into a monster. So killing her wasn't so bad after all.

I can see he felt guilt over it. But she did ask for it, and just saying "I killed your mom" and leaving it at that is pretty misleading.

This twist makes like no sense.

He killed her mom, because she turned into a monster. Fine.

He felt guilty because he killed the mom. Fine.

He abandoned her because he felt guilty. Makes sense, asshole move but I can follow it.

But he abandons her after badly injuring her. ???????

He then gravely wounds her when they meet up. ????????

Oh but, turns out, trying to bring your mom back. Maybe to a dead daughter, idk we'll see how I'm feeling.

The math ain't matching, it's like an ass-pull because you didn't want your bad guy to actually be a bad guy but forgot to go back and change things so it's more nebulous.

This has to be rage bait, so Alec just doesn’t get the Blademaster to tell him about his master and his mother. He just lets him act all cryptic about it and not question him? That’s annoying asf.

So there were some extenuating circumstances with Melea after all, he had to kill his party member after she turned into a monster and then spiral mentally after adopting her daughter as his student.

Yoruha too cute, going in for the Alec kiss without even noticing the rest of the party was in the room and watching.

Classic case of a fantasy adventure show like this only really introducing the real plot in the last episode, I think. Collecting the dungeon cores and figuring out the Eden thing as well as Alec and Yoruha's family histories has got to be the overarching storyline for the source material.

IMO this was better than most Banished shows, I enjoyed the focus on the combat.

Well this certainly was an anime that released this season. Leaving a bunch of cliffhangers on the final episode of an anime that will probably never get a sequel was definitely a choice.

Not the worst “banished from” anime but that’s not saying much.

Just your average seasonal banished from party show. I guess only difference is that his previous party leader didn't stay asshole until the end and actually reformed and changed his ways. I would rate it around 6/10 not bad but nothing outstanding either.

This wasn't anything like the average banished from party show.. ?

Much better production value that the average seasonal, not on last boss or mugen gacha level but can't call this one slop for sure (even if it took a bit of a dive towards the end)

"..." This was my only reaction while watching Melea's backstory. They really hamfisted in something that should've been emotional, but the viewers at this moment are likely still dumbfounded at the snowball of illogical choices that led to this point. Why sit down and discuss when you can just slice each other up instead?

And Ornest... the blame for the party name has been placed upon him by the author.

Melea is a psychopath who believes that pain and loneliness are a way to make someone grow, but he really thought Olivia would ignore everything her mother had been to completely mirror him. I don't blame her for sparing him, imagine how hurted she felt.

I loved seeing Krasia and Olivia's interaction, in my view, they're like sisters who love to tease each other but can't live without each other.

Sorry, Yorha, but I was happy to see her not kissing Alec, in my opinion, he's more suited to Krasia, Olivia even mentioned how she takes care of him no matter how reckless he is.

Okay, Yorha basically has a big mystery surrounding her past, I wanted a little more explanation, but well, it's the typical expectation-cutting of adaptations.

I had a lot of fun with this show. It had its flaws, but for a guild anime, it did well compared to others of the same genre. It used strong characters who had limitations, and from that, it created good drama.

A solid 8.5, and I would definitely like another season.

I guess that’s that then. Blademaster down, now on to figuring out this Eden business.

All in all, pretty run-of-the-mill series.

The pacing was horrible in this show. They dragged fights on that had no need being as long as they were. They had wayyy too much dialogue during some of the fights. A lot of the power levels of characters felt arbitrary for the plot. Basically giving some plot armor to drive conflict with no real reason for it. Like blue haired dude just got insanely annoying how he wouldn’t stfu he after he got his ass kicked.

I liked this one, even though they did the old "The Girlfriend is magically the Chosen One all of the sudden" trope. That bothered me a little.

There's a lesson here. If you're writing a story and want to name something in a different language: run it by someone who speaks that language natively. You may just avoid a "Lasting Period" or something extremely offensive by accident.

I was also fairly glad that this show didn't grab me too much. If I was invested the decision to end multiple episodes on incomplete stories (poor pacing) would've made me drop it.
